The gentleman at reception Sunday evening was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel even has a bookstore downstairs. We really liked the room with fun colors, great pillows, comfortable bed. Parking in public lot across the street was $18 for overnight or valet. I didn't think this was too big a deal since the hotel was reasonably priced. Great for a family staying with their student, it felt casual but modern and fun.

The $250 security deposit that was mentioned, but not enforced during online check in. I just hate security deposits... I hope they don't ever actually add this to their policy.

Beautiful modern hotel and great location. Great roof top bar. Spacious rooms and absolutely comfortable beds. Ample lush white and well stocked bars. Art gallery and lovely spaces throughout the hotel.

The hotel is going through a change of ownership and management. Online check in link did not work. The staff were very vocal about their uncertainty. The staff tried their best. Rooms only serviced on request. Room was cleaned once over a three night stay. Management needs to change their wording on what is currently being offered on this site. I dislike walking into an uncleaned room after a full day of sight seeing. Dirty cups and full bins 😔

The Doyle is a modern and gorgeous boutique hotel for seasoned travelers. Its tech forward integrations require only a cellphone and pin to access the elevators and rooms. The rooms are beautiful, drenched in Millennial Pink and cool art. The rooftop bar and restaurant are a bonus and offer great views of Charlottesville and the nearby mountains. It’s walking distance to a variety of neighborhood restaurants and bars. We loved Public Fish!

The tech element and lack of 24/7 hotel staff might be challenging for people who are not as tech savvy.

The hotel itself is really good, great location. Rooms clean, comfortable and had blackout blinds. The rooftop bar is awesome for sunsets, Nick was friendly and gave us great service. We really enjoyed the stay here, it was just a shame about check in. The team on the rooftop bar were brilliant, and it's walking distance some great bars and restaurants.

The online check in / check out system is painful. Meant to be stress free, I was bombarded with emails and texts to complete the online check in. Having booked 2 rooms, I had to do this twice ( I also had to ask for the link to the portal as was missing). I got the same access code for 2 rooms, so when mine didn't work, I went to reception, and it felt I was an inconvenience to the woman who saw me (and insisted I was wrong). I think they really need to improve this whole process and work to make people feel more welcome if they need assistance in reception.

Super stylish design all over the hotel, in the lobby and in the rooms. Very spacious room, recently renovated. Perfect location in the city center, close to many restaurants and at walking distance from the train station.

If you end up in the rooms facing east, you will hear the vents of the gigantic air conditioning system of the neighboring building. If you are sensible to noise, you might have some issues sleeping at night. Perhaps the policy of the hotel is not to clean your room during your stay: we stayed there for 3 nights and the room was never cleaned. If this is the policy, it should be made clear to the customers. However, we got towels at request.

The property, including the lobby, rooms, and dining spaces are very nice. I especially enjoyed the rooftop bar. The room I reserved was also priced very reasonably.

The hotel recently changed ownership, and there were a lot of things the staff were still figuring out. The name “Doyle” is not on the front of the hotel, and everything in the building still has the previous name “Quirk Hotel” on it. The staff had trouble finding my reservation and had to message a virtual office. The process took a long time. The hotel was also not very secure. It was unlocked at night without any staff visible in the lobby, and the elevators no longer require a key card to access floors. The access codes are the last four digits of guest phone numbers, meaning anyone with your room number and cell phone number could come into the room (including valet staff).

Like the Quirk’s location and current pricing. The rooftop bar is great and the staff is good. Hotel rooms with balconies give you a different view and a place to sit and relax. Rooms are contemporary with nice bedding. Maid was gracious but knocked on door prior to departure time. She apologized profusely.

The hotel has been sold with little management. There is often no staff in the lobby, INCONSISTENT info on parking and I entered my room to find my balcony door not only unlocked but ajar. This created an uneasy feeling. This week there was no steamer/iron in the room. Could only find one gentleman downstairs to locate either. He was extremely diligent apologizing as it was hard to locate and he was the only worker there.

This beautiful hotel is well taken care of. It is not a far walk from numerous restaurants and other attractions. The room was comfortable, very clean, and the beds/pillows were amazing. My partner and I agreed it is the best hotel stay we have ever had. When I’m not seven months pregnant, we will return and enjoy the rooftop bar.

If you are not very tech savvy, it could be difficult for you, although I’m sure staff could assist you upon arrival.

The room was huge! We were at the 4th floor and had a great view. I really liked the contactless check-in and check-out, worked very smoothly. the room was perfectly clean. Both the room and the bathroom looked new, as well as the rest of the hotel. Very nice speakeasy just next door. The area has plenty of restaurants. Street parking was easy to find at night. We traveled with two dogs and they loved their stay too!

The rooftop bar was right above us and was a little noisy, but closed at midnight anyway.

The location is centrally located.

Parking can be an issue. Along with getting luggage unloaded and loaded. You’re going to pay for parking that is maybe half a block away. Once I figured it out not a problem, but we arrived in a rain shower and had to unload luggage and a big dog after our 7+ hour drive. It was taking some planning and the old brain wasn’t working so well after a long day.
