This place is a great deal. Very good breakfast with waffle maker. The room was clean, linens completely decent. It was much better than I expected. I will use it again if I am in this area.

Minor!! I needed better/clearer instructions to access internet. Had to go back to front desk to clarify: use the one named "staff" and NOT the one named "Independence hotel" - The regulator on the water tap in the bathroom was hinky. The elevator was "under maintenance" so door closed very very slow?

To The Best Western Hotel in Matthews, North Carolina, Hotel Manager and his wonderful staff. It takes a village to support the community. On Friday March 17, 2023. The Best Western Hotel in Matthews, NC did just that by demonstrating excellent hospitality services and a warm welcoming making our residents stay a safe home like living. We are grateful to the hotel manager for offering our organization a good price rating for (2) of our residents staying in one room for one week. We checked with our residents daily and they liked waking up to a hot breakfast bar, rest peacefully, and enjoyed all the amenities the hotel offers its customers. The Best Western, in Matthews NC will be our go to place for a hotel that makes staying overnight a luxury getaway. We will shared with other organizations. We, at My Sister House Transitional Living for single women want to Thank The Best Western Hotel in Matthews, NC for the opportunity accommodating our (2) residents in an emergency situation needing a safe short term place to stay to interrupt homelessness. Breakfast was good, with a wide selection. Waffles were tasty. Choice of teas was excellent. Cereal, juice, bagels, and muffins were good. Eggs could have been tastier. The staff is helpful, friendly, and professional. Fitness equipment didn't work for me. Couldn't figure out how to start the treadmill. Location was excellent, close to Independence Boulevard, where the shuttle for the President's Cup was. Also ideal for restaurants. We ate at Bonefish Grill the first night. Chili's next door was excellent. good food and service. Overall, a nice 2-night stay for my wife and I. Room was spacious, clean (some stains on carpets and torn lampshades), and well-appointed. We would recommend this Best Western Plus to everyone.

The location was perfect! We felt safer there than some other hotels in the area. We did not smell weed like we have in other hotels. It was comfortable and met all of our needs for this trip.

The plugs on the bedside table would not hold the plug for our c-pap machine or the charger for the phone. It was too loose.

The room was large and included a chair and footrest. The bed was comfortable enough.

The vent in the bathroom didn't work. The pillows were small. The desk chair was slightly uncomfortable.

The staff is amazing . Shout out to the girl on nights with the orange steak she is bomb. The entire staff is friendly the manager is awesome. I got stuck one day and he gave me a jump. The best hotel on independence hands down

Good location, clean facilities, friendly staff.

There was (what appeared to be) a bullet hole in the window of my room. A bit of mold in the windowsill as well. The water temp was fluctuating greatly when showering.

Breakfast was nice and hostess was friendly and eager to serve and or help. Night desk clerk loaned me an IPhone cube for charging.

Nothing in room telling about TV channels, no extra blankets/pillows, or towels.

Breakfast was good and the area was perfect and quiet we like it so much

The only thing We thought that housekeeping would clean the room every day

Has a Chilli's right beside the room and a shopping center across the street. Minutes from food and shopping.

It was outdated and the WiFi was horrible.
