For me, the value of Tru was in the details beyond the baseline you would expect from a mid-range hotel, such as cleanliness, quietness, a comfortable bed, staff friendliness, etc. Thoughtful details raised the hotel's profile for me. For example, its decent gym offered a filtered-water station. The milk in the yogurt at breakfast was from pasture-raised cows. The bathroom had refillable mounted squeeze bottles of hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash -- to reduce the plastic waste of all those tiny individual bottles that hotels normally offer. Add to that things like sound-muffling pods in the lobby for those who want to read, study, or work on a laptop, plus foosball and pool tables and fun and clever signage, and you have a hotel that is as thoughtful and playful as it is clean and comfy.

Only one thing bothered me, and that was the logos on the home screen of the room TV that seemed to imply you could get Netflix or Peloton programming in your room. But it seemed that this was only if you already had a personal account and your password. The hotel was not offering the programming for free -- unless I misunderstood the setup. It was providing just the easier, clickable entry to your personal accounts. That set up an expectation that was disappointing, as I have neither Netflix nor Peloton accounts but would have liked to try both during my stay.

Very clean hotel and room. Etremely easy check-in with the app on my phone. I checked in a day early using my phone. Picked a room on the app and got a digital key. Never went to the front desk. Came in the side door, scanned the outside door with the digital key on the app (shake the phone at the lock), walked down the hall a few feet, scanned room door using the digital key on my phone. It unlocked no problem. Stayed 1 night and checked out next morning with the app also. Never ever talked to any staff members ever...not even once. They never met us or talked to us. Never had to go to the desk at all. We had breakfast in the morning and left. That was the easiest check in and out I've ever seen in my life. Also liked the bathroom (glass doors that open out) and the thermostat worked great and TV was big. The remote for the TV using the app is awesome. So convenient.

The bed and pillows are not that great. The bed was too hard for me and a bit uncomfortable. I was stiff and sore in the morning and the pillows didn't have enough feathers in them. Need more neck support. My daughter had the other queen bed and she had no problem, so it could have just been me. The shower just had warm water. Never got hot. The sink had hot water but the shower never got hot and you couldn't get it to go hotter. Again, not sure if it was just our room or all the rooms.

The free breakfast offered a good selection. The front desk was very friendly and offered a perfect suggestion for dining.

The sausage gravy was cold and we had to heat it in the microwave. We left two brand new tubs of Sanders Chocolate covered caramels (one milk Chocolate and one dark chocolate), a brand new bag of Brookside chocolates, and half a bag of Hershey nuggets. When I called, I was told they didn't find them and if they had, they would've thrown them away. It was about $60 worth... I don't believe they didn't find it.

I was greeted by Tae in the most fantastic manner when I walked in. He is, hands down, the best hotel employee I have ever encountered. This man needs to be protected at all costs and given a bonus/raise, etc. He dealt with large crowds of very loud and rowdy kids more than once. God bless him for his patience! Even under that stress, he handled my request immediately and with happiness. As long as he's working there, we will come back! 12/10 rating for Tae!

The location near the highway was good. There were many choices of restaurants nearby. The room was fine for an overnight stay. The front desk staff was very helpful. They were able to provide us with clear directions to our destination.

The tile floor needed to be cleaned in the bedroom. A previous guest must have spilled a drink on it. The total price including taxes on Booking.com was shown as $145.59. Our credit card was billed for $157.54.

The convenience to the highway, restaurants, area shopping couldn’t be better. There was plenty of parking, even for a truck pulling a 20’ trailer. Location was incredibly safe. The building was very well kept up, lit nicely & not your typical boring “beige” with orange or blue hotel decor. They had comfortable seating, including egg swing chairs with cushions, a pool table & all around a more “homelike” vibe than boring mid-priced hotels of similar caliber.

The bed wasn’t the most comfy bed I’ve slept on. I also love to snuggle with blankets, and this was a typical sheet with a duvet & insert. Nothing fancy Nothing special. Simply room to improve!

Hotel was very clean and welcoming! The breakfast was probably one the best free hot breakfasts I have had at a hotel before! The room was nice, but pretty small with no where to really sit unless you sat on the bed.

While the room was very clean. It was challenging to actually sit down and do any work on a computer because there was one chair and the "desk" was a small pull out desk, but you couldn't actually do much work on the desk since there was limited space at the end of the bed.

I like that the rooms do not have carpet and you can bring your pets with you.

The common areas needed to be cleaned. I wondered if they were short staffed. Also in the morning the main door would not open unless staff let someone in or out. That felt like a hazard to me. It was also inconvenient because I was trying to load the car.

The hotel is very clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The staff members made check in and check out a very seamless process! The rooms are very well kept and stocked with needed essentials. The breakfast area was clean: no food on the counter, well stocked, and hot/fresh food.

Everything about this property was a positive!

For people with families we find the lobby delightful and a place we feel comfortable letting the kids go to chill. The breakfast has never disappointed and we enjoy the variety and menu changes. I like the carpet free rooms and minimalistic room design. So far the Tru is our favorite hotel chain.
