I don’t eat breakfast, so the apple was a welcomed thing to have at the front desk. I appreciated that they were cold and clean. We actually had drinks in the lounge, and Wolf was an excellent waiter. We also had dinner that night. We decided to stay at the hotel. I cannot express to you how delighted we were with the meal.

I did not appreciate the hostess at the front door. The day we stayed, she checked us in for an evening reservation. She rolled her eyes, she seemed bothered with us. Which is a shame considering we spent $360 at night at dinner. She was the only disappointment. And I wanna make it clear it was not the older lady who was sweeping that night, it was the younger lady who was there all day.

The hotel is lovely with neat decorations. The location can’t be beat. There’s a great energy in this area of Chicago. Our dinner was excellent, and in the morning there’s a Petes coffee just down the road, which is a super location to people watch. The hotel is also close to the museum of science and industry. We were very tired and had to park a couple of blocks away, but the parking itself is very easy to do and it was really just a short walk back to the hotel so not an issue at all.

I liked the fact that the hotel is located in an area with lots of restaurants in walking distance. The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating. I did find the room to be attractive and comfortable. I loved the artwork throughout the rooms and in the hallway. I would definitely visit again.

One thing I can say is that I would have liked the weekend menu to be the same as the weekly menu because it offered more variety with breakfast foods.

Wonderful! Beautiful hotel, clean well appointed room. Small neighborhood vibe, close to University of Chicago hospital. My Dad and I stayed while my mom was in ICU at the hospital. Chris, at the front desk, was AMAZING. He was kind, welcoming, compassionate and helped us with parking and reservations. Chris and the Sophy were a gem in a different time. Thank you!

Property was located near a ton a nice restaurants and shopping.

The only issue I had with the stay was that I waited over a hour and a half after check in time. Sent multiple emails to the management concerning this issue and never has received a response. The stay was perfect but the follow up to my issue is non existent.

Beds were very comfortable with good quality bed linen. Food is restaurant was very good. Decor was great

Hosting staff in bar were verging on rude. Unpleasant and unhelpful. The two young girls need training in manners. Created an unpleasant first impression of hotel. Other staff very pleasant..Tanisha, Martez, Joshua, Nikki, and the other restaurant staff. Abd also the cleaning lady on the 7th floor. And Derek the maintenance guy who came to check our air conditioning.

This place is beautiful and so clean. The staff was friendly and the room was so comfortable. Once again it's very clean. Restaurant's and other shops in walking distance. I ate at the Mesler located in the hotel, good food and vibe. The shrimp and grits was delicious and the apple martini 😁

The Parking was a block away and $34 a night

Great location for visiting the University of Chicago. Short walk to campus, very close to upperclassmen apartments. Plenty of dining option nearby to treat your students. Hotel has a cozy feel with a touch of hip. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the breakfast ate the hotel restaurant.

There was a party on our floor on our first night which made it a bit noisy.

Great room, free morning coffee, friendly staff. Its all good. Mesler for breakfast was also a good experience. This is my fourth stay at the Sophy and its consistently top quality.

I wish you had parking on site in the back, but I know its limited in the area. The garage you use was fine, its just the day I needed it was the coldest day of the weekend so that wasn't fun to haul a block to and from.

The stuff is always friendly and helpful, the hotel is clean and the esthetics of the hotel are very cool. The food from the restaurant??!!!! Delicious! Highly recommend!
