We love this bed and breakfast so much that we’ve kept coming back year after year! The hotel and rooms are beautiful, the breakfasts are yummy and filling, the staff is kind, everything is clean and cozy, and it’s located only 1/2 a mile from downtown! We especially appreciated that last fact this past weekend when we ended up being without a car due to a crash, and we were able to still finish off our vacation with some fun times by spending the day walking to the beach and downtown no problem. The Fresh Coast Inn has kept their prices VERY reasonable, allowing us to come back again and again for weekend trips. We’ve stayed off-season in December too for even lower rates, plus beautiful Christmas decor! The hotel offers beautiful vintage vibes + all the modern accommodations, like temperature control, fridge, tv, etc. We always look forward to playing Mario Kart (my husband plugs his Nintendo into the large tv) before bed! Also some of our favorites places to visit in Ludington while we’ve stayed at this hotel are Stearns Park, The Ludington Lighthouse, Big Sable Lighthouse, ALL the galleries including My Happy Place and Rod and Brad Reed Photography, Backstage Games, Sister Bees, HumaniTea, House of Flavors (ice cream flights!), and more!

The Fresh Coast Inn anticipated everything that I wanted and needed to have an enjoyable stay, from bottles of water in the refrigerator to roku tv that let me watch my favorite baseball team to a wonderful hot breakfast in the dining room. I could get cookies and cocoa in the evening from the well-stocked and always open pantry and sit in the garden with my tea in the morning sun.

Check-in was accomplished by text message, which turned out to be pretty efficient, but I didn't see any staff until breakfast. I hesitate to say I didn't like the set-up because there were no problems and I am confident I would have been able to text for help if any arose.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious and provided a wide variety of items. The best part of my stay was the outstanding service provided by the woman who greeted me at check-in. She was very helpful, kind and accommodating. She even helped push me out of a stuck in the snow situation in the parking area. I don’t recall her name unfortunately. She’s an outstanding employee!

For me, the bed was far too soft and very uncomfortable. Others may be fine with it. Additionally, on my first night there was a family staying on the top floor with small children who were very rambunctious and loud. It made it especially difficult to fall asleep. I enjoy the pitter patter of little feet, but this was way beyond that. 😳 It won’t prevent me from coming again. It’s impossible to control how guests behave.

The family suite is such a beautiful loft. So roomy & cozy. My son & I had so much fun playing together & pigging out on pizza. This place has the best breakfast & the staff go above & beyond!! My son got a toy car & I needed a mini screw driver to get the batteries into it. I asked staff for a little screw driver & they supplied me w-one. So kind, so accommodating, so thoughtful. Thank you!!

The shower is in the middle of the bathroom, like the head of the shower is just dead center in the middle of the ceiling in the bathroom- the whole room to include the toilet is where you shower floor is. It’s quite odd though I understand I was on the 3rd floor of a very beautiful, old home.

The home was beautifully decorated with vintage items and the rooms were clean and comfortable, but what stood out the most was the wonderful staff and the excellent breakfast!!

I would only say that the family suite, while spacious and comfortable, was a little impractical for a group. There were no private spaces for changing and no place to hang clothes. I would also note that the stairway next to the bathroom is a hazard and should be protected with some type of safety gate.

Breakfasts were excellent . Visiting the nearby Stearn Park & Beach was the best I’ve been too, beautiful sand, crystal clear water and small waves, perfect for the entire family to enjoy.

Having to carry our luggage up two flights of stairs. Living room furniture needed to be updated. Having to stoop down whenever going into the individual alcove where your beds were to avoid banging your head because of all the slanted ceilings.

The breakfast was delicious, and you could eat downstairs in the sitting area, or have a tray brought up to your room. Our room was spacious, clean. The sitting room downstairs had lots of amenities ~ cookies, granola bars, coffee, cereal, juice and milk, that you could help yourself to at any time. The yard was decorated cute and had many places to sit. The historic home was close to downtown and just a short walk away.

We stayed in the attic of this quaint old home with a group of 6 people. The room could accommodate us all comfortably and the breakfast was large and delicious. We felt like we were having a sleepover at grandmas house all tucked in little corners of the attic. There is no typical front desk so we were greeted by a note with all our instructions included. We were also able to have breakfast delivered up to our room on trays which made all the teenagers happy they could sleep in a little longer. Ludington beach is just down the road and the perfect place for a sunset picnic dinner.

Watch your head as you maneuver in some of the tight spaces in the attic!

What a fantastic location so close to downtown and Stearns Park in a neighborhood full of spectacular homes! The breakfast was just amazing as advertised, my kiddos and I were beyond ourselves with the delicious cuisine, tailored for us with generous portions. The anytime snacks and beverages was an extra bonus and the vibe was so cozy as the house, our suite and the garden are just so beautiful. We didn't want to leave we were just so cozy and the rainfall showerhead and stream room was perfect to relax after a day on the big lake. We are already planning our next trip and will stay again without a doubt!

I wouldn't change anything it was absolutely above and beyond expectations.

The bed was very comfortable and the room was charming. Breakfast was excellent- very well presented and also delicious! Staff was super friendly and really seemed to enjoy their jobs! The garden area was beautiful and a great place to relax!

I thought the clawfoot tub, although charming, was dangerous with nothing to hold onto while getting in and out. The stairs are also a bit steep, but guests just need to be aware when booking.
