Excellent location. Staff are superb- very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and modern. Comfortable beds. Very quiet. Good air conditioning. Free WIFi and a good signal. Large bathroom. Reasonable price for area.

Very little storage space in room. Had to request luggage racks. Not enough hanging space or hooks in bathroom. No coffee or tea making facilities. Coffee was available in lobby but half the time we were there it was unavailable. We were located in a separate annex which has security doors which are very difficult to negotiate with coffee in hand or with luggage. Room was significantly smaller than advertised on booking.com. House keeping is an extra cost. No forewarning on just how many holds are put on credit card.

Location was great. Right off King Street. Beautiful hotel, very clean, nice bathroom and shower. Beds were comfortable and I loved the pillows. I meant to look at them in the morning and see what pillows they were. The staff in the morning were super friendly and helpful.

There were so many taxes added. Which I know they don't control. However we had a $25 credit to use in the restaurant and the credit was taxed. Plus then our food was taxed. There was a problem with the electric switches in our room. 1 switch turned everything off, even the tv and we were in the dark trying to get lights back on. TV was on side wall making us have to turn. Needed a light on my side of bed to read.

Location and professionalism of the staff. The room was beautiful and the food on-site was tasty.

When I phoned to alert the staff my flight would be very delayed, the desk rep told me my room would be cancelled in a very confusing loop about arriving within 24 hours of check-in yet people waiting for me not to show at 3 pm. Finally, someone told the rep I would need to be checked in and pay for one night (out of my 4-night stay) which was fine with me! I suppose I was most surprised and disappointed that this wasn’t offered initially instead of making me feel as if my reservation would be easily cancelled. The solution made complete sense and gave me peace of mind in a situation I could not control.

The hotel is located in the central part of the old town and so easy to get around. I took the free trolley there from the metro station. The room was perfectly clean with little details of amenities. It also smells like a spa throughout the hotel. There's a fitness room in the basement that has more than enough weights and modern cardio machines. It is much bigger than most hotel gyms. Finally, the rooftop bar is a must try.

An absolutely stunning hotel! The valet parking was very easy & the entire staff was super friendly, made me feel very at ease. Very conveniently located in downtown with just a short walk to local bars, restaurants & shops. Highly recommend Don Taco. The valet parking was nice & the valet staff was very respectful of my vehicle & fast to retrieve it. Did not get to eat at the restaurant located in the hotel but it looked nice. The room was small but very homey & clean. King size bed was extremely comfortable & shower was spacious. Had a nice mini bar located in the room as well as nice robes in the closet. My only real regret is that I couldn’t stay more than one night.

I believe I accidentally left my Stanley cup behind, completely my fault for sitting it down & not picking it back up, but though the hotel staff was friendly when I called to ask them if they’d seen it they promised a call back with an answer to if they’d seen it & I never received a call back. I don’t blame the staff at all for me losing my cup it just would have been nice if they could have returned my call to let me know something.

It’s a beautiful property. The staff are attentive and very friendly.

Due to a power outage from a storm , the amenities were limited (WiFi, restrictions on lighting and electricity in room) and our comfort level decreased with the temperatures due to ac not cooling led to us leaving a day early . While they had a back up generator so we had some power, I really wish the power had been restored fully because I did like it there .

We had a fantastic experience here, we didn't want to leave! The room and bathroom were gorgeous and very well designed. We mentioned it was my birthday and they went above and beyond and left chocolate truffles and champagne in the room for us. The bed was very comfortable as well Amazing location just off king street and walking distance to the waterfront. We did not get to try the on site restaurant or rooftop bar. We had an incredible stay here!

The hotel was lovely! Spectacular decor and we loved the rooftop bar! Linens and bed were very nice and comfy. Staff was friendly. Location was absolutely perfect!

I would rate this hotel 5 star, but there were a couple of things lacking and possibly just because it is a rather new hotel. First there were no ice machines, so you had to request ice at the desk. We did this and it was finally delivered about and hour and a half after requested and after my husband gave up and went to the bar himself to get some for our nightcap. I think they might have been experiencing staffing shortages. Second, there was no coffee or kettle in the room so you had to go down to the lobby each morning to get coffee. This is quite common and expected for European hotels, but not really in the US. If you are good with the issues mentioned, you will love Hotel Heron!

The hotel is located in Old Town Alexandria. Extremely walkable a couple of blocks from the Potomac and King Street. Only issue I had was there's only street parking which can be a hassle. However, they do offer valet but my Ford F250 wouldn't fit in the garage so I was allowed to park out front of the hotel which was super awesome. Staff was amazing, facility was very clean and the room was well appointed. Very happy with my stay and would definitely recommend the Hotel Heron

It’s a new hotel and very well located. The staff were all very nice but they need to work on some things. The phone in our room didn’t work so trying to get a bucket of ice was very difficult and we had to wait more than thirty minutes to an hour each day to receive one. The very kind gentleman at the front desk gave us his cell number in case we needed anything but he was often very busy. There are no coffeemakers in the rooms but they do serve free coffee in the lobby in the morning. For someone like me who likes a couple of cups before I have to get dressed and face the world, that was a hardship. Also, they don’t offer daily housekeeping, you have to request it, which I did not understand at first. If you have a car, you have to rely on an outsourced valet parking service which was somewhat unreliable. The hotel is very attractive and the staff are very kind so I hope they can work out the kinks and decide to offer a seamless guest experience. With a bar and a restaurant, it appears to be a full service hotel so I hope they can realize that vision.
