I stay here once a month due to medical procedure at hospital. I always bring food for after my procedure. I left my food in the fridge this time. I called the hotel and spoke with front desk. I was informed that the room hadn’t been cleaned yet. I explained to her that we were coming to get my items and to hold them at the front desk. When we got there, they gave my husband my container of strawberries, but said they couldn’t find my drink. They were the only two items in the fridge. I had an unopened bottle of Lipton Peach tea that a staff member kept for themselves. I would’ve accepted the truth of “I or the housekeeper drank the drink” instead of lying that a drink wasn’t found.

Check in was smooth, the room was comfortable and clean, being on the first floor really nice, desk staff was polite and welcoming, morning breakfast was good and plenty.

Bathroom light humming, shower head was leaking from the back , the tub didn’t drain properly , tub was peeling in spots from a poor repaint finish. Bad prep before the finish was sprayed on just my opinion. The tub spout should be closer to the wall so water doesn’t flow behind it and cause more damage to the wall and add clear caulk. The wall under A/C vent outside of the shower looked as if there was a major water leak and damaged . NOT a good look when guest first walk into a room. We stayed in room 128. I wanted more towels and wash clothes went to speak with the person cleaning the rooms she said (I don’t speak English). She did bring the towels and not the wash clothes. Had to get them from the front desk. Both beds had SQUEAKY BED SPRINGS!!!!! Over all it needs a total remodel .

No Bagels for breakfast & no staff tidying it up so tables and food area get messy during breakfast hours. The staff member who assisted us during checkout on October 6 at 9:30 AM exhibited a lack of professionalism. There was no eye contact, greeting, or bye; she simply stared at her computer. When she handed me the receipt without looking up, I felt awkward waiting for direction. Ultimately, I had to say, "Okay, goodbye? Have a good day" and left. This was surprising, as I travel frequently and believe the front desk sets the tone for the hotel experience. I understand everyone has bad day once in a while, but it seemed like this woman doesn’t take it seriously.

When are you staying in hotels? Unless you’re paying big money? Nowhere is perfect. Get the idea of a perfect room out of your head and you’ll find this hotel. Very good. The room is clean without that heavy disinfectant smell area is quiet. The restaurant down the road (About a two minute walk) has got a good choice of food reasonable prices. I stayed in plenty of hotels in this chain and this is one of the good ones

The thing that could’ve been better was if Booking.com uploaded the right photos! Ignore the ones from the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier which is nearby and well worth a visit too! If the hotel room had bunks Like that, my review would be totally different! Lol

This property is very convenient to local restaurants and shopping. It’s also only about 15-20 minutes from the beach! The room is comfortable and we liked that the pool was open late!

The lady who set breakfast on July 1, 2025 was extremely rude. She pushed past myself and stepdaughter to put the muffins in the serving tray. She didn’t say excuse me or sorry. Honestly, she didn’t even acknowledge anyone in the vicinity. Other than this incident, I’ve never had a bad stay here.

Nice staff, great location , hot water , nice pool, and clean linens. No bed bugs!

The hotel is outdated, and Unclean needs a good remodel and pesticide for roaches from the river the roaches get in due to a lack of maintenance on the buildings (holes in ceilings). Old doors to rooms don't close right. Wiring is sketchy in rooms. Mattresses are old and stained.

Carpet in our room was old and worn. Shower curtain bar was broken and made the shower curtain fall to the middle so the bathroom floor got soaked. Looked like some black mold in the caulking in the tub. This part of the hotel (with exterior doors) needs some updates. Breakfast ended too soon. People on vacation may not make it to breakfast before 9 am.

The room was clean, bed was super comfortable, the ac worked wonderfully, I like a crisp room at night, and staff were all awesome! Location was fabulous 👌

I was a solo female traveler and first was given an outdoor accessed room! BUT, I went to the front desk and they switched me to their main building, no issues! They were super nice about it and sympathetic so I have no complaints!!!

You need more kitchen staff, this is a management issue. We waited too long for eggs and you need one more waffle maker. I am not sure if you serve fruit and yogurt, I saw some that had it but there was none left when we arrived. Again management, spend a little more and have happy and returning customers.

I originally booked for just myself and husband, but our adult daughter and her dog came along at the last minute. The desk clerk had no issue with the additional person, or the dog. There was a $20 fee for pets, and there were quite a few in the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet even though we were on the main floor, and you could hear dogs barking in other rooms when you walked by. Breakfast was excellent, with choices from eggs and sausage to cold cereal, yogurt to muffins; pretty much anything you would want. It's easy to get into downtown Charleston or to North Charleston. Would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.

Lack of information available for dining options. They had a menu for pizza in the lobby, but that was it. We asked at the desk and were directed to downtown Charleston but were not given any recommendations. Being somewhat familiar with the area, we opted to drive up route 61 to North Charleston where we knew there were many restaurants to choose from.
