Our roomy, yet compact, apartment at Mint House was easy to access and the pre-arrival customer service was very responsive. The apartment was exceptionally clean and was particularly well kitted-out. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need to prepare a full meal - ample glassware, dishes, cutlery, cooking utensils and pots and pans. There also was complimentary cookies, bottled water, coffee, coffee filters, creamer, sweetener and tea bags. The kitchen also included multiple dishwasher tabs and a new sponge and the bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, liquid soap and lotion. The apartment was outfitted with an iron, a min-ironing board, a washer and dryer, a refrigerator, a dishwasher, a stove, a cooktop and a drip coffeemaker. The spacious lobby is bright and includes self-service snacks and beverages for purchase, plus plenty of seating, a foosball table, an air hockey table and a shuffleboard table. One thing of which to be aware, there’s no onsite parking, but there is a motor lobby with three spaces for luggage loading and unloading. Mint House recommends a secure, pay parking deck associated with UAB hospital which is a block away. We parked there on a Saturday night, and surprisingly, when we departed Sunday at 11 AM, the gate raised and we weren’t charged for parking. Bonus!

Unfortunately, the water pressure is on the low side - that’s the biggest negative. Other things we noticed are more not-picky … the bed was comfortable but a little squishier than I’d prefer. It was also a queen, but there’s room for a king. The blackout shade on the window lets a bit too much light in on the sides. Finally, the cabinet door to the main under sink trash can is incredibly difficult to open. It needs a handle or a spring-loaded catch. None of this would prevent me from renting here again. Overall it’s a great property.

I really like the close proximity to UAB. I also liked the layout of the apartment. It has a washer, dryer, dishwasher, and everything you need. Very clean and comfortable. Check in and check out were very easy. Perfect for what we needed. I would definitely stay again.

I didn’t really like that it didn’t have on site parking. But it wasn’t an issue. I did find a parking spot on the street that was close. I’m not sure how hard it is to find a spot on the weekend, we stayed a weeknight. Parking on the street is free from 5 pm- 8 am. After 8 am I paid $1/hr plus a small convenience fee.

I was a bit skeptical at first, but when I got settled in? I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. Mint House felt like I was in an apartment and for the PRICE?? I was sold. A whole kitchen, washer & dryer, a beautiful clean bathroom, spacious with a view and a TV loaded with streaming services. There’s no parking on the property but UAB has parking and I stayed for 3 days and my parking was only $20 but they have Tesla’s on the site that you can rent for $20 and MAN!! let me tell you guys.. YOU DO NOT WANNA PASS THAT UP. 10/10!! A full blown 5 STARS.

Honestly I hardly have any complaints I kinda wish it had parking lowkey but overall it was PERFECT!

Mint was artsy and clean. The vibe was excellent. The cleaning staff who came through were friendly and informative. The remote staff was very attentive from afar. They called me back within 10min of a call I made to them and hung up (I solved my problem) it was nice that they just wanted to be sure everything was ok.

A welcome packet or local guide would have helped. Or a guide for understanding the rest of the amenities available other than the gym. Maybe a quick video guide? 1 Min to Mint!

The apartment style was very homey and clean. The vibe was excellent. It was so cozy that we spent 70% of our getaway in the soft bed. Parking was very annoying, but luckily it was the weekend so we were able to street park for free. I think a video explaining the amenities and available parking options would be great. There were firework shows and a ton of sirens going off everyday, but that’s expected when you’re surrounded by hospitals.

Mostly everything. Clean, quiet, nice cookie treats and premium coffee. Onsite staff i.e. housekeeping, is wonderful.

Fan kept randomly coming on in bathroom. Two empty refrigerated cases in building, with not even soda to purchase. Had to undergo a background check and allow a $200 hold for deposit. Had a terrible time uploading documents and learned after an hour delay that the original submissions had indeed gone through. Have booked here a few times, didn't understand the background check. Also, when booking through a different 3rd party I am not subjected to any such hold. Hold was not disclosed until after non refundable rate was paid

Such a nice and well equipped self-contained flat. Wished we were staying longer.

The windows did let in a bit of street noise.

Front desk attendant cared more about her phone than anything else, was not helpful and her best answer when asked about location of anything was “over there” as she pointed and did not look up from her phone. Should also be clear in the description that there is no parking provided. You can find a place on the street or park in the UAB Medical parking garage for $10 a night. Not a bad thing but should be more clear on the description

Location location location!! Our son had to have surgery at UAB. We had no idea how close it was to hospital. We were able to park our car and walk back and forth for the week we were there.

My only issue was the ceiling fan light popped on by itself at 3:30 am then again about 20 min later. My husband stayed at hospital and I came to room to get a good nights sleep - scared the life out of me.
