What a pleasant surprise! The hotel may not look like much on the outside, but the rooms are great. They have been updated with laminate flooring, bathroom has a very nice shower, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is great, just 5 min drive or 20 min walk to Grover Beach. The staff is wonderful!

To no fault of the American Inn, there is a lot of road construction going on and some streets blocked off. However, we did not hear any of the construction noise.

We came in after dark on Amtrak, so this was a few streets over from the station and a nice place to sleep overnight before heading up to Pismo Beach on the walking path near the beach. The room was great for the price. It seems like it was recently updated so no complaints from me. I booked it a few days before and everything worked out.

It was easy to find and it was clean, comfortable and a pleasant place to stop.

The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and quiet. Walk-in shower was a plus. Location is very close to the outlets and restaurants/shopping. Also very close to the monarch butterfly preserve.

The WiFi was terrible. Better off not using it, but at least cell reception there was excellent so that made up for it somewhat. If you need wifi on your trip, you’ll probably want to stay somewhere else.

Very quiet, peaceful place to Experience, staff was so very friendly and knowledgeable about what we needed. Room accommodations were perfect and relaxing for us. Bed was so comfortable and cozy. We will continue to return for future trips to Grover Beach area.

It was clean and nice . Room was well put together and organized. And it was CLEAN . No bugs . And Quiet area .friendly staff.

They could’ve had an ice machine that’s always useful or a vending machine .

We arrived very late and the gentleman on duty was very nice , friendly and welcoming. The room was clean, comfortable and safe, shower was excellent ! Would most definitely come back and recommend.

Need more than 1 coffee creamer and sugar and need to put insulated/ cups for coffee I had to use a plastic cup.

Property was very clean. I had no problem staying here. The staff here is very kind. Really enjoyed staying here & I definitely plan on coming back.

the lobby and rooma have a strong odor of incense. my husband had a really bad allergic reaction that caused headaches and asthma
