We stayed three nights in the luxury twin room. The beds were extremely comfortable and the room was very clean and well presented. The only thing we missed really was having a fridge in the room. We had a cooked breakfast in Wilfred's restaurant each morning and found it to be excellent. There is a (very) short walk to the spa and Bertrams restaurant but if you ask at the desk they will actually provide a lift there. The spa was fabulous and we spent a blissful 6 hours or so in there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was reasonably busy but it's such a big spa you never felt crowded at all.

The staff at Bertrams were beyond polite and helpful. I really could not fault them, the food or service. We had a lovely evening over there. The room was spotless and smelt nice on arrival, again we can't fault the room.

The hotel reception staff, not so much, felt quite hostile and not very welcoming. Not one smile, she looked fed up like she didn't want to be there. I understand Mothers day is a busy day for anyone, but a smile, even if it's fake, goes a long way. The room above us moving around all night kept waking me up. After midnight and again at 5 am

Hotel was spotless, modern. Great hotel.

Unfortunately our 3 night stay was hindered by noise from 3 consecutive weddings over the three days . The wedding parties spilled out into the main hotel bar area despite having their own weeding function room with a large bar. The noise levels from the wedding members was very uncomfortable and spoilt and prevented any chance of having a relaxing/quiet drink in the hotel residents bar area. You really could not hold a conversation due to the loud volume of wedding guests. We certainly wouldn’t book again if a wedding is booked at the same time. The hotel really needs to address this. It’s a real shame as this is a very nice hotel, with great spa & leisure facilities. I felt sorry for any Spa weekend guests as this would not have been relaxing evenings for them.

Hotel, food, & leisure facilities all good quality & value for money

Very disappointed that no spa access or treatment time’s available, as unknown to us at time of booking, same booked up 3-4 weeks in advance. Suggested to reception supervisor, that on line spa availability should be an option on website when booking; not as a separate enquiry. The crowood is marketed as a Hotel & Spa Resort; this is both misleading & is false advertising when Spa access is completely separate

Mostly the restaurant I ate there both evenings. Service and ambience was good and the food was delicious. Top marks.

After driving all the way from southern Italy I arrived hoping for an early check in but was denied. The greeting from the receptionist was really poor. She had a superior and patronising attitude, having stayed in hotels all around the world this receptionist made no attempt to enquire if any rooms were ready. I arrived at 1.30 pm. Very disappointing for a top class hotel.

The site of the hotel itself was lovely and excellently maintained. The hotel was very comfortable with excellent restaurants and superb food. The staff were amongst the best we have met on our travels. They were well trained professional, friendly and helpful. In particular the head Concierge was delightful , so kind and thoughtful. A man happy in his work and certainly one of the hotel’s biggest assets.

The location around the hotel hadn’t much to offer. Also the hotel would benefit from the addition of a comfortable lounge where you could relax of an evening.

An upmarket hotel and complex but retains a welcoming feel and staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a choice of restaurants (although the menus in each are similar) and the quality and choice of the food is good. Prices are what you’d expect to pay and not overly expensive. The buffet breakfast has a lot of choice and is good quality.

Probably my fault, but when I booked it said that the room included use of ‘all leisure facilities’. I expected that this included use of the spa, which it didn’t, so I was a bit disappointed. However, the leisure facilities include use of the pool area with jacuzzi, steam and sauna as well as the gym so not too bad but if you want the spa you will need to book separately.

The hotel was really easy to find and lovely and private. The staff are really friendly and made you feel so welcome. The hotel is stunning and the room was immaculate. I had dinner in Wilfreds Restaurant and highly recommend. The food and service are outstanding! All in all a fantastic weekend stay and would highly recommend!

The phone reception in the room was a bit hit and miss due to the location but that could simply be my mobile provider. They do offer WIFI which rectifies this issue.

Lovely, modern hotel with beautiful decor and a good breakfast selection. We didn't get to use the spa facilities as we were away for business, this is included in the rate & probably what you are paying for so worth taking the time if you are visiting.

Photo ID was asked for on arrival, which we were surprised by as hadn't seen any notification beforehand but luckily we had this with us. The receptionist then took a photograph of our driving license & saved it on the system (without our consent). I'm not sure if they do this for all guests or just because you're booking via a third party site.

The breakfast was good. We were particularly impressed with the quality of food at both Wilfreds and Bertrams.

I wish we had known Tuesday was burger night at Bertrams as this affected our experience with the burger customers being seen to first. It was my husbands birthday so I was hoping for another quality experience like we had at Wilfreds, however, we had starter then main, then were left with dirty plates for 30 minutes. We gave up on wanting a dessert, and I had to go and ask for our bill as staff had walked past our table 4 times and ignored the dirty plates.
