The breakfast was wonderful - really enjoyed the "overnight" oatmeal. The gentleman who took care of the buffet and bussed the tables was friendly and efficient. The location was a little outside of town, but we walked to and from on 2 days; it was a little bit of a challenge with the hills, but certainly wasn't a problem. We also liked the trail in the back - walked back there and saw a deer. The room was nice and spacious.

We were a little disappointed at the pub not being open for dinner Monday night, but understand that the staff needs a break.

We've stayed at the Irish Cottage Inn and Suites before, and every time is a delight! We had three separate rooms booked, but the hotel did a wonderful job of making sure our rooms were near each other. The breakfast was delicious and not repetitive and they made it easy to get into and out of downtown Galena. We liked our stay so much that we ended up booking an extra night while we were there. They were able to keep two of the three rooms we had previously booked which made it that much easier for us! We'll be back!

The gift shop was great. The scones, tea sandwiches, coffee and tea being available was a wonderful surprise. We had the free breakfast and that was really good. The check in guy was really nice and welcoming. A great first impression. He was kind, warm, informative, and friendly. He acted as if we were important. We really appreciated him and his great attitude.

The Irish pub on site was rather expensive so we left and ate elsewhere. The ladies who were at the front desk weren't warm and friendly. They were polite, but really could have been a bit more charming to increase the draw of the hotel. We were using the small room off the library for a small gift exchange, but at 11 pm, the lady came in very forcefully and sounded rather mean when she told us we needed to leave since the room was closing. We all made comments that she could have been a little nicer. Her nasty attitude left a very poor impression.

Great location. Front desk staff was friendly & helpful. We enjoyed the property and all that it included - walking path, afternoon tea, pool/hot tub, and restaurant/bar even though the restaurant was closed on Monday except for breakfast. The restaurant even had free live entertainment & bartender and waitress were very attentive. Centrally located to downtown Galena (less than a miles) and other historical attractions (some a 2–3-minute ride away). Hotel offered free shuttle service (did not use) however it ran until 7pm and was on-demand. I would certainly book this property again although booking.com charged me an extra $100 even though it was not quoted, and I paid hotel at time of arrival (waiting to hear back from booking.com regarding this extra, unexpected $100 charge).

The Inn was very well taken care of and the woodwork was beautiful. The attached pub and restaurant was very nice and the food was great. They had enjoyable musical entertainment in the evening. The Inn offered a shuttle service to Galena that was a huge perk considering it is nearly impossible to find places to park on the weekend. The driver was very personable and prompt. I will definitely stay here again!

It would have been nice if they had a small section of sundries (shampoo, toothpaste, hairspray, etc) in their little store for purchase.

We stayed for 3 nights. The King Suite (separate bedroom & jacuzzi tub) was perfect! Our room was on the first floor, with a parking spot directly outside of our rooms sliding glass door, which made keeping an eye on our motorcycles easy. The room was very clean, comfortable, modern & charming. The entire hotel is amazing! So much old world Irish charm! Amazing woodwork, and stained/leaded glass details. The library…I’ve never stayed in a hotel with a library before!So cool! The staff that I interacted with were wonderful! Frank O’Doud’s Irish Pub is such a gem! My husband and I aren’t really ‘bar people’, but we ended up sending quite a bit of time at Frank’s because the atmosphere is so cool, and the food is amazing!!! The live music is good, too! It really makes you feel like you’re in an authentic Irish Pub! They provide a complimentary buffet-style breakfast at Frank’s that we really enjoyed. There is a shuttle service from the hotel to downtown Galena. We didn’t use the shuttle service (only because we prefer to ride our motorcycles around), but we chatted with the shuttle driver for a bit (I think his name is Brian?), and he’s a really cool dude! I highly recommend Irish Cottage Inn!

The bar was a lot of fun. The room was cleaning ladies were great. Parking was good. The restaurant feels like a pub. and the Entertaiment was pretty good. And the rooms were clean.

The breakfast was not very good, dessert bowls are not large enough for oatmeal. Nothing looked very appetizing. And I do not care for a resort fee's I think they are unfair to the consumer. That said I just went to other places for breakfast and a good cup of coffee. The town always calls me back

We have stayed here many times and always enjoy it. The property has recently been renovated and it looks very nice, fresh. The beds and the bedding are very comfortable and the rooms are always spotless. The breakfast is a hot buffet with plenty of food. The afternoon tea time with mini sandwiches is a nice touch. They provide a trolley to the downtown area (although we have not used it). It's nice to have the pub attached to the hotel, we usually get a drink and listen to the music. Very comfortable.

The first day we had breakfast they seemed short staffed and ran out of coffee.

The decor was great. Not plastic and sterile as in many hotels. The restaurant was top notch from breakfast being not the usual fare but a real breakfast buffet to the fantastic dinner. The pork medallions with the seasoned vegetables was out of this world. The beer selection was very wide covering the light to the hearty. My Black and Tan was a very nice match for dinner.

The lack of daily maid visits was a little strange. It almost feels like many resorts that do the same. Not an issue for me.

Room was very comfy and very clean. Desk staff was very professional. Breakfast was fantastic - it was quite a treat to be served a complimentary breakfast in the dinning room of the hotel's restaurant. The dinning room was amazing - charming, spacious, comfortable, classy-casual. The Breakfast attendant was on top of things and friendly, and the food was delicious.
