The vibe, it is a great hotel, well located and it has a lot of activities (bar, coffee and restaurant).

My only problem with the hotel was that I paid to have breakfast and I didn’t know it was an amount ($25) per day and per person. And it was even more frustrating when I saw my bill and they didn’t discount it, so I asked in the reception and she did, but she said the amount was in fact $20, so I had to show my reservation to get the correct amount. And all this discussion took me more than 30 minutes.

The hotel is in the perfect location. Walking distance to so many great restaurants, the River Walk, the Magnificent Mile, Millennium Park, and the L Train to take us everywhere else we wanted to go! The food at Ms. Ricky's was amazing and we also liked the coffee shop, Two Zero Three. The bed was super comfortable and the room was a great size.

The bar on the top floor brought in a huge crowd every night which clogged up the lobby and the elevators. There were times we had to wait for 4-5 elevators to get back up to our room because there were so many people in the lobby waiting to get up to the rooftop bar. I think at least 2 of the elevators should be dedicated to hotel guests only. I am also a light sleeper and the hotel is close to the train line. The noise kept me up the first night. I used a white noise app the rest of the trip and that helped.

The bed was super comfortable and the shower was marvelous (I’m a shower snob and now I want one of those in my bathroom 😀).

The area outside of the hotel can be pretty sketchy at night. My husband and I had an unpleasant experience on the night of arrival. It’s not really the hotel’s fault, but it’s important to be aware of one’s surroundings, especially at night.

The architectural detail in the lobby. The room we stayed in had a door divider making it two rooms which was really nice because my husband gets up earlier than I do. The his and her closets were wonderful. The beds were comfy. The room super clean. The cleaning staff was so friendly. The view was nice - we were on the 15th floor. It was a lovely place to stay.

It’s not that we didn’t like it but we would have liked to have used the 26th floor rooftop. But the times we checked it out there were private parties going on. And it was loud! Would be nice to have a section for older folks that just want to have a nice quiet happy hour on the roof top with that gorgeous view. Maybe it was our timing but it definitely had a club vibe when we check it out. The L can be a little loud but nothing ear plugs can’t take care of. It’s a city so to be expected and nothing the hotel can do about it.

The room was incredibly spacious. We stayed in a King room, the view could have been better but as we spent majority of our time outside of the hotel, it wasn't an issue for us. I was concerned with the noise as they gave us the room right opposite the elevator but that turned out to be a non issue also. The hotel was kind enough to leave out ear plugs for us but we didn't feel the need to use it as the hotel or maybe the room we stayed in was relatively quiet. The room and bathroom was clean and the hotel was conveniently located. About 5 minutes walk to the Riverwalk and 20 minutes to Navy Pier. There are restaurants around the hotel but they can be a bit pricey due to location of the hotel. Staff were friendly and always willing to help. All in all, a brilliant stay for our first time in Chicago.

Nothing.

This hotel is very aesthetic. If you appreciate a stylish hotel, this is for you. I really liked the location. Nearly everywhere I wanted to go (excluding a couple of restaurants) was easily walkable from this location. I also really liked the layout of the room. I thought it was well-appointed, and I appreciated the little table and the (larger) mini fridge. The wine glasses were a nice touch. I did not try any of the food & beverage offerings but the rooftop bar and coffee shop on the first floor are nice to have.

This hotel is extremely close to the train. Earplugs might help if you are sensitive to sound (they should offer them in room!). I did not love the brand of toiletries in the rooms but that is a personal preference. The showers are those big rain showers or a handheld shower. Due to the type of shower, I would also like to see shower caps offered in room. Also, the bed was very soft, so if you prefer a firm mattress, this hotel might not be for you.

We loved the hotel and would definitely stay here again. The fact that it was pet friendly but also aesthetically pleasing was great. The staff was always very friendly. The coffee shop and roof top bar were a great bonus. It was also very quiet and close walking distance to many places. It was a great stay at a good price.

It would have been nice if there was a dedicated pet area. The walking map was a bit misleading as the stairwell by the river was closed off and it was kind of a far walk. The fridge also didn't have room to put any left over food from restaurants or items that we brought.

Very clean and large room. Super quiet. Responsive staff. Nice coffee service in the room. Good location.

The hot water in the shower fluctuated from extremely hot to cold the whole time we were there. The first day we went down to breakfast we were told it was a 30 minute wait so we went somewhere else. The second day we had made reservations and we had a very good experience. We made a reservation for the third day and when we went down, we had a completely different experience. There were different servers and they completely ignored us. So we left. We were flying out on the last day and so did not risk even trying it.

Good central location, close to everything and easy access to transportation, attractions, food, shopping. Well designed, cosy and comfortable rooms. Helpful friendly staff from front desk, housekeeping, concierge and valet. Well stocked toiletries and towels. No issue with downtown/train noise. Strong water pressure for shower. Comfortable bed and many pillows (both on the soft side though).

Cramped sleeping space. Not much room to maneuver or open suitcases. Lack of flat surface area to place items in the sleeping area. Inconsistent air conditioning temperature. Took a long time to adjust water temperature. City view was only the back of some buildings. TV channels could be improved. Could not find preloaded streaming apps on the TV.

Great location for visiting Chicago, the facilities are top notch, the rooms are comfortable and extremely clean and the staff was great.

Sad to learn that housekeeping personnel are not paid a fair wage and their contract doesn't guarantee them enough to make a living and to support their family. I really enjoyed my stay here, and a big part of the merit goes to the staff. I wouldn't stay at another Virgin Hotel unless management takes actionable steps towards providing a fair contract to the housekeeping personnel.
