It was great. More than I expected and I really like the pool location. The first time I stayed was when the breakfast was served behind the front desk area. New location is fantastic.

Not a knock on Sandman, but I booked through booking.com. Bad experience so far. I wanted to cancel an additional room I booked due to my colleague canceling the trip for health reasons. I called 24hrs before arrival and the front office staff approved the cancellation without penalty, but booking.com has a process that doesn't make sense. The customer service agent said they'd refund me for that room, no problem. But the next day said they can't, then they said they sent the hotel an email that needs to be responded to, but wouldn't say what email and the hotel manager said they never received any email. All parties were on the phone, but booking.com was making everything difficult. I'm currently disputing the charge on our card.

Parking was great. I liked the mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven and “kitchen” sink. I liked that they had a small bottle of dish soap and a kitchen towel so I could clean the dishes and silverware I brought from home. I also liked that I was able to log into my Netflix account on the tv with ease.

The bed was hard as a rock. Felt like sleeping on a table and I woke up feeling bruised each morning. The coffee maker had coffee grounds in it. I tried flushing it out 8-10 times but it did not get rid of the coffee grounds so I was unable to use it. There was a long white hair on my bath towel and there were short brown hairs throughout the bathroom and shower.

Large facility but well run. Looks like the rooms were remodeled, good job, bathroom excellent, bedside lighting not so good but OK. Nice pool, lots of activity but it closes at 10 and things quiet down well. Typical of this type of facility walls are thin and if noisy neighbors/kids can be a problem. First room for me it was but I asked to be moved and no problem…they moved me to an area that had quiet neighbors. They have security so autos pretty safe, my TV was not working once and a maintainence worker showed up in about 5 minutes. Again, it’s well managed and they try hard…I’d stay here again.

There was not anything that bothered me. The place was quite full, people walking and talking all day, but come shortly after 10pm it got quiet and no problem sleeping.

We stayed there because of a medical procedure that my husband had nearby. The location was perfect - close to hospital, close to shopping (Trader Joe's is a 5 minute walk, so I could get snacks without having to drive somewhere). I liked the fact that it had a fridge and a microwave, because we are both on restrictive diets and don't go out to eat a lot because of it. The room was super clean and the bed was very comfortable (we like it on the firm side). We could park our car right in front of the window, so loading and unloading was easy.

There was only one (albeit comfortable) chair in the room.

The Sandman is convenient to restaurants, gas, groceries, and the Luther Burbank Center for Performing Arts, which is why I selected it. The shower was beautifully tiled, the room was large, and the bed was very comfortable. The room was quiet, and I heard no guests in the rooms around me. The large pool was popular with many of the guests. The staff were friendly and helpful. I loved that they welcomed the canine guests by listing their names on a white board.

My only criticism is the complementary breakfast was the standard, uninspired fare, and they ran out of scrambled eggs before the 9AM cutoff time.

Staff at the desk was friendly, attentive and helpful. The room was clean, didn't smell bad (no stinky laundry products on the linens!), seems to have been remodeled within recent memory by someone with decent taste and despite proximity to the freeway was pretty quiet (until other guests and their children woke up in the morning, anyway). Brewed coffee and filtered hot water for tea were freely available in the reception area, even for those of us who didn't book the breakfast. Out in back, away from the street and the rooms, there was a nice-looking swimming pool and quiet space to relax, walk dogs etc.

Instructions to access Wi-Fi in the room were insufficient (we needed a username?). No doubt the front desk staff could have helped but we didn't need it badly enough to take the time to ask them about it.

Almost everything was above expectations. Room cleanliness, breakfast, facilities in general

The one detraction was the pool, specifically the cleanliness of the pool. The first two days were fine. By Friday the water was cloudy, clear piles of sand and knots of hair. More frequent cleaning is probably needed, especially on the really hot weeks. Overall though we enjoyed it.

Convenient location for car drivers needing an affordable Santa Rosa stay. Old motel that’s been remodeled into a cute space with some higher end touches like new fixtures, nice shower soaps, smart tv.

Breakfast. Albeit free, it was subpar. Best part was fresh fruit offering: apple, orange, banana. No tea available in room nor breakfast space. Coffee, yes, but tea that costs just pennies and is available around the world, no.

The property is clean and they don’t seem to be all in your business. I’ve stayed at the Hotel in Santa Rosa many many times and they have yet to disappoint me. They’ve done an exceptional job on re-vamping that location. The staff have been nice. Overall it’s a 10 for me. The best part is, the pool and hot tub area stays open until 10pm. You actually feel like you are on vacation, it’s so serene .

Not enough bath towels, ice machines and they don’t have any vending machines.

Everything was good, I got there really late by not knowing that there was no taxis at the airport at 1:00am. A young man named Brian was awesome helping my heavy luggage to upstairs/no elevator and very friendly, kind. Breakfast was fine for me bagels, croissants scrambled baked egg, instant oatmeal and drinks. I don't eat much. I didn't have time to use, but swimming pool looks clean and heated, Jacuzzi hot tub looks inviting and opened 24hs. Most importantly the room and bathroom was clean, bed was comfy, shower had good water pressure, had refrigerator, microwave, all I needed. Thank you for your help, Brian!

One small thing: The window blind needs to replace for I see the bottom part was broken, cheap quality I could see inside when I lowered myself to look in to see. So, I tried to fix, but I couldn't. Just turned lights off and wearing properly until checked out.
