They put in a corner room which had a nice view. First time visiting Silverton and would visit again.. The Hotel was nice and had an 1800's vibe.
When we walked into our room, it was 80 degrees. Opened up a second window to get somewhat of a cross breeze. No AC. Also windows had no screens so open for any bugs/mosquitoes to enter. Came back to room after it had cooled down outside in the evening. Fortunately had blinds. For what we paid maybe they ought to get some portable AC units to use as needed. Wouldnt have problem venting out thru screenless windows. Since a ski town gets cold there and AC systems may noy make sense. This is where portable units more feasible and cost effective.

This is a beautiful hotel with excellent views and historic vibe. There was no better place for aspen colors than Silverton this year. We traveled around (including Kebler Pass and Crested Butte) this week with our drive to and from Denver; and the drive between Ouray and Durango, with Silverton being our home base, was the very best. The hotel has the finest, softest sheets and comfy beds, with glorious views of the colorful mountains blanketed in yellows, oranges and reds due to the overwhelming number of aspens in the area. So happy we stayed here.
I will be bringing my own pillows next time. The pillows were pretty hard - reminding me of our time in Ireland this year where there were no good pillows anywhere we stayed. Why can't top hotels replace their pillows more often with softer and more resilient pillows? Costco and Target can make it a reasonable cost for these hotels.

Glorious old hotel with an illustrious history. Many interesting artifacts like the antique carved lobby piano brought from Wanamakers in Philadelphia around 1900. Owners are doing a wonderful job keeping the building alive & well! Located right in the heart of Silverton within walking distance to everything in town. The Lacy Rose Saloon next door serves cocktails & great meals.
We loved the experience! A few issues might make a difference to some, though. The climb to a 3rd floor room at an elevation of 9,300' can be a bit "breathtaking." Our room had very few outlets for charging devices - welcome to the past! We chose a small, 3rd floor room with a full sized bed, and it was indeed small. But a sitting area on the 3rd floor offered a comfortable place to relax with our complimentary morning coffee.

Good bed. Clean room. Beautiful modern bathroom in an otherwise beautifully decorated Victorian period motel. Within walking distance of all shopping and the Silverton train depot. Located right on main, but was still very quiet.
Be aware there are no rooms on the 1st floor! Second floor is 30 steps! 3rd probably another 20 at least! The first room they gave us was on the 3rd floor. We are in our seventies. 😣 But they miraculously found 2 rooms available on the 2nd floor. Thank God. 30 steps was enough!

The history of the place. Very welcoming staff. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. We visited in off season, and it was super quiet. We enjoyed the cafe next door.
Needed more lighting in the hotel itself and an extra nightstand and lamp for other side of bed. We didn't know there was no AC, but we opened window and that worked. Carpet on the floor is not my favorite. Of course not having an elevator and staying on the third floor was not fun.

The historic hotel is very comfortable, small refrigerator in our room, modern bathroom fixtures, and windows that open (unlike big city hotels).
The sofa in our room was the most uncomfortable piece of furniture I have sat on in years. It is nice to have an old Victorian piece of furniture but it should be reconditioned to make it comfortable to sit on.

The property itself is beautiful, historic, ideally situated in the center of town. My third-floor room was very small, the only place to sit was on the bed, and the shower/tub combo was not ideal (tub much too high to get in/out). The staff, however, was exceptionally friendly, kind and welcoming.
Room too small. No chair/place to sit. Tub/shower combo not ideal, too risky to climb in and out.

I loved that it was a historical land mark and it was right there on the strip of Silverton. Very very clean!
No elevators. I didn’t mind but be warned that if you are traveling with elderly people it is hard to climb the stairs. Also everything food wise in Silverton closes between 8-9 and the only places open were the bars in which they do not serve food after 9! Nothing bad about the property. I adored it!

Beautiful historic hotel - updated but still had the authentic heritage feel. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Liked the coffee/water station on the ground floor.
Shower curtain was a bit awkward as curtain had to be pulled over the faucet handles and soap dish so had to reach under the curtain to get to shampoo and soap and to adjust the water temperature.

Everything. Location, staff, convenience. I had an issue with my payment going thru and I talked to a couple different staff members, one being the manager & they were just exceptional & went above & beyond to help me. They were very accommodating & I am very thankful for them. We will be back for sure!
Nothing.
