Warm and welcoming, staff couldn't do enough

Location was perfect. Lovely country pub in glorious grounds, in a pretty little village very close to Clitheroe, and we could see Pendle Hill from our room. Delicious food - especially the lamb burger with goat's cheese and caramelised onions! Tea + coffee-making facilities in room and a fan, which was most welcome in the heatwave!

The following did NOT spoil our stay, but correcting them could make another guest 'super happy'. Bathroom visible from the road, so blackout curtain had to be used, thus needing electric light on during day, which was a shame. Rubber seal on shower-glass wasn't watertight, hence leakage into floor after every shower. Lovely big sash windows, but a substantial hole in one of the curtains. Mainly delicious food, but the fish pie was rather tasteless, which was a shame.

The breakfasts were very good, hot and nicely cooked. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and accommodating. Particular help was given concerning my allergy. The setting was stunning, surrounded by greenery and the wonderful Pendleton Hills. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were made to feel quite special as residents and were well looked after. The choice and quality of meals was very good. Beds made, room cleaned and new towels every day, was a real bonus,not always offered these days.

The bed was rather hard. The room was very warm even with the top window open.

Characterful homely hotel in the beautiful village of Worston. Pamela, the owner and all the staff were exceptional in their relaxed friendliness, you will be made to feel very welcome, looked after and comfortable. There is a huge dining conservatory at the back of the hotel overlooking the large garden surrounded by trees and fields with Pendle Hill in the background. We sat on the decking which was by a stream, it was idyllic admiring the views and listening to the birds.there are lots of walks from the village. The hotel is spotlessly clean . Very good menu with food from home made pies, to curry. Be warned, the portions are huge although they do have a few dishes that are available in smaller portions.

Having to leave

Comfortable, friendly and popular hotel and restaurant. Quiet at night in spite of popularity of restaurant. Menu was varied and food fresh and plentiful. Good base for walks around Pendle Hill. Be aware that is close to main road and probably need to drive to get into centre of Clitheroe. We tried walking in but wasn't a great route. However, it does mean that is very convenient for stopovers and for getting to other areas.

The room had everything we needed, very comfortable bed, tea/coffee, adequate storage space etc. The hotel was sign posted from the main road and was easy to find and it had plenty of free parking. The food in the hotel was great and good value. Staff were all very friendly. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a mid range place to stay.

The room decor was a bit dated and the bathroom had a bit of mould but it still felt clean and it wouldn't deter me from recommending the hotel or staying again. The biggest issue was the noise from next door, we could hear the TV through the wall but it was unclear whether that was due to thin walls or inconsiderate 'neighbours'. We didn't complain because we weren't in the room that much but if we were light sleepers it could have been a bigger issue. Not everyone can sleep to the sound of 80's ballads.

Every obliging when we returned in the evening 8.00ish. Enjoyed a pot of tea for two and had a dessert from the Dessert Menu. Light and airy breakfast room, excellent breakfast - full English breakfast/scrambled egg with bacon. Excellent scrambled eggs (too much for myself), lovely crispy bacon. Very nice full English breakfast with toast. (Both too full to each all the toast. Normally only have cereals or toast. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

At 80 and 76 - one of us lying against a wall.

The room and bathroom was tastefully decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. A lovely restaurant offering a very extensive menu for all tastes. I've never seen such a vast and delicious Dessert menu! My food was excellent. On the Monday and Tuesday evenings that I stayed, the restaurant was buzzing and well staffed. It seemed to be very popular with locals. On both nights there were family gatherings celebrating birthdays which says a lot about its reputation.

There was nothing to dislike!

We had dinner on the first night in the conservatory which was very pleasant, food was good plus good value. We sat by the fire in the front of the hotel after dinner, lovely. Bed very comfortable, all rooms are unique as we found when we were shown around. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, staff were friendly and you could have any combination of food off the menu. The hotel is set in smashing countryside, easy to park and easy to travel to places of interest in the area.

Lovely pub restaurant/hotel within 5 minutes of Clitheroe. Lovely surroundings as it is within a small village. Staff were lovely and friendly and breakfast was really good. Didnt get to eat dinner there but the menu looked very good and the restaurant was packed which is always a good sign.

Room was dated and the bed quite small, despite the room having more than enough room for a bigger bed! Bathroom was again dated but very clean.
