Location can’t be beat! Right across the street from Hotel Del and what we think is the best stretch of beach for families. Great value for a family of four by booking a one bedroom suite with sofa bed. If we stayed longer we would’ve definitely used the kitchenette to make breakfast.

Some (but not all) of the front desk staff aren’t very warm. Travelling with young children is already stressful enough. Having a standoffish reception at the hotel is discouraging.

Location is excellent. We walked to the tourist bus stop, so we got around ll of San Diego easily. Lots of restaurants, shops, sightseeing right there on Coronado. El Cordova is a unique place to stay. The restaurant downstairs is a little noisy at night but it didn't bother me. Nice looking pool that I didn't have a chance to enjoy. The first picture is the Hotel del Coronado across the street. The second one at the Little Frenchie restaurant down the block. The third the view from our hotel porch off the kitchen.

Be aware the second floor requires steps. I don't think there is an elevator.

El Cordova is located just across the street from the beach and shops and restaurants. The best location.

When we woke up after our first night and began to wash up in the morning, the sink would not drain. It was completely clogged. The shower handle was difficult to use and scalded us that first morning. Broken lamp in living room too. It was a very noisy hotel. It is not possible to sleep in. There is an alley for deliveries just outside the bedroom windows. While we were there, it seemed that the guests and cleaning staff dragged their carts and luggage up the stairs making lots of "thud" noises early in the morning.

Location is outstanding, right across from the Del. The building is a little quirky, all the rooms are accessed from the outdoors and all surround a restaurant patio/courtyard area. Our room had a little kitchen, which was unexpected. We had no use for it this trip, but could be nice for someone on a longer stay.

Building is def quirky. As mentioned, all the rooms are accessed externally. But the doors to the stairs leading up to the rooms do not have keycard locks. We had no issues but could potentially be a security issue or for people who tend to worry about such things.

Amazing location, across the street from the Hotel Coronado and the beach. Easily walkable to all the shops and restaurants. The hotel is a great value for the location and space. We enjoyed our one bedroom suite room - it was very spacious, and found the bed to be comfortable. It is a charming place with character and has a nice courtyard. Nice staff.

The TV (couldn't figure it out). Cleanliness could be improved. Luckily found 2-hour parking right around the hotel when we needed it, so didn't pay for parking, but did have to continue to move the car.

Definitely an older property, but that is the charm in my opinion. I thought the landscaping dead underbrush out front needs to definitely be raked out And tidy it up . Not sure if this is something that is the responsibility of the property. But for where you are during your stay, this place is definitely a nine out of 10. Will seriously consider it again next year because it’s great just the park and walk around. Everything you need is right there, including my opinion one of the best beaches and all of San Diego..?

Nothing really to complain about since it is an older property I mean, I think some folks May frown a bit, but we had a one bedroom with a little kitchen, and while it was a little tight that is to be expected with an older property, but again the location trumped all of that. We loved it..

Staff was friendly, hotel was so convenient to everything we needed. The hotel was very cozy and Spanish oriented and it’s just a very nice place 

There weren’t many things we didn’t like, I know that we had most of our family staying there since 150 of us came into town for a family wedding at the Del, and a couple of family members stayed on upper levels, and had trouble over the restaurant and some maintenance that was going on around them they couldn’t sleep and I guess they had air conditioner problems. And another family members toilet was not actually connected very well to the floor. But the staff was very good about getting to any of our immediate issues that we had when we first got there.

Great location on Orange Ave.

The only negative item was our room was on the first floor and the family above us had small children that were also early risers. The kids would get up at around 5:00 am and run back and forth across the floor which resulted in an earlier start to our day. I have kids and know how traveling with them can be challenging however since it was summer time and nice weather, even early in the morning, it would have been nice for the parents to take the kids outside so they could burn some energy. I mentioned the noise to the front desk but I don't know what they could do. Adivce- try to book a room on the second floor.

We had a suite with a small kitchen and small bathroom. TV in sitting area and bedroom. It had everything we needed. Enjoyed the heated pool and hot tub. Walked to groceries and dining. Bus stop right outside the property.

We enjoyed the property. However there could be issues for others. The stairs for 2nd floor properties are steep and narrow which would be an issue for people with mobility issues. Our property has traffic noise during the day and early evening.

Great location close to the beach. We had a well-equipped, clean room which was above the pool. The bed was massive and very comfortable. We asked if our room could be moved from the restaurant because we had read reviews to say it was noisy, and the front desk staff was very accommodating. Free on street parking was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. You can unload your luggage at the loading bay directly outside the hotel. We didn’t pay $40 to park the car! The San Diego trolley tour stop is near to the hotel too. As we only had one day in the city, this was a great way to see it. Would recommend!

The rooms were slightly dated but clean so not a big deal.
