Location was directly in front of 2 beach access walk ways. Staff were very nice on both shifts. They allow beach umbrella and beach chairs for guests to use

It was hard to find parking. Seemed like a lot of the general public was using hotel parking to be closer to the beach. For the price of the hotel, The breakfast? Was not a breakfast and could’ve included more items like eggs, oatmeal and bagels

It’s 50 yards from room to feet in water at the beach. Staff Boa extremely helpful, house keeping keeps that hotel spotless. The atmosphere with all the tiki’s flowers and palm trees it’s easy to feel you are on a tropical paradise vacation just hours away from LA. The full size fridge and kitchen helps keep the dining cost down for large families. The pool is heated just parents remember swimmers for your kids. They provide beach chairs and umbrellas so if you flew in you have everything you need. LEGOLAND is a few miles away so it’s ideal. The village also walking distance ALL kinds of food, even candle making!

Only thing construction behind us until the end of March 2025 they hope to be done by the 20th. That wasn’t the hotels fault but, the construction had a sharp 7am start time so much for sleeping in. Everything was amazing just wait five days for the construction to stop sleep is import while on vacation.,

I went there with a friend who was visiting relatives and I was just going to hang around. Not knowing the area, we were both very happy. The ability to have 2 bedrooms (even though we were just 2 people, we wanted our own rooms), a sitting area, and kitchen made for a much more fun experience than renting 2 rooms. Knowing it had a kitchen, we packed some food for snacks or if we just wanted to not eat out. Location was great, beach access half a block, restaurants, coffee shops, The outdoor area is wonderful, lots of seating with or without tables. We enjoyed talking and drinking a glass of wine by the outdoor fireplace. I sat outside reading, and liked walking up the street and exploring the neighborhood. The staff was very accomodating, helpful, friendly and all around excellent. Our stay was only 1 night, but both my friend and I wished we could stay longer. I am going to recommend it to friends, especially a family with 2 kids.

Wifi was at times slow or didn't connect, but I could use my data plan. At first the in room coffee machine didn't work but i reset the GFI on the plug and then it did.

The location of this resort is absolutely perfect! It is close to the beach and great walking distance to Carlsbad Village. The “Luxury Mini Suite” was perfect for my family of 4. We did not eat in the suite but it did a have a small variety of cookware so you could if you wanted. The breakfast bars, fruit, and juices provided every morning were great. We also really enjoyed the coffee! Although we did not use this, it was nice knowing they had beach chairs, umbrellas, and toys you could use for the day. We did take advantage of the beach towels though. Overall this resort was perfect for my family. We definitely hope to be back.

Great location and tropical landscaping. Room had most things you need except bottled water, a microwave or creamers for coffee in-room, however all were in the lobby/guest ‘canteen’ which was conveniently near our room. I was surprised to find there was a heated pool and hot tub, as our goal was beach time, riding bikes, and dining out in Carlsbad. The patio area with lots of seating and evening fire pits is nice too.

Such a cute place but it’s a super noisy building with very thin walls/ceilings. It’s not that the streets are loud, it’s other guests just doing basic things and we were by the interior parking area. I sleep in earplugs and with closed windows. Even so, other guests start making tons of noise and banging around from 5am onward, someone literally banging on our ceiling on Sunday morning, maybe a kid with a hammer? Non-stop barking dog for 2 hours on Sat morning 7-9am. We got a dogsitter and left our dog at home. I’d never inconvenience an entire hotel to avoid paying a petsitter just to leave it barking when I went for breakfast. Bed mattress wasn’t as plush/pillowtop as most hotels. All in all, though, we had a lovely staycation, enjoyed the heated pool, and continental breakfast.

The location is amazing, the pictures we saw on booking.com did not do this property justice. We booked another hotel near this property and Wes extremely disappointed as the on line photos were extremely exaggerated, and after seeing the property in person could tell that photo shop was used. Ocean Palms resort was even better in person. Such a vacation tropical vibe. Staff was super friendly and welcoming even gave us a couple free shirts.. so amazing we already have planned our next trip and will be staying here again!! See you soon!

I didn’t like that I had to leave😢

It was in an excellent position for exploring Carlsbad on foot. We were a family of 6, grandparents, son and daughter in law and two grandchildren aged 4 & 7. The kids loved it, they used the pool everyday, went to the beach most days and even used the putting green. We ate in one evening and we had everything we needed for steak on the BBQ plus salads and jacket potatoes. After being in a hotel for a week it was lovely to self cater. We ate out but lots of good restaurants we walked to. The staff were extremely welcoming. If you are a family this is a great beach side Resort.

Nothing.

I loved that we had access to the beach across the street from the hotel. I enjoyed leaving the windows open at night to listen to the ocean waves. The fire pits were on and warm at night, making for a romantic setting. The pool was heated, so you could enjoy it at any season of the year, and the jacuzzi was perfect after a day at Legoland. Legoland, the San Diego Safari Park, and Carlsbad outlets are nearby. All are within reasonable driving distance.

The only drawback is the parking situation; however, if you stay during the week, this is not an issue, mainly on the weekends. You can order groceries or food via Uber Eats or some other alternative; they are familiar with the hotel and deliver without issue.

The location of this hotel can't be beat! A quick walk to the beach as well as restaurants and shops. We definitely utilized the beach gear and towels that they provide and we loved the pastries and beverages provided in the morning. Having a full kitchen in the rooms and grills on the property was a definite bonus for us as we were able to grill almost every night and enjoy our dinner by the fire pits. Highly recommend this hotel!

The only downside I can think of is that the parking can be tough. There are only 6 on-site spots available and, if those are full, you are own your own to use the public parking around the hotel. We were able to score a close spot when we arrived, but I could see that being an issue.

The breakfast was ok. The coffee maker takes too much time time though. I liked that it was close walking distance to everything and it had gates to exit without having to go out the front.
