A modern room in a "vintage" motel. The room was clean and comfortable with nice touches by the housekeeping staff. It was surprisingly quiet considering its location on a major road into town. We spent a week here because it is close to family and would certainly stay here again.

I cannot imagine using the pool here only because of its location on the highway, but that's part of its vintage charm, I suppose.

Very clean, updated, old school type motel. Modern amenities, Shower was perhaps the best hotel/motel shower I have encountered - great water pressure. Nice touch of breakfast Danishes in room . Very reasonable rate. Helpful staff

Only due to location (next to what apparently is a very busy street 24/7), very noisy throughout the night. Disposable earplugs were provided in the rooms, though. The beds were very uncomfortable - super, super firm. Thought, perhaps, we were sleeping on the box springs.

Management was readily available to resolve a small problem. Muir Lodge is not luxurious, but stylish updates, a very good shower, comfortable casual seating and new luxury vinyl flooring give it my top rating for budget accommodations.

There is nothing to be done about the busy street in front of the property.

I really like this place. It feels safe, comfortable, and clean. I also like the location. I prefer the rooms with the bathtub. I like nice aesthetics -- this place is tastefully decorated and has a peaceful and calm vibe. Close to good places to hike and my commute into Albany was easy from this place. This hotel is my first preference when I need a place to stay in the area.

I left my outlet for my curling iron (it turns the curling iron off automatically). When I called they could not locate it. I also have accidentally left my electric tea kettle another visit and they held onto it. I was just bummed to lose my outlet--I've had for years and it never stops working. I've stayed a few times and the sinks tend to drain slowly as did one of the showers.

Everything! so thoughtful, nice little touches, a great deal of caring about the place was evident, and just so many thoughtful little touches. It was so clean, it was so comfy, and everything from an iron board to extra coffee. a wonderful stay! A really good price and a great location.

Not a thing

The motel pickings are slim in Martinez, many of them subpar. This one rises above the rest plus it is adjacent to the Muir National Park. I have stayed here many times before and have always been satisfied. Of course, it has no full breakfast but there is a Jack in the Box right across the street.

Don't expect luxury but rooms are well furnished

This is an old-fashioned motor lodge, but everything was very clean and up to date. Very good value for the price. And, to be honest, I would rather spend my money on a good, clean family-run motel like this, than some corporate chain.

I have no complaints.

The room was excellent. Everything was nice and clean and matched the pictures we saw. My boyfriend wasn't too sure about this place until we opened our room. He was shocked by just how nice it was. I'd totally stay here again and downtown Martinez is a super cute area.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable to me and you're pretty close to a road with a lot of car noise, but they supply earplugs.

Location was good and the one staff member I interacted with was very pleasant and helpful

My main objection was there were not enough towels or anyplace to hang a damp towel up

Loved the uniqueness and the ambiance. Like staying at a throwback, before the mega hotels run by corporations. Clean and refurbished nicely
