Hotel itself is excellent and very nicely kept with excellent staff. Value is also great for NYC and if not for the location we would stay here again!

Although we have often lived in NYC and try and visit every neighborhood and borough, this part of the Bronx has fallen on hard times, which unfortunately is very visible right at this hotel. Because of this, we would probably choose a hotel in a different location next time, despite the unbeatable value and great property and staff.

The room was huge - like the size of a one bedroom apartment. It was clean and breakfast was charming and well stocked. Staff was very kind, like they took a personal stake in making the hotel feel comfortable. As an aside, my birthday was the day I arrived to the hotel and my family had a surprise gift waiting for me in the room - and they recounted how helpful the hotel staff were to make the gift and surprise happen.

Just to be clear, the area that the hotel is in is a distressed urban neighborhood. Inside of the hotel is an oasis but folks expecting pristine surroundings may be surprised. Also, the weekend we were there, the closest subway was closed so getting around took longer than expected.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The service was top-notch — the staff was always friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything I needed. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable — a perfect place to relax after a day out. One of the highlights was the coffee and cookies available all day, which I truly appreciated. The breakfast was also excellent.

The only downside for me was the location. I felt a bit unsafe during the first few days, but this didn’t really impact my trip overall. Plus, having a metro station nearby made getting around the city super easy and convenient.

Facilities, room infrastructure and cleanness were top-notch.

Overall area is rather bad, significantly rubbish on the streets, main street noisy at night with various police and fire department vehicles waking people up sometimes. Breakfast is inconsistent, sometimes they have bananas and fruits, sometimes they do not. The breakfast serving lady uses occasionally verbally aggressive communication style (shouting at guests to clean up after themselves) instead of assertive style.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was very clean, and the daily housekeeping service was excellent — the room was cleaned automatically every day. The breakfast was also outstanding, with a great variety and quality. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

However, the location is a bit far from the city center or main attractions. I would advise future guests not to stay out too late at night, as getting back to the hotel can be a bit inconvenient. Overall, it’s a great place to stay if you’re looking for comfort and cleanliness.

The room was impeccable, spacious, well furnished, and cleaned everyday. We also had a mini fridge which was very useful. The breakfast spread was good and useful before a long day of sight seeing. The hotel is also in close proximity to a grocery store and multiple eateries, as well as a subway station so it was easy to get in/out of the Bronx. Incredible value for money.

Not a dislike but more of a note- some of the surrounding area can be a bit daunting when you first get there, but don’t let this put you off. It’s a good location with a lot to do. The property is a gem.

Good value. Entire hotel has been recently refurbished, so everything looks nice and new. Hallways, rooms, all clean and tastefully and newly renovated. Tall ceilings. The staff makes an effort to be friendly and attentive.

No plugs available on bedside. The sidelamps should be the type with incorporated plugs, as that is easier than rewiring everything. The desk chair was broken so would not rise up from the lowest height setting. I just didnt have time to advise hotel (arrived late left early) One of the lightbulbs at the bedside was not working. Neighborhood is trashy and full of bums. I´m a male NYC veteran, so it wasnt scary to me, but I can see it being a bit scary for people who are not used to it. Just avoid eye contact and they´ll leave you alone. Street could be a bit noisy, mostly from passing sirens or garbage collection, but hey, it´s the city. It´s very close to the 149 & 3rd Ave station, well served by the 2 and 5 trains, but it adds about 20 - 30 min to your trip from Manhattan.

The Hotel was beautiful with a 1930's vibe and the room was very spacious and luxurious looking. It had a mini fridge, microwave, hair dryer, coffee machine and plenty of chairs and desks, including an extra sink outside of the bathroom area. The bed was very comfortable too, as were the plush pillows. I loved that breakfast was included, like pastries, oatmeal, an assortment of breads, fruit, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, granola, lattes and juices.

I didn't like that the Hotel is located in a bad neighborhood. It is scary to be heading back to the Hotel at night because of the sketchy men out and about in the streets. Even though the subway is nearby the tunnels are full of guys hanging around either selling drugs or looking to cause trouble. Once inside the hotel then it felt safe.

Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is in a pretty busy area of the Bronx. Outside is full of people and vehicles and the noise that accompanies them, but inside was peaceful and quiet. Our beds were fabulous, as was the walk-in shower. (I think we were in a room ready for people with special physical needs.) I liked that we were able to use one of the parking slots belonging to the hotel, too. We were close to the subway and nice grocery shopping.

I wouldn't change anything about the hotel itself. As a woman, I would feel okay walking around the neighborhood during the day but might think twice doing so alone at night.

The hotel was beautiful with big rooms and very comfortable beds! The AC worked very well, the shower was brilliant and breakfast was great. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful too.

The hotel is a five minute walk from the subway and 25mins to mid town which is convenient but the area the hotel is in is truely atrocious. We didn't feel safe in the area at all, we saw a lot of homelessness, drug addiction non stop police cars (marked and unmarked) and generally sketchy looking people so if you go to this hotel, plan to not explore the south bronx at all for your own safety. Absolutely support the hotel but manage your expectations about location.
