Absolutely love the Ponderosa. We have booked there three times already. We have family in Magalia and this location is perfect. The rooms are huge!! Most rooms look onto the pool. We have yet to come up in the hot months to use the pool, we camp up that way in the summer. But pool and hot tub look good. The past two stays we have booked two rooms which have been joining rooms. One for my husband and I and one for our teens. Our first stay we had one room and there was more than enough room for my oldest to set up his sleeping bag on the floor. Plenty of walking space in the room. The bathrooms are also very clean! Mini frig, microwave and coffee in the room. This last time we brought a cooler and were able to microwave snacks The property is clean and inviting and staff are wonderful, and so kind!

I would only say if arriving in the evening when raining or foggy it may be a tad hard to spot the entrance. It looks like you are entering into somewhat of a business park but keep going and you’ll see the office/lobby. There is a lighted sign out front but if unfamiliar with the area it can be a little confusing. But absolutely love this place for the price!

We did not have breakfast as most of the time we don't eat one.

We have a small dog we travel with, the only place to take her to pee or poo was the weeds or asphalt. You had great landscaping every where on the property with several lawns, You could make the small lawn behind the building for pets to do their thing. You have a pet station by the entrance but NO acceptable place for dogs to due their thing. It is also a hazard for the owners of pets to walk on the grounds or should I say weed area. Other than that our stay was wonderful. Cindy was great.

This is a comfortable beautiful place to stay and relax!! They accept pets and have large areas to walk with your dogs!! The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are all on the pool area with outdoor verandas!! The staff always pleasant and helpful!! Rooms have a warm homey feel with quilts on the beds microwaves and small fridge!! We live in the area but whenever we need a break from daily grind this is the go to place!!!

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. This very rustic Charming Hotel is short on modernization but there's no shortage of charm and Superior stuff. That's not the fanciest hotel but it's the most comfortable I've been in a long time it's very rustic but it's better than anything in Chico and I know that because I moved to this hotel after 2 days in Chico. I even overbooked the night and they were kind enough to cancel that overbooking. Paradise is lovely and well on her way to being back on her feet.

I can't say that I didn't like anything but I can say I would have preferred some things to be different but didn't like his too strong.

I have stayed there maybe 10 times over the last few decades. Reliable, staff always very cheerful. Rooms are comfortable and quiet. They lost a few buildings in the 2018 fires, but still have a large amount of rooms. My cat was welcomed.

Room was staring to look a bit worn. Carpet old. Shower pressure was a bit low, but adequate.

Beautiful view of the pool from the sliding door in our room.. The greenery of the outdoor passages was beautiful as well especially at sunset. The pool/jacuzzi and outdoor shower were all refreshing. As was the cleanliness. Pretty vibe in The store up front where you check out. The beds were comfortable as well.

Randomly in the middle of the night the cable went out. Would’ve been nice to not lose wifi. Left early to take my girls to school and when I came back the room was already being cleaned as if I checked out. Not a big deal jus ddnt expect that.

Beautiful ground's and the place was very nice and clean! Wonderful beds and a very comfortable recliner. It's a place that I feel very comfortable staying by myself and felt very safe! I loved it so much that I stayed two months in a row! Staff were very friendly and helpful. A great place to get away from the stress of the world and just relax!

Paper thin walls. Though non smoking in rooms, guests can smoke on their patios so that cig smoke easily penetrates into nearby rooms even if sliding doors are closed Typical prepackaged breakfast items

They have done some upgrades and additions. The pool is very relaxing. Beds comfortable. I travel with my elderly mom so it is really nice to not have to worry. Jen and Cindy are awesome! Thanks again! See y'all soon!

Room 28 needs a better fridge and freezer combo.

The grounds at the property were very nice incorporating the pool and hot tub in a garden like setting. The beds were comfortable and the room was very clean. The small patio overlooking the pool was a nice feature.

It is an older property but kept in very good condition. However, it is a bit outdated as to furniture and accessories.
