What an absolutely charming alternative to a hotel. Plus you get a "boat" load of history with it. Warning it can be difficult to find especially if you are arriving at night. But what an amazing restoration they have done. The rooms are cozy (might be a bit closed in for some) and the old world charm is over the top. The fact that you are actually ON the river is just soothing and picturesque. I loved sitting out on the deck, with a light snack and beverage and my book after a morning of walking around Old Town. Forget the hotels! This is the way to stay in Sacramento.

Nothing really, everything far exceed my expectations.

We travelled for the WSM event so the location was ideal being only 3 minutes walk away. It is a novel concept and the standard room was a decent size.

It was cool to have sealions on the pier opposite the boat but they were noisy throughout the night and early morning, even with ear plugs. On the weekend there were also many loud boats blaring music throughout the evening. The valet parking was effectively the hotel parking your vehicle in the multi-storey at the end of the road, easy enough to park it there yourself for a lower rate.

My check-in was easy enough; we got a small surprise with free drink vouchers for the bar. The room overlooked the riverside, and if you're like my wife and I, you may enjoy the seals and their random songs through the night. The place was undergoing some renovations in the bar area, so we did not get to experience that part of the boat. However, they did their best to accommodate the guests in the dining area. They had live music and the staff was very kind. Walking around the boat transported you back in time a bit. If you love history or are a nostaligist, I would highly recommend a stay here. The small creaks and groans added to the historical ambiance of the place, and it was definitely welcome from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone who has an open mind and wants to experience Old Town Sacramento with ease and joy. My wife loved that they captured so much of the history and basically have a time capsule on the water. What else can I say? We adored every minute of our stay.

It was a bit confusing to find at first due to parking. But if you valet through the hotel, that won't be a problem. Lesson learned, pay the $30, and make it easier on yourself. Other than that, it was perfect.

The uniqueness of it. That it has a restaurant on premise. The location, because we were there in Old Sacramento to ride the Polar Express train and were literally delivered to the front of the hotel! It was fabulous!! Food was great, cocktails great, service spectacular!

Not a thing! The view of the river, the barking & antics of the seals, the view of the pyramid building and the diamond building(as my grandson called the glass front building!) were fun. Yes, the rooms are small & bathrooms even smaller. Duh! It’s a small old boat!! But the bed was comfortable, it had the amenities. Coffee, TV, desk, phone, great lighting, heat. No suggestions at all. Will return.

Beautiful and unique place to stay in Old Town Sacramento. Friendly and accommodating staff, good restaurant, and the historic charm of staying on a floating paddle wheeler right on the river is an unbeatable experience. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the sea lions are loud throughout the night and I was woken in the night, even with the provided earplugs. That said, they did quiet down and I was able to fall back asleep. Even with the sea lions, I would highly recommend for a one night stay.

The Delta King has a charming nautical vibe and staff are friendly and helpful. The location could not be better with views of either the river or Old Sacramento. I ate dinner one night in the restaurant--good clam chowder and excellent service; my table had a nice river view.

The bathroom is a little outdated with a clawfoot shower. The blanket was skimpy--I had to keep the heat cranked in order to be warm enough at night. Two hour street parking from 10 PM to 10 AM, so if you arrive earlier you either have to park in the lot a couple of blocks away or use valet parking -- when I drove up there was not a valet in sight.

We really enjoyed our stay on the Delta King! On check in the staff member was very welcoming and friendly. There's a valet parking service if needed. We had arrived a little early so had a drink in the bar while we waited, the drinks, atmosphere and staff in the bar were exceptional! We were offered an additional free drink on check in which we also enjoyed during our stay! Our room was lovely - not a lot of room but as you would expect on a boat - with air con and lovely views of the river (and a sea lion!). We enjoyed dinner in the restaurant. We also checked out the lower deck where there is information and photos about the history of the Delta King! Old Sacramento Historic Park is also a great visit. We really enjoyed our stay on board.

I love the boat. It's so neat to stay on a riverboat and the location is amazing. You're right there in old town Sacramento so it's really cool to walk along the wooden sidewalks and going to all the old fashion shops. Super convenient there's plenty of restaurants. The capital is actually very close to which is if you can catch a tour is so amazing. Also, the baseball stadium and you can sometimes see fireworks And being on the river is so great. You were also close to the dock where the boat tours start, which is really great.

It is so beautiful. The valet was nice. I love that there are snacks sold in the lobby. The staff were all very professional and friendly. Convenient to have a restaurant on board. You can hear sea lions and see them laying out close by. It’s close to so many things. Walking distance to the stadiums. The room was clean and comfortable.

You have to walk on a wooden plank road to get to the hotel. The air conditioning was on too high. At night it was really cold.
