The whirlpool was awesome! Nice having 2. A/C’s for temperature control Property was very pretty, and loved having access to the animals to feed.

Shower was small which was okay, however some kind of caddy over the shower head would have been nice. I could not fit anything on the tiny shower extensions, and had to set all my shampoo, conditioner, etc on the floor!☹️ Bed was okay, but soft, and sheets were way too large, as they slid off all the time. Was somewhat disappointed on the exterior of #48, also. It would have been better if it had a nice fresh coat of paint like some of the others. It was the Honeymoon suit, but I was embarrassed to take pictures of the outside, as it looked so bad😟

I’d loved the staff! The caboose is more for the experience. If you’re looking for a large luxurious place to stay, then go somewhere else. It’s a simple caboose modified to let your kids say “we slept in a caboose.” The grounds are beautiful! The staff at the front office were kind and very helpful.

The restaurant staff ran out of crayons. Not a deal breaker but they didn’t offer any paper when I said I was going to purchase something. The front desk did photocopy something for my kids to draw on while we waited though, I was just avoiding using screen time :) Again, not a huge deal, just be prepared with something if your kids get stir crazy while waiting.

The rooms, or the cabooses, were very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The surrounding grounds were wonderful to take evening walks or watch the Strasburg Railroad steam trains pass through. A small petting zoo, Amish buggy rides, and the Toy Train Museum are a very short walking distance from the cabooses. You park your car along side the caboose you are staying in. The Strasburg Railroad and Pennsylvania Train Museum are within a mile from the motel. Beautiful views of the Amish farms. The Casey Jones restaurant was a great place for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Highly recommend the Red Caboose Motel.

Our grandchildren loved the bunk room, and we liked that the bunk room could be closed off from the rest of the caboose interior. The bathroom, while small, served our purposes well. Having the bathroom sink outside the bathroom itself was a plus for those wishing to brush their teeth or to brush their hair and put on makeup. The caboose was the perfect size for a group of two adults and three children with space enough for one more person in the bunk room. We had plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, and toilet paper. Thanks for this unique opportunity to spend a night near the Strasburg Railroad!

The rooms were comfortable and there was enough space for all of us to fit comfortably. I travelled with my mother and two children. We each had a bed to ourselves and enough space for our personal belongings. There wasn't any storage for belongings (closet space, etc) but I wasn't bothered by it at all. The mini fridge and microwave was a nice added touch as well. The location was a plus as it was near various eateries and other tourist favorites.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like. This was our first experience at the motel and it won't be our last. Staff was friendly, the rooms were neat and clean; I have no complaints.

Such an interesting and fun experience spending a night in a train car! Plus, we had a meal in a train dining car! The hotel lobby was part of the gift shop and dining area and the receptionist was in uniform giving one another taste of being on a train. Very friendly staff. Our "room" (that is, train car) had comfortable beds, a large and well equipped (with shower AND a Jacuzzi bathtub), small refrigerator, microwave, TV, small table and 2 chairs. It was clean, quiet and functional. We could park our car right at our "room." The dining area was a short walk away and the food was very good. They had walking areas, petting animals, a toy train museum and offered buggy rides and Amish village tour. A large full size train museum was only a little drive away. It was a fun experience, great for kids. They had a handicapped accessible "room" as well for those needing it.

We did not have anything to complain about.

It was something my dad wanted to do and I made it happen. He came across this property 15 years ago and told me about it last year he is almost 80 and I’ve been trying to do an annual trip every year so I looked up sleeping in a caboose and found this place it does book quickly so I had to wait a year. We did so many things due to the location we were close to so much to do. Wonderful experience and memories with my dad.

We are early risers although there was coffee in the room waiting to go to the restaurant at 7:30 was the only negative.

We loved everything about this property. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The uniqueness of each Train Caboose. They were very clean and roomy. The staff were great and always friendly. We ate at the restaurant and food was amazing as well. We will definitely be coming back again.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like about the property. One thing to make it easier, as a parent of a 5 year old, having a detachable sprayer in the stand up shower would have been a plus but we loved this place!

This was our family's 3rd trip. First time me and husband stayed in the honeymoon caboose which had a whirlpool tub. The second time was in the farmhouse which was very nice and spacious since we had our 2 children and my mom with us. This time we stayed in the baggage car which was very spacious and comfortable. My 3yr old loves the animals and being able to see the train up close when it comes by. Casey Jones restaurant is very reasonably priced and the food is delightful. The location is great as well! Very close to lancaster and Strasburg railroad.

The only thing would be that we had neighbors on this last trip so of felt that the car rocked in the morning when they moved around and could hear indistinct conversations in the evening.

The staff at the hotel and restaurant are very kind and friendly. The property is clean and comfortable. There's a free petting zoo that my husband and I enjoyed just as much as the kids. There's a mini arcade, buggy rides, and you can watch the trains past by. That was the highlight for my husband and 5-year-old son. The food is so good and is reasonably priced. We had some car trouble, and the staff wasted no time helping us. My 15-year-old daughter is ready to move to Amish country because of the Red Caboose Motel! We'll definitely be back and for a longer period of time.

Absolutely nothing bad to say about this place, its people or its location at all. It was better than what we expected.
