Lovely large room (room 6). Lovely setting. Warm. Nespresso machine in room as well as standard kettle. More tea bags and milk would have been nice but when spoke to reception they very helpful.

Breakfast Service was poor. Many items not available e.g. cold meats, granola, and basics like bowls for cereal, spoons for hot drinks. Yoghurt had been in sun and started to turn. Spoke to staff who reported they were sadly understaffed on day we stayed. We had attended an evening event at hotel and food service could be improved - the food was lovely when arrived warm but our soup starter was cold... and the staff appeared disorganised. There was another function on which may have contributed.

Fabulous room in the manor house, absolutely huge with great facilities. One of the best hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Breakfast was wonderful - such a nice change these days to have it cooked fresh to order, rather than a self serve buffet that seems to have become the norm. Overall I could not fault this hotel.

My only tiny niggle was the tea and coffee facilities were not properly stocked. No herbal tea, only one type of coffee with 2 capsules in the coffee machine and no instructions. Very limited amount of milk. But this is a tiny issue in what was an otherwise fabulous hotel room.

This is a fantastic hotel with beautiful grounds and views, there has been a lot of money spent to make everything a visual delight. The rooms are really well appointed and cleverly designed. The corridors are wide with nice views of the gardens. This is really a five star establishment and in theory provides fantastic value for money.

So fantastic facilities let down by an inexperienced staff. The desk staff were competent. No more. The restaurant staff in the evening were inexperienced and the food was mediocre. My son had the house burger and when we requested the burger to be cooked rare we were told that it would be served as it came and that it would be impossible to vary the cooking. When queried the waitress checked with the kitchen only to have the same reply. My lamb curry was very poor both in quality and quantity. The cooked breakfast was even worse, poorly cooked, missing elements, no black pudding and no taste. Even the fried eggs were over cooked and dry.

Beautiful location. Big and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms. Friendly staff.

Bathroom robes and slippers were part of the complimentary package and I didn’t see these in the bedrooms. I called reception, who told me they would send these if they would find some. None arrived. At the checkout, I was told by the staff member that these should have been in the rooms and offered apology for this. The rooms were extra warm upon arrival, but there is a control panel on the wall to take the temperature down. Fans are available but unfortunately my one didn’t work. I didn’t call the reception to send me another one but I am sure this would have been accommodated.

The room was good spacious comfortable everything we needed bathroom was good Staff were nice location was great out the way breakfast was good would come again but I think next time I'd order a meal from else we're unless they improve the food in the restaurant.

Was looking forward to a luxury meal as the hotel looked the part but went for a meal the food in the restaurant was stone cold wasn't edible went back to warm for second time still the same I hardly touched the food did get money took off the bill and complementary drinks and staff was very apologetic and understanding about the problem but still doesn't excuse the point as the food should be up to the stars of the hotel.

The rooms in the farm house were exceptional and we had 2 x double rooms . The lunch we had was good . Rodrigo was exquisite and kept us entertained with wit and wisdom and a free wine as 2 of our party sat patiently with fish , chips n mushy peas slowly growing cold while waiting almost 6 more minutes for the rest of our party to be served 2 salmon sandwiches ... Thankyou Rodrigo you really were the shining star on that bleak tree...

Imagine 30 something people waiting for 1 coffee machine that takes 1 minute to give 1 person a coffee ... or even just hot water !... you do the math .... The full English breakfast was 1 sausage ,1 rasher of bacon ,half a tomatoe , half ... yes half a medium sized mushroom , 1/8th of a tin of beans and 1 poached egg that was perfect .... I felt the shame of the young girl who served us breakfast and obviously she felt the shame too and that was the reason she obviously never came back ... except after I'd eaten said breakfast with the French mustard I previously asked for as I was served ......luckily she brought English which went well with the toast and marmalade .... I would of preferred a nice jam but obviously they only grown lemons and oranges at the once renowned Stanley House .

The beautiful surroundings and comfortable atmosphere. The staff worked hard and nothing was to much trouble. Rodrigo and Lina were amazing in the brasserie and bar. The bed room was large and well serviced.. The bed was so comfy. The bathroom contained a bath and separate shower, white fluffy towels.Plenty of choice for breakfast, the porridge was delicious. We used the spa and were happy with the thermal suite.

The people not resident in the hotel going to the gym walked directly under our window. The cars coming into the hotel seemed to treat the drive as a race track on times. I found the pod coffee machine difficult to get on with.

The setting and our room in the manor house was amazing. beautiful gardens, and plenty of parking. Location is great as not too far from Clitheroe and Whalley

They definitely need to up their breakfast service game and employ hospitality trained staff. Unlike other hotels I've stayed at there didn't seem to be anyone in charge directing the staff who were all young and probably just working there whilst on holiday from Uni, or part time jobs from college. They were friendly enough but didn't think to clear tables, keep items topped up - if a senior member of staff had been there that wouldn't have been an issue. And the plates the breakfasts were served on were cold - a basic really. For the price of our stay I thought that additional dishes that were offered on the menu should have been included rather than at an extra cost.

The atmospheric rooms in the manor house and the style of the decor throughout. The Spa is excellent, with allocated two hour time slots into the thermal suite limiting numbers means that everything was calm and easy to access. The Spa staff are very attentive and helpful. The Spa lounge has herbal cold drinks and an array of hot drinks including a large nespresso machine along with healthy snacks to help yourself toat no cost

The breakfast service was a little poor and the some things did not work due to an electrical issue. We then asked for toast which did not arrive.

The location is lovely, and so was the room (in the old manor house). Room amenities & facilities were great and I had lovely view of the gardens. Good bed & comfortable mattress. Lovely bathroom! Ample parking. Quiet and tranquil setting!

Wifi in the room was sketchy unless I stood at the window. Breakfast was terrible for a place as nice as this. Front desk staff were great; staff in breakfast room seemed disinterested.
