What's the location couldn't be better, and I love the charming old feeling and decor the whole hotel in my room, with a lovely view of the water. I'm very quiet, and the heater/Cooler worked excellently in the bed was clean I'm comfy. I myself prefer softer memory foam style bed, and this was firmer that I like but I think most people would actually prefer it. And the check-in was very friendly and efficient. Really enjoyed my stay. And the people at the restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel we're super friendly and helpful as well. I would happily stay here again

Well I thought there was supposed to be a breakfast, but there was no breakfast at all and nobody at reception that I saw during the morning hours. But that was just a minor misunderstanding I guess.

Friendliness & ‘workable solutions’ of management w/ staff: Arrived with one nights booking and was allowed to choose a room where air conditioner was not working for a second night at a discounted rate appx. $26 higher than where we had planned to stay in Martinez. Continental breakfast: find it hard to believe comments that disparage this aspect. There’s not much chance that Union MIGHT have let it’s game slip between when we stayed here, November ‘22 and this weekend. it was great both times. I believe instead that people are really hooked on the plasticity of what is offered by chains? Selection was creative, had variety, and most of all allowed us to go through till lunch without hunger. Charm and simplicity of furnishings while providing a comfortably firm bed. Especially appreciated chairs and a couch. Price: clearly still a stay-in-Benicia section. Rates were 1/3 less than all others.

Small space within which to work in getting breakfast. I feel that the toaster being near the front counter helped immensely, but also feel that utilizing a table in the dining room for coffee might improve flow. Morning staff needs to keep their phone conversations to a minimum, especially when discussing family matters. It’s one thing to use the phone to take a booking, another to discuss a relative or friend’s digestive system or issues with their extended care facility? Perhaps this promotes issues when an inquiry (about the need for napkins? Yogurt,? Milk? is awkward or takes time Noise from the street. I think the only answer for this might be triple glazed? windows when budget allows. Perhaps signs out front encouraging thoughtfulness, especially after 10 o’clock.

self-serve breakfast with bars and oatmeal, it's adequate. Coffee in room was ok. Self-check-in instructions were easy to follow. Bed was comfortable and location was great. Bathroom and amenities were clean. There is a restaurant downstairs but we didn't eat there.

Given it's an old establishment, don't expect it to meet today's standard, but overall it met our expectations.

Location was great and the price was good. Very comfortable and everyone was nice. Once you check in no one comes into your room, you can pick up extra coffee, towels, etc. at the desk. A great bar around the corner with really good bands Saturday and Sunday.

The location, large room and bed, extremely great decor. Staff was always helpful and nice.

We spilled a little liquid on the floor, using a napkin to wipe the clear spill up and napkin turned brown from a dirty floor.

The breakfast could be improved. We did not want to eat any of the "sugar treats" provided. Our room was overlooking the back of the hotel - not the best view, to say the least.

This is a very nice hotel in an excellent location on the main street, close to the bay. Rooms are nice size, clean, have old, antique furniture, and very pleasant. It has a nice restaurant.

Because this is old hotel, some things may not work perfectly. But if there is anything, it is really minor.

The signs and notices throughout the property (as well as the hotel's promotional brochure and the informational sheet given upon check-in) could use an update and would add to the historical charm.

Historic building with quaint bedroom and view. Charming staff. Outstanding barman offering excellent cocktails and menu suggestions.

Highly recommend you go out for breakfast. Enough said. Someone really should clean the downstairs restroom.

Great location, historic hotel.

Inexistant breakfast. One towel stank so much we couldn’t use it. And there is no staff onsite after 5 to ask for little things like that.
