The location was great for us. I liked the breakfast and the pancake maker. It was handy to a convenience store, so I could pick up a few things. I was delighted to find a laundry on site and made good use of it. We also enjoyed the hot tub, although the chemicals were kinda strong.

The beds were a bit soft and there weren't enough hangers in the closet but overall it was comfortable. Also (and not Holiday Inn's fault but you could advocate for this to make your guests' stay safer.) The street did not have a pedestrian crosswalk, so getting across the street was always scary. There was a CVS super close and it make no sense to drive but the street - scary.

The hotel and location is wonderful! I would definitely come back again. Staff is always pleasant. Need more handicap parking out front

It was a heatwave on the 4th floor in the hallways. There was NOT a do not disturb sign for my room. They came in to clean the room but didn’t take the trash Not a big deal, maybe they didn’t think it was trash because I put it in a plastic bag and set it aside. The bed in room 424 was HORRIBLE. I’ve stayed there before and had a wonderful room. I tossed and turned all night. I’m not happy I spent the amount of money I did to toss and turn on a HORRIBLE mattress and linen that smelled like it had not been cleaned in between guests.

The location of this IHG Holiday Inn Express is good, with a convenience store and gas station steps away, and it's a close drive to downtown Charlottesville. The breakfast was well-supplied, however the attendant could have been more alert when the supply was low. Room is comfortable and clean, with refrigerator, microwave, but the air conditioning took a long time for the manually operated thermostat to adjust to a lower temperature; July/August weather in Charlottesville, VA was typically hot and humid.

As mentioned, the breakfast had good variety, with family and children nearby, and a few individuals, however when the supply was low, breakfast attendant could have been more vigilant in restocking as there were not too many people in the dining area. Manually operated thermostat works, but very slow, it took a long time for the desired temperature to adjust to cool, typical temps in July/August are hot and humid in Charlottesville, VA

Holiday Inn Express, Charlottesville VA, was the cleanest, most friendly place I have stayed at in a long time, The front desk employees were friendly and helpful, The facility was clean, bright and fresh, The indoor pool was heated and very enjoyable. Morning breakfast was exceptional, with a large variety of items to choose from. If we come back to Charlottesville again, me and my family will definitely stay here.

Continental breakfast was great. The biscuits and gravy were actually VERY good to be a hotel breakfast! The only thing I wish was at the breakfast was a waffle maker instead of a pancake maker and I also would have appreciated some fresh fruit.

The only thing that was noticeable was that the shower curtain had a sour odor, making showers not as pleasant; however, it wasn't overbearing.

You had to ask for everything. Nothing was stocked in the room as it should be. I paid for a suite for 6 and it had two towels, no hand soap, and such. They were incredibly nice about giving you what was needed but it got to the point I felt like a nuisance for asking for things that should have been in place.

I thought the breakfast was very nice with a variety of choices. The coffee was good too. I had to ask to have the 1/2 and 1/2 refilled and they did it immediately.

I really would have liked clean towels but they do not change until the 4th day. We stayed two nights. I thought the mattress could have been firmer too.

Breakfast was hot and good selection of items to choose from. Coffee was available all day. Loved the lemon infused water, was great before and after swimming in the pool. Loved the outside area with the views and seating.

We constantly had a bad aroma of sewer in bathroom. Don’t know if coming from backup or shower 😟

The room was fine and I like how the soaps and lotions are all stored in large refillable plastic containers. The breakfast was actually much better than one of those free continental breakfasts you typically get at a hotel chain.

I was surprised to learn that this place was about $50 more per night than one of the Hilton Garden Inn's special rates for guests visiting family nearby.

Loved everything about our stay here! Conveniently located. The bed was incredibly comfortable(hated to leave thst bed)! Excellent room design, and the breakfast selections, including coffee, were exceptional!(thank you for Quality gluten free options!) All the staff set a bar for hospitality and professionalism. We will definitely be back! Top notch air conditioning. Shower design was a dream. This Holiday Inn exceeded Hiltons, Westins, and other Marriott affiliates we have stayed and paid much more for. (And we stay at a lot of hotels in our travels).

Had a funky smell when checking in, but I believe they were doing some painting - was not overwhelming, and they had the fans on. Did not carry into other areas of hotel just the check in/out area. No waffle maker for my husband, but they had fresh pancakes!! Even better;) I don't like plastic forks, spoons, and knives but understand their convenience.
