EXCEPTIONALLY CLEAN! Cleanest bathroom EVER! Beautiful facility!!! Thoughtful touches…welcome bag, lotion, a good size bar of soap for the sink. Friendly, accommodating staff, for the most part. Comfortable bed. Love that there is no carpet! Plenty of storage for a small room.

The towels don’t dry in the room. I had to ask each day for them to be replaced despite putting in a request the night before, the morning of, and placing used towels in the hall. Evidently the air conditioner doesn’t dehumidify to the degree that it removed excess moisture from the room. This is the second room we’ve stayed in and both were “damp”. The bathroom in this room was MUCH better, though, even though the towels wouldn’t dry. It would be nice if the trash was dumped and the coffee-makings were replaced daily.

Perfect place to get away from all the hustle of daily life. It was nestled in a valley with beautiful view of the mountain. Although crowded you were never imposed upon in a crowded place. Great place to make family memories.

The main diner in the hotel was closed but got delicious meals in the general store and the staff were incredibly friendly. Plus Gordonsville (5 min) away had phenomenal restaurants, my husband still talks about the fried chicken and biscuits severed at one of the restaurants. I know he would drive the 5 hours just to get another meal there!

There is absolutely no food at this location. We arrived around 6p.m. and would have atleast liked to have healthy snacks and or fruit available. There are very limited eating options nearby, so if you are staying at the inn and not in your RV or a cabin with a kitchen this is a drawback.

I didnt like the Canadian geese all over the property. There is excrement everywhere you walk. The dock was especially disgusting. These birds ruin the lake and can be humainly encouraged to leave with the use of a dog or other methods that golf courses use all the time. We wont be back for this reason and I am a birder. I also didnt like their use of plastic for the coffee service, bad for the environment and so wasteful that no wood stir sticks were provided. They need to embrace their natural setting with better environmental decisions.

Views are wonderful and closeness to the lake is great. It is nice to have the outside deck to hang out at late hours and visit with friends. Clean rooms, facility and grounds. Friendly/helpful staff. Good pools and Hot tub. The ability to check out at 11:00 is a great thing. The coffee machine in the lobby is a good thing. Would probably like to see it stay open until 12:00 p.m. instead of 11:00 a.m. The small size of the rooms maybe a turn off to some people but it did not bother me at all. It doesn't really factor in for the whole experience. I didn't see a trail map for walking but I may have missed it.

Phones didn't work so well. It would be great to have a bar and the main hotel with some basic food. Even so it is good that the general store has at least pizza and burgers and a variety of beverages available.

Staying at the lodge was a wonderful experience for me and my family. My kids had a blast in the pool and under the sweltering heat of July it was more than welcome. The lake (we didn't try the kayaks) and the whole surroundings are very beautiful. All in all: great stay and a good resting place to visit Shenandoah National Park.

The fact that there is no breakfast, nor an on-site restaurant is the only little negative point I can think of. There is a grocery store on the compound which is also a deli, but the store wasn't overstocked with the items we craved.

Staff was exceptional! Kept trying to work through problems with the rooms. Did not give up until we were satisfied!

Two different rooms in the lodge were inadequate. Floors were slanted and squeaky. One lamp in the room, no place to lay items, tub didn’t drain properly, and not one chair to sit in.

The staff was great, very clean, bed was comfortable, grounds were beautiful.

Not enough lighting in the room. Room was small, had to put my suitcase in front of the door. Not enough plugs. Had to charge my phone in the bathroom. Would have been nice to have regular coffee and maybe fruit or a muffin there for people who didn't want to drive to the store for breakfast.

the property was up to date ,well kept, and clean staff was friendly and mostly helpful with the exception of changing the sheets

the room was smaller then it looked in the pictures, the electrical sockets were Insufficient and adapters were used to try to make everything work. the rooms were not cleaned every day and when asked to have the sheets changed some new ones were dropped off outside our door instead of staff changing them . there were no options for food on the premises not even a basic breakfast option.

The amenities.

Elevator was broken in the Lodge for my entire stay. I’m 63 years old and have a hard time walking up stairs while carrying luggage. The mini-golf course was closed.

The cabin with 2 rooms was nicely appointed and cozy. I appreciated the parking right by the front of it.

I would suggest screens in the windows because when we opened them, bugs could fly right in. In our case, it was all quite nice. It rained all week-end so we were glad the rooms were warm.
