We enjoyed staying in a building with years of history behind it yet very well renovated with modern features while keeping that old historic feel and look. Every person we encountered on the staff was very nice and helpful. That went from the night desk clerk when we arrived to the others at the desk the next two days as well as the bartenders and cleaning staff. All were extremely nice and helpful. Pleasant surprise was when we arrived our room had not been cleaned. The night desk clerk (Jed) upgraded our room to a suite for the same price we had signed up for. Very spacious and luxurious. More businesses of all types should take note of this approach and always upgrade when there is a problem that affects the customer with no fault of theirs. This insured we will return one day.

TV did not get local channels. While we were there the local channels would show as having a weak signal or some other technical issue. The other channels were fine. Either larger trash cans or more of them. Hand soap had a strong fragrance. Something not so strong would be better. I understand the TEAROSE aroma being associated with a Historic hotel. A dirty laundry bag would be nice to have for taking home the used laundry.

We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite. It was wonderful! The hot tub was very nice, the room was one of the biggest I've ever stayed in my life, and they had three flat screens in each room. Hillsborough is a very cute little historical town. You can definitely spend a day or two in the town and see what it offers. They preserved the historical architecture of the town. Also, the Colonial Inn's complimentary cinnamon rolls were magnificent. I highly recommend a stay over there.

The only thing missing was bathrobes in the room. Our room had hot tub in it and I would like to relax on my bed with a robe on sipping my wine. It was not a necessity, and didn't affect our stay. Just a recommendation.

Good size rooms, very comfortable beds. cosy feeling. nice bar an restaurant. very clean hotel. Historic area safe and quiet to go walking and exploring.

A small work desk in the room would be helpful, also coffee or tea making facilities in the room as it is not available in the morning from reception before 7am. I stayed several nights and jet lag had me up at 4 or 5 a, bought my own kettle and coffee from Walmart

There was no breakfast, was told there were biscuits with coffee, but nothing for our 2 days. But the dinners were delicious!!! Top notch !!!

We did have trouble working the shower, not very user friendly! And the AC unit.....we had no clue, should have had at least a bit of instruction to help out. We managed with trial and error.

perfectly situated historic inn. renovations are first rate. staff communicated well. clean space.

coffee! recommend having coffee service available during a narrow window in the morning. if it was available and we missed it, disregard.

So I was very happy with everything except I think because our reservation was lost or what ever happened we got the handicapped room? Not totally sure but my parents room was beautiful where mine was nice but handicapped??

We had complimentary cinnamon rolls that were fabulous along with great coffee! Love being in a older property that is beautifully restored and maintained

Wish I could have received a less puffy pillow. Had to sleep without a pillow for three nights.

Such a lovely place! We had a beautiful king room, with our kids in an adjoining queen room. The beds were comfortable, bathrooms luxurious and dinner in the restaurant was delicious!

The staff was super-friendly, and the hotel is beautifully renovated while maintaining its historical charm.
