There are things you need to know; while there is a climate control panel in the room, it doesn’t work. We arrived, the room was an austere 65 degrees, we had to beg reception to get it up to 70 — it was a cold day. Reception is a separate building, its entrance is indicated by a sign with arrows pointing in two opposing directions. To turn off the bedside lights in room 21 you have to unscrew the bulbs. The important looking electrical outlets by the bed don’t work. The main light switch must be on to light the lamps, charge your devices, make your coffee, etc. You can turn off the lamps at night by finding the appropriate buttons near the bottom.

The rooms in the property were gorgeous. I loved the history of the end and all of the special touches in the room. The amenities such as sheets, towels and toiletries were nice!

The floors are incredibly loud since they seem to be the original wood floors. I was up all night every night, listening to the people above me. I felt terrible for anyone below me as well as the creaking and loud noise was unfortunate. Every time you took a step on the floors. I also wish there had been a small refrigerator in the room.

Charming unconventional hotel in several outbuildings in an urban setting. Cafe and restaurant/bar more or less onsite. Beautiful setting

I was placed in a wheelchair accessible room though I do not use one. The room was spacious and with grab bars and other safety features but no table or desk, no chair. I think anyone would appreciate a place to work in their room.

For me the location was great. Walking distance to grounds and uni accommodation. Room was a good size with good draw and closet space. Close to the main house if you wanted to use the sauna and pool. Each house also had a separate lounge area to use which worked when my son came to visit.

If you are looking for a bath in your room mine didn’t have one. Was fine for me but FYI

Beautiful buildings in a beautiful setting!! Very relaxing environment.

Disappointed with the lobby coffee area being out of regular coffee, and the limited availability of ice. I didn’t like having to ask for it and then not being able to get any in the morning at all without walking to the cafe. They were pretty busy and I didn’t feel comfortable asking them to stop serving guests to get me ice.

Nice rooms and facilities. Pool was nice as was bar. Staff went out of their way to accommodate. Restaurant was terrific.

Only bummer was no refrigerator or microwave in room despite their being plenty of room for both in the room we had. Staff always provided ice if requested.

As an ADA visitor, we had an ADA room that was near perfect for slight mobility issues, not large enough for a wheelchair and toilet was not ADA height (bars were great in bath and shower needed hand held head for seat convenience). Next time we will know to reserve the ADA suite and work directly with the Inn. Booking.com should have a better query for ADA client needs in Inns and hotels.

We LOVED staying at the Oakhurst Inn. The staff, the food and drinks, the entire place… just perfect! Pool area is cozy and peaceful, perfect water temperature… staff incredibly friendly, polite and proactive. Couldn’t recommend it more!

They were very kind, they welcomed us with a greeting card for our 10th wedding anniversary and gave us two drinks. The attention is very good, open to give you recommendations and help you make your stay special. We loved celebrating our anniversary there. Super recommended!

I appreciated the quiet, clean room. I was able to work and slept soundly. I would like to return for a weekend when the students are not in session to explore Charlottesville with my husband.

It was hard to get out of the cul-de-sac. Making a left turn on the main road on Friday was tricky.
