The property was zero touch, meaning nobody to check you in. Our Taylor Suite was apartment like. Separate sleeping room from the main sitting area, even had a small kitchen with refrigerator, stove and dishwasher. Was great room for two.

I’m mobility challenged, so getting up and down the three small steps out front was challenging. Especially in the late afternoon when the railing was super hot. Once inside there is an elevator. There should be a sign in the common hallways to speak softly, as the voices really echo. The earplugs on the nightstand were there for a reason. The cars and heavy traffic noise on the Main street out front got to be a little much.

Stepping into The Woodford Hotel felt like entering a world where bourbon dreams come true. As we settled into the Pappy Suite, the air was thick with the allure of Kentucky's finest spirits, and the decor whispered tales of distilleries past. The suite was a sanctuary of comfort, with its fully equipped kitchen, cozy living area, and inviting bedroom, all designed to make our stay as luxurious as possible. The generous layout provided the perfect setting for an intimate and unforgettable evening, allowing us to fully enjoy each other's company in complete privacy. The bed was so inviting that it beckoned us to linger long after our explorations of the day, while the separate living area gave us space to relax and unwind together. Like other guests have noted, the beds are incredibly comfortable, with plush mattresses and soft, high-thread-count sheets that made for a truly rejuvenating sleep experience. The hotel's location is a lover's paradise, just steps away from quaint eateries and bourbon havens. We visited WinStar Farm and Lane's End, where we were captivated by the beauty of the Thoroughbreds and the serene landscapes. The guided tours provided fascinating insights into the world of horse breeding, and we felt a deep connection to the Bluegrass region's equestrian heritage. These visits added a touch of romance and adventure to our getaway, making our stay even more memorable. For dinner, we dined at Vallozzi’s, where we indulged in authentic Italian cuisine that perfectly complemented our bourbon-themed stay. The intimate ambiance and delectable dishes created a romantic setting, enhanced by a selection of fine wines. After dinner, we returned to the hotel to enjoy a nightcap of Kentucky's finest bourbon, perfectly capping off our evening. Throughout our stay, we were impressed by the hosts' attentiveness and quick responses, ensuring our every need was met with care.

We loved everything

Love this old, historic building turned Bourbon themed hotel. The rooms are really one bedroom apartments equipped with a full kitchen and comfortably appointed sitting room. Kitchen was literally like new, with a full suite of Whirlpool appliances and dishes for 6. Bathroom had great water pressure and high end fixtures. Decor was just right, comfortable but good quality. Could very comfortably live in this apartment.

I’m sure some people would not like the fact it’s an old building, so, not perfect. The doors and woodwork and floors are pretty typical of an old building like this - nothing level, and doors are a bit wonky. Yes, that can all be redone in a renovation but at a lot of cost AND removes character (IMO). Back lot was under construction at an adjacent building which made parking in back a bit wonky. Plenty of street parking.

The beds were incredibly comfortable and the entire suite was clean, comfortable with cool design and furnishings.

The check-in was a bit rocky because apparently we needed to complete another online form in advance that would give us the entry code for the hotel entrance and our hotel room. We didn't realize this, so it took quite a while to get inside our room. The customer assistance number worked and staff were able to help us. Once we got inside our room, we loved our stay. It would help if it were made more clear on booking that there was an additional, required step that needed to be done. Other places just immediately send you the entry code, so we missed that step.

The location was great. Right in the middle of all the Distilleries. The decor was well done. The people that rent the space were accommodating. I would stay there again. We enjoyed all of the books about all the local distilleries. Thank you for a lovely experience.

The air conditioning in the one bedroom didn’t cool off like the other rooms but it is an older building and we were there on some of the hottest days. The road out front is busy during work hours but it does slow down later and is quiet. The parking lot was under construction.

We recently stayed at this charming hotel while attending a baseball tournament in the area. The Four Roses Suite was nothing short of delightful. The room was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated and thoughtfully stocked with all of the amenities that we could need. The beds were incredably comfortable and we slept like a dream. The attention to detail was evident in the soft towles and even reading material. We hope to come back to Versailles soon and will definitely book this hotel.

Our stay was great. The accommodations were wonderful. We did not have breakfast. The bed was comfortable and the place was spotless clean. Very roomy and had everything we needed. Just a sidenote, the headboard did slide down at some point. We didn’t even know what happened till we saw it, there was no noise. It did not interfere with our stay at all…..just letting you know. Great place!!!

Nothing could have been better.

This place is one of a kind. We initially booked for 1 night in a twin room suite (Wild Turkey) and ended up extending our stay for another night (Buffalo suite) . The place is conveniently located-quite area too. Beautiful property, decent room sizes and just well maintained. So much character and beautifully decorated! The location is about 20 min drive to Buffalo Trace (Frankfort) if you are up for some bourbon tour/tasting. I will highly recommend this place to anyone and will most likely stay here whenever we are in KY. ❤️

Love the feel of a one bedroom apartment with the full kitchen and dinning room table. Bed was very comfortable.

The room was EH Taylor themed but I think they just added a couple things and called it a day. There could be more to make it feel more bourbon. Also, with no receptionist on site, there could be something on the booking profile that says, please give us 10-15 minutes to process the reservation and provide access codes. I booked this while on the front stoop and with a little time for the hotel to process the reservation, access the property and room would have gone more smoothly than it did.

Question - What comes after "B" for Bourbon? Answer - "C" for Class! This property should not be missed on your next Bourbon Tour! Historical property aged fine like the finest classic bourbon and hit all the sweet notes for us. Sophistication without being stuffy - this hotel is clean, comfortable, tasteful. Charming town with a gracious host. Easy to book and very clear instructions. We stayed in the Colonel Taylor suite and it left us with curiousity about exploring the entire Woodford Hotel's homage to the Greats! There is an elevator to help you move your luggage which is a bonus in historical properties. Eric was very kind and helpful with great travel tips. We will absolutely be back next year for our annual trip. Thank you for the great memories. It was an honor to stay here.
