I was travelling over the weekend with my mom, sister, and dog on a trip for hiking trip at Shenandoah National Park, seeing some productions at the American Shakespeare Center, and exploring Staunton, VA. ROOM -- We got a double room on the first floor, close to the lobby. - Exceptionally clean. - Towels were well stocked. - Quiet and comfortable. Mattress was comfortable. Ample surfaces for our belongings. - Heard use of the ice machine across from our room, but we were well awake by that time in the morning, and it was just momentary as other guests were filling coolers, etc. - Even though we were on the first floor with a view of the parking lot, we did feel private, as the parking spots in front of our room were somewhat removed from the building with landscaping. - Felt safe, even leaving the door cracked as one of us ran to the lobby to get hot coffee first thing in the morning! - This is a little silly, but I appreciated that the house phone near the bed was small and did not take up the whole night stand. That left enough room on the night stand for all of our phones, jewelry, and a C-PAP without having to juggle and puzzle where things would go. - The sandalwood shampoo and conditioner smelled nice. My mom liked the leaf-shaped hand soaps :) - We feel the room could use additional places to hang towels and washcloths. HOSPITALITY -- Staff was extremely friendly and helpful/accommodating. - Greeted immediately by staff upon checking in. - Easy to find a staff member, if needed. - Continental breakfast was perfect for our needs: hot coffee/tea, some protein, fresh fruit. Tasted good. - Staff was very attentive to stocking and keeping the buffet clean. PARKING -- Well maintained lot right off 64/81 - Parking lot was well lit with a dog walking spot nearby. - Many spots available, none of which were too far from any of the doors. - Plenty of luggage carts available, too. - Interesting rock formation behind lobby to gaze at while walking the dog.
This is a small preference of mine -- the sheets on the bed were a synthetic fiber, and I prefer a natural fiber like cotton. They were still clean and comfortable. And I understand using this type of fabric for a room in which dogs are permitted, as the hair does not collect on this type of fiber as much.

Pleasantly surprised by pretty much everything. I read many reviews before booking this hotel, if I'm down that way again, will definitely stay there. Also a plug for Rowe's restaurant that is across the highway from hotel, excellent. Family owned, operated since I believe 1947. Definitely enjoyed the southern hospitality and cooking!
The room and beds were comfortable, the only drawback was the small shower/toilet area, but once you figure out how to open the walk in shower door, seriously not an issue, shower was wonderful!

Extremely easy on and off interstate. We traveled with 2 dogs and I appreciated non-carpeted rooms. I also liked that breakfast included eggs and sausage and biscuits. Only minor thing was that coffee was very weak. Hotel was PERFECT for our needs that night. Women at front desk checking us in was awesome! So nice and friendly and helpful. And she came to room to help me when I couldn't figure out how to get tv going.
Like i said coffee was very weak. Maybe other thing would be to have two chairs in room. We got take out since we had dogs and only one person could sit and eat. Also, I would put pet poop bags strategically for people to clean up after dogs.

The staff is very friendly and very helpful, the rooms are comfortable, the parking is safe, and the grounds are pretty. The hotel is a couple of lights from the freeway, which is convenient, but the it's quiet. Breakfast is very nice and there's always coffee.
Can't say I appreciated the maid but management switched maids for my room and my situation did improve. If you have any issues, the manager is wonderful and she will find a solution.

Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Entire hotel was clean and updated. The room flooring appeared to be luxury vinyl rather than carpeting, which we liked. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the full breakfast was very good. We did not use the fitness facility. The hotel is a short drive from I-81 and not far from downtown Staunton, where we went for dinner. We would definitely stay here again, if in the area.
We did not like having a separate door to just the shower and the toilet with the sink right in the bedroom area. I got up earlier than my wife, but couldn't shave, trim my hair, and get ready because turning on the light over the sink would have awakened her.

Nice color on the accent wall with framed photos instead of discount home decor art which you often see. Up to date decor in the rooms, attractive modern bed spread, comfy beds, quiet. The two staff were the best we've seen anywhere in years! Must be the southern hospitality Close to major interstate connections, gas station, and Cracker Barrel
TV had very limited channels. I tried to cast from my phone but I couldn't get the wifi to let me on, it said the connection was weak. The mini fridge froze the beverages.

Completely surprised and delighted with the hotel. We were getting tired during a road trip so pulled over for the night. Excellent price for a clean, comfortable room. Staff were friendly and accommodating. 24 hour coffee and tea in the lobby. Safe, lighted parking lot. We did not eat the free breakfast so can’t comment on its quality other than the place it packed when we left and the smells coming from the dining area were inviting.
No problems or complaints.

Clean, friendly and comfortable. You would never know without being told that it was pet friendly. There were no lingering smells, Though the breakfast spread was so well done that the aroma met me as I exited my room to investigate the breakfast. A well done spread that was remarkably maintained by the staff member. Regrettably I did not get her name because she deserves heaps of praise.
Honestly cannot recall a single negative about the experience. Well done folks.

For me this was a great place to stay. It is right off the interstate, near several gas stations and grocers (if needed). The staff was pleasant and helpful as I hoped. The room was fresh, no annoying chemical odors or false air fresheners or laundry scents. The room was clean and very enjoyable. The bed was so comfortable! I will definitely stay here again if I am traveling through the area.
I have NO complaints or dislikes.

The property was located perfectly just outside of town for a quiet respite with quick access to everything that Staunton has to offer.
The absolutely only fault I could find was the ridiculous latch on the sliding door to the bathroom that was almost impossible to completely latch. You’d have to see it to believe how poorly designed it is. Everything else about our stay was excellent. We would stay there again, despite that crazy mistake.
