We were upgraded to the Chairmans Suite, what a fantastic gesture and it absolutely made our night away so much more special. We checked in, kind of didn't want to leave the room after being upgraded to the suite but went down into the bar area for drinks, found a nice little corner and played cards. We ate in the restuarant at 7.30pm, there did seem to be a little wait for the food to start coming out and did hear a few grumbles around the room but we weren't fussed. There was a quiz on after our meal but it had already started so we decided to take a few cocktails back up to the room. We booked breakfast in the latest slot of 9.30am, we were seated and served promptly and the breakfast is absolutely spot on. All in all, it far exceeded our first stay many years ago and we will 100% be returning without question. It is worth mentioning that we stayed over on a thursday night and it was quite warm and had the window open throughout the night, whilst the road is quiet during the night, we got the church bells at 6.30am followed by a few tractors - again, didn't bother us in the slightest but thought it worth mentioning.

The shower head for me had no real pressure and I couldn't fit underneath it (I'm 6ft6) so I just used the hand held one quite as easy so still managed to shower. The coffee station in the suite is on a very low table, I had to sit on the floor to make a coffee in the morning - not sure how elderly/disabled guests would cope there. Nothing else to nit pick about otherwise.

The Millstone is situated in a pretty village & is very picturesque. The food is amazing! We were a party of 8 to celebrate my 60th birthday, & somehow the chef managed to get all our food out together & all piping hot. Including a GF & dairy free meal. The staff as well were all very friendly & professional. The breakfast the next day was made to order, which again was beautiful. They also made our family dog feel very welcome, bring him meat at dinner & sausage at breakfast. What a treat!

Not much, although being on the second floor the stairs were a bit steep, but as it’s an old building there’s not much that can be done to rectify that.

When we arrived there was a space in the free carpark. We were greeted by a friendly member of staff who gave us our room key and told us all the necessary information. The room was spacious and cozy, beautifully decorated, with a walk in shower in the bathroom. We had booked in for an evening meal which was delicious. The restaurant and pub parts had a welcoming atmosphere. We took a walk through the quiet village and then went to bed. We had breakfast included in our stay, which was so tasty, and very well presented. Plenty of options. A fabulous stay, would definitely come again. Xx

Fantastic staff, warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Great experience of hospitality from every staff we met, at the desk, at the bar, when eating at breakfast. We took some names if needed as we were so impressed. The staff recommended places to visit nearby, were informative and friendly. Made the visit more pleasurable. The room was beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. Great night's sleep. The atmosphere in the pub was very relaxing and the standard of food was great. Really tasty, good options and great portions. We took a dog with us and they are very dog friendly. Overall Fantastic, thank you.

This little place is a gem in lovely settings - a nice piece of Country Side - when I arrived I was welcomed and the staff asked if I needed any help with my luggage which was sweet - Really beautiful and cosy country pub and fine dining restaurant

I was a little disappointed with some mould in the bathroom and the quality of the bedding was more like a 3 star not a 5 star - the quilt and pillows were cheap and could improve on this The breakfast was top! Very clean and yummy I ate every bit of the cooked breakfast and the staff were friendly and really respectful - the staff wore white gloves at breakfast so felt a little ‘fine dining and I would love to try their evening meals I work in the area every week and would definitely stay again - maybe offer a little discount for regular work travellers would be a nice touch

Excellent Buffet Choice Breakfast plus cooked if required. Main restaurant always busy but accommodating for residents. Excellent choice of food to suit all ages and adult tastes in both vegetarian and carnivorous food. The staff are warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. All extra requests were fulfilled. We thought our room was comfortable and nicely warm considering it was January. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The maid service was excellent and our room was a pleasure to return to in the evening. We would both happily stay at the Millstone again.

Staff exceptionally welcoming & helpful. Rooms not huge but really well appointed, clean, fluffy towels, White company products in bathroom nice touch. Tea/coffee/hot chic etc Only thing missing was shower cap. We were in separate building but 30’seconds across car park to main building no problem at all. Dining room nice atmosphere & really enjoyed the full English breakfast - home made hash browns & bacon without loads of fat. Not clear but you could ask for hot croissant …next time as would definitely return if in the area.

The location for Preston, staff, quality of food and rooms. The food was of a very high standard and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

These are not really complaints but thoughts for minor improvements i.e. we had quite a wait for our cooked breakfast on the Sunday morning maybe stagger times. A little more attention to detail required in the rooms i.e. coasters for drinks in room 233 the tables were quite marked due to lack of these. Plus the milk, coffee' and hot chocolate sachets and tea bags were stuffed in the mugs thus you had to empty them all out on the table before making a drink.

I have stayed here before and came back because it was such a comfortable and enjoyable experience. The room was so clean and cosy with everything I needed. The staff are just lovely so kind and helpful. Terry the night porter and Damien and Lucy in the restaurant were particularly helpful and could not do enough for me. I used public transport to get here and although it is a beautiful village setting you can get buses from Blackburn and Preston. I cannot recommend highly enough, I will definitely be back.

We stayed as a large group attending a wedding locally. The staff could not do enough for us, so friendly and helpful, and accommodated any dietary requests and room switches. We all had a meal together and everyone found their food excellent and generous portions. The chairman’s suite was cosy and comfortable, the room was immaculately clean with facilities to iron, and a fan available. Water and freshly baked biscuits were provided.
