The AC hotel is very good value for money. The hotel is clean and the room are spacious. The breakfast is adequate. The 12th Street Downtown Oakland BART is very close; there is an entry from Clay street. There is a Subway and Popeyers on Clay very close and a nice cafe and Burger place right down the street on Jefferson, just past 14th. The proximity of the BART makes getting around easy. All in all a very good stay.

This has nothing to do with the hotel but the city of Oakland is clearly in trouble. Most of the storefronts around the hotel are boarded up. This gives the neighbourhood a deserted feel to it. However, my daughter and I walked and forth from and to the BART station without any concern. The place just feels deserted which was strange since I expected downtown Oakland to be buzzy. Nevertheless the hotel itself is great and the immediate area is fine. No complaints about the hotel.

The property was very nice - looked like it was recently renovated top to bottom, clean and we loved the view across the Bay from our 13th floor room. Every single staff person that we encountered was exceptional from the valet to check-in clerks to bartender to breakfast staff. Our room was super comfy for us and our little dog - they gave us dog treats and poop bags as we checked in (note there is a $50 pet fee and $60 valet fee which seems to be typical for this neighborhood). Breakfast was really good - they even had cold brew coffee which I loved.

The hotel is in a downtown office-building neighborhood - not very pretty. We saw some homeless people as you do in a place like this but did not feel unsafe.

Exceptionally clean with modern features and a spacious look. No stray hairs on sheets, towels or shower like at most hotels. Mattress looked new and had sealed cover on it. Very polite and helpful staff. The complimentary breakfast was very nice and had many options. Tasted great (With exception of the blueberry muffin). The shower had consistent water pressure. Hot water temp never fluctuated. The area seemed safe. Two security guys out front were helpful and very nice to me and my husband which we arent used to as we have alot of tattoos and look somewhat out of place in this setting. The value for the quality was exceptional and I will stay there again if I'm ever in the area. The photo submitted was the view from my window I sent to a friend.

Maybe I missed it but I didnt see a phone in the room or a way to contact front desk if needed. Or a info paper with check out.times. breakfast times and location ect. If the waters in refrigerator are complimentary or price.

Their food and drink offerings in the lounge were pretty good. The staff was very helpful and efficient. I appreciated the complimentary breakfast in the mornings--that's not something I've experienced in other hotels. The room was clean and quiet. I appreciated the minimalist design of the room--no frills, but the hotel common areas and the room still had a stylish, contemporary look and feel.

I didn't love the $50 per night valet fee, but given the location, I'm glad that I chose that option because car theft is common in the area.

The hotel felt very clean and the daily breakfast was excellent! Best breakfast we have ever had at a hotel, it was different the 2 days we where there .

No self parking, don’t waste time, valet was worth it. Oakland is a different experience from day to night. It feels dangerous when the sun sets. Wish the bathroom door was an actual door vs a sliding glass door. The glass door was pretty but no one had privacy while in the bathroom.

Excellent ‘new’ hotel in the area. Loved the location. Lots of great restaurants close by. We were given a corner room on the 14th floor facing west. Highly recommend asking for a west facing room. We always love watching the sunset over the bay before going out on the town. Our room was perfectly laid out. There was a temp programmable fridge as well as a coffee/tea maker in a closet unit to the right as you enter. The bathroom was large and had ample counter space and great lighting. The windows were appointed with blackout and white screen rolling blinds that had no light leaks. The bed had a deep featherbed that you sank into. Valet was $50/night. Not bad but we parked in the City Center lot on 14th for $25 a night through their hotel rate online. 2 min walk to the hotel.

The shower, though nice and new, was a little narrow for sharing with your partner. The water refill stations are only on random odd floors only. None are in the lobby.

We attended a concert at the Fox Theater. We walked to the venue as a group and felt relatively safe. There were some homeless people, but that is Oakland. Uber is an option. We chose to walk, and it was okay both going and returning.

The hotel was excellent in every way. We loved our view. The staff was courteous and helpful. I LOVED the valley parking and felt that it was worth every penny to keep my car safe.

Check in was easy and quick, the room was nice and clean and we were walking distance from a BART station, Chinatown and Lake Merritt. The free breakfast was decent, with several hot and cold options.

The very immediate neighborhood wasn't super nice, but no one bothered us and it was convenient in terms of access to public transit and areas we wanted to visit. The room was slightly on the small side.

The room was spacious.

We didn't like that we were charged US$4.95 for ordinary wi-fi (which was stated to be free), when we didn't want and didn't get super-fast wi-fi for streaming (which was chargeable). We didn't do any streaming or anything that needed super-fast wi-fi. When we complained, the young woman at the desk said she'd check with her manager and he'd get back to us. We still haven't heard anything from them. This is a small amount but it still stealing. There's nothing much to do in the district. Lots of closed shops for lease. Luckily we found the gardens at Lake Merritt.

Love the breakfast selection, very organized and well prepared. The location was perfect in accordance with the venue we were going to be attending. All the staff and guess as well we’re very friendly.

Everything was excellent. The only concern we had was, we could not find a full length mirror. The day we were leaving, we slid the bathroom door shut and volila There was a full length mirror lol
