The property is in a lovely position.

On arrival I was greeted by an elderly gentleman. I think he may be the owner. He was not welcoming, asked for the money straight away and then informed me it was an extra £15 per night for my little pooch an unexpected cost. Shown to the room handed the keys at the door entrance and he left. No would you like help with your bags, particularly as it was up a number of steps. Not a great start. The rest of the staff at breakfast each morning were warm and welcoming. I would not return due to the owners poor attitude towards a paying (not cheap) guest.

Perfect location for a wedding we attended at Eaves Hall. Lovely cosy pub with beautiful fire, food menu only small but definitely something for everybody. We had breakfast included in the morning for the 2 nights we stayed, very basic breakfast but again, something for everyone. Our room was okay, plenty of space to hang clothes etc large bathroom and everything you need such as iron, hair dryer, kettle etc!

Rooms looking a bit tired, pillows very flat, few squatted flies on the ceiling/walls not been cleaned off properly. Could do with a lick of paint.

It was perfectly placed for a wedding we were attending at the Eves Hall. Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. Nice touch with smellies in room and a good bathroom mirror. Enabled early collection of key to save a mid afternoon check in part way through the wedding. Breakfast was excellent.

Sadly the room smelt strongly of damp. Whether this was from the bathroom or the fact we were in an old building was hard to tell, but as an asthmatic the scent was strong and affected the comfort and did disturb my sleep. Damp wasn’t evident visually, but definitely present. No mobile signal at the hotel and couldn’t see a WiFi password on the room (but also didn’t ask for this) so not sure of access ability.

The breakfast always makes our stay worthwhile and Matthew is a top notch chef/owner and really looks after his customers. This was our 3rd visit. Really comfy beds.

Having to move rooms due to previous guests having a dog in the room. Lots of unwelcome dog hairs. Having an allergy to pet hair this was somewhat concerning. To be fair, the room we moved was only next door but without the wet dog smell. If you are going to be dog friendly, then the rooms need to be cleaned much more thoroughly and the option of pet free rooms bookable online.

Nice, cosy restaurant/pub with rooms. Evening meal and breakfast - food was very good and staff very attentive. Hotel room very clean and well appointed. Although not very big, was good value for money

Would have been nice to have an area with comfy chairs or a couple of sofas instead of all dining tables and chairs - useful for people staying over for a couple of nights like us. The heating/radiators were not working in our room, however a member of staff brought us a heater. Towels were a little worn & minimal toiletries.

The rooms were excellent, clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable; it even had a TV in the bed footboard but as we were out at family Christmas we didn’t watch TV The breakfast was very good and freshly prepared to order, with friendly and efficient service.

Fine tuning comments…. a bit sparse on the bathroom toiletries (and replenishing thereof); the automatic Velux bathroom window didn’t work, nor did one of our bedside lamps (but we only realised this going to bed or we’d have said) However, we also realise it was Christmas and staff may have been off

We stayed here 1 night ,after a long drive from Devon it was great to arrive to the very spacious and comfortable accommodation,booking in was easy and we were soon in the warm room . We booked to eat for 6.30 and chose 2 courses from the early menu the food was presented nicely served up fast and was delicious and the price was very agreeable ,the lady that served us was so professional and nice ,back in the room ,the bed was very comfortable ,and in the morning breakfast was excellent as well ,the owner is accommodating and a nice chap. We highly recommend this pub and accommodation and will no doubt be returning in the future.

Stayed here several times. Rooms lovely and comfortable. Stayed in large room above the barn style rooms this time. Room had everything expected in a hotel room. Bed really comfortable and large settee. Tv was hidden away at the end of the bed which was a luxury. Shower and bathroom clean and modern. Could have done with a shelf in the shower for toiletries and also near sink. Minor points though. Village really quiet at night so helped to get a good night's sleep. Breakfast excellent. Will be staying again.

The room was lovely and clean , both modern but still in touch with the traditional feel of the Inn. Facilities include a hairdryer , iron , hot drinks , kettle , large bottle of water and soaps etc. The staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival. The breakfast was in the Inn and it was lovely with everything provided. We stayed as we were attending a wedding nearby and this is a place we would definitely come back to . You eill not be dissapointed its Beautiful

Really lovely cosy atmosphere as soon as we walked in, had a fire going in the wood burner in the restaurant, friendly member of staff greeted us and checked us in, showed us to our room. The room is fantastic, really comfy, everything we needed for our 1 night stay, giant bathroom with enormous walk in shower, all in all just a really nice room. Fully intend to come back for a couple of days at some point for a relaxing weekend.
