The staff was very pleasant and friendly. There were many "little" things that were nice -- like hooks installed on the back of the bathroom door, and other hook for having one's towel so you could reach it easily when stepping out of the shower. Beds were comfortable, and the colorful bedspread was also attractive.

We would have liked a coffee maker in the room -- but the coffee available in the office WAS very good quality.

It’s really perfectly located and the couple who run the place are just the cutest! The place is super clean! I’m always cautious with these kind of motels because sometimes there’s other weird guests around, but I have to say this one is very cute and at no moment I had a weird feeling about staying in a motel! Would go there any time again!

I loved the location. Short distance to everything I needed to get to. I was pleasantly surprised. Initially I thought the last time I booked in this price range, the room was just ok. (Different property.) I was very happy with my room. It was important to me that the property has a pool, although I was too tired to use it. Everything was clean and well kept. I felt very comfortable.

The angle of the showerhead was not to my liking. It sort of shot more outwards instead of down. It would not adjust.

I liked the clean beds and vintage decore. The location is pretty close to a lot of neat sites. The minifridge was really useful for drinks and medication.

I didn't like the discrepancy between booking.com and the hotel. Hotel told me they opened for rooms at four, but the site says two o clock. I think they need to communicate a little better.

There was no breakfast at the facility just coffee. Breakfast options were close by

The beds and pillows could have been better. Rose was very personable and helpful. Traffic was very bad because the bridge to the yacht harbor is being redone. We ended up avoiding beaches on that side of town

The bed was huge and very comfortable! The receptionist was very kind and helpful. My friend and I stayed in this motel while seeing a concert in the Catalyst. My friend and I were perfectly comfortable walking around after dark. This hotel was in a perfect location, it isn’t too far from downtown (about a 10 minute walk) or the boardwalk (a 10 minute drive). Most importantly, my friend and I felt safe staying here. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality place to stay.

Their wifi was very slow and we had to use our service instead of the wifi. Also their parking lot is a little small so when the lot started to fill up, parking was a little tedious.

I like loved the fact that the room was super clean and cozy. It had a nice size refrigerator and a microwave which I was very happy about because I brought food with me that needed to be refrigerated. I didn’t have to go out and buy food or order in. I was able to heat my food in the microwave, sit back, relax and enjoy my stay. I will definitely be back and hope to get the same room on a regular basis. I highly recommend The Islander Motel.

Owners were very nice and you could see how hard they worked to make this place feel comfortable. Lots of parking for a small motel and even some covered parking spots. The room had all the amenities you need, microwave/fridge/blow dryer/iron. Quiet and we felt safe even when we returned to our room after 10pm.

Bed was very Firm, also it was a little hard to find the entrance off the street.

Cozy rooms. Well maintained. Safer neigborhood. Small family run facility. Nice little pool and plenty of parking, including some in the shade! THAI ACROSS OCEAN ST. SANTA CRUZ DINER UP OCEAN ST.CHINESE DOWN OCEAN STREET .WHY STAY ANYWHERE ELSE?

Friendly checkin, clean room, super comfy bed, nice linens and towels, AC worked well, nice to have a fridge and micro in the room.

No coffee pot in room and office where coffee machine is located did not open until 630am even though the lights were on in the office and the sign said "open" at 615am, the office personnel turned me away.
