I was travelling over the weekend with my mom, sister, and dog on a trip for hiking trip at Shenandoah National Park, seeing some productions at the American Shakespeare Center, and exploring Staunton, VA. ROOM -- We got a double room on the first floor, close to the lobby. - Exceptionally clean. - Towels were well stocked. - Quiet and comfortable. Mattress was comfortable. Ample surfaces for our belongings. - Heard use of the ice machine across from our room, but we were well awake by that time in the morning, and it was just momentary as other guests were filling coolers, etc. - Even though we were on the first floor with a view of the parking lot, we did feel private, as the parking spots in front of our room were somewhat removed from the building with landscaping. - Felt safe, even leaving the door cracked as one of us ran to the lobby to get hot coffee first thing in the morning! - This is a little silly, but I appreciated that the house phone near the bed was small and did not take up the whole night stand. That left enough room on the night stand for all of our phones, jewelry, and a C-PAP without having to juggle and puzzle where things would go. - The sandalwood shampoo and conditioner smelled nice. My mom liked the leaf-shaped hand soaps :) - We feel the room could use additional places to hang towels and washcloths. HOSPITALITY -- Staff was extremely friendly and helpful/accommodating. - Greeted immediately by staff upon checking in. - Easy to find a staff member, if needed. - Continental breakfast was perfect for our needs: hot coffee/tea, some protein, fresh fruit. Tasted good. - Staff was very attentive to stocking and keeping the buffet clean. PARKING -- Well maintained lot right off 64/81 - Parking lot was well lit with a dog walking spot nearby. - Many spots available, none of which were too far from any of the doors. - Plenty of luggage carts available, too. - Interesting rock formation behind lobby to gaze at while walking the dog.
This is a small preference of mine -- the sheets on the bed were a synthetic fiber, and I prefer a natural fiber like cotton. They were still clean and comfortable. And I understand using this type of fabric for a room in which dogs are permitted, as the hair does not collect on this type of fiber as much.

Extremely easy on and off interstate. We traveled with 2 dogs and I appreciated non-carpeted rooms. I also liked that breakfast included eggs and sausage and biscuits. Only minor thing was that coffee was very weak. Hotel was PERFECT for our needs that night. Women at front desk checking us in was awesome! So nice and friendly and helpful. And she came to room to help me when I couldn't figure out how to get tv going.
Like i said coffee was very weak. Maybe other thing would be to have two chairs in room. We got take out since we had dogs and only one person could sit and eat. Also, I would put pet poop bags strategically for people to clean up after dogs.

Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Entire hotel was clean and updated. The room flooring appeared to be luxury vinyl rather than carpeting, which we liked. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the full breakfast was very good. We did not use the fitness facility. The hotel is a short drive from I-81 and not far from downtown Staunton, where we went for dinner. We would definitely stay here again, if in the area.
We did not like having a separate door to just the shower and the toilet with the sink right in the bedroom area. I got up earlier than my wife, but couldn't shave, trim my hair, and get ready because turning on the light over the sink would have awakened her.

It was clean, updated and quiet. There were also a number of restaurants within 2 miles of the hotel offering a wide selection of cuisines.
We didn’t care for the bathroom layout in our room. The toilet and shower were in a separate room and the vanity was open to the bedroom. The toilet/shower room, while updated was cramped and tight. The stand up shower was nice as opposed to a tub, but the shower was small. Also the door was a pocket door and did not line up properly with the latch so the door could not be closed all the way. The sink/vanity was in the bedroom (not a separate room). Not much privacy and noisy if you got up during the night to use the bathroom.

I’m a repeat and satisfied customer. The location and proximity to I-81 makes it a convenient choice for travelers. The perfect overnight resting spot when traveling to family in the northeast from Tennessee where I live. A clean facility and quiet atmosphere make for a restful experience. Staff is friendly and ready to assist. There is coffee 24/7 and continental breakfast in the morning. Price point is great as well.
Nothing.

Staff very welcoming, showed genuine interest & informative! Eventhough hotel was under renovation, guests were isolated from construction area. Designated guest areas were clean and quiet. Breakfast options were very good.....REAL fresh brewed coffee hot entrees, bagels, yogurt, waffles, fruit, etc. (another Sleep Inn on my trip offered machine coffee, and only waffles or cold cereal)
No exercise room or pool. Breakfast seating was limited....maybe due to construction. Price was a bit high considering construction.

The property was very easy to get to, very clean and pleasant, good breakfast, well a portioned, but the staff really pushed it over the top. They were all very helpful, very professional and very pleasant. It was close to wonderful local attractions, the Shenandoah national Park and of course it’s in the valley, which is wonderful.
I can’t think of anything I didn’t like except maybe it would’ve been great to have a pool but that’s really not expected

Very clean and comfortable. Easy access with 2 gas stations close.pets are welcome. Loved being on the back side with a view of the cliff. Breakfast was very good. Just got checked put or something before we left. Came back from breakfast at 630 AM and key didn't work!!! Had to go to desk to get key reset. Not sure why.. Other than that nice stay. Janine was very nice at check in.
Getting locked out of our room at 630 AM.

The staff is always friendly whenever we stay on our travels north. The renovations are a definite improvement. The breakfast is well stocked and perfect for our needs.
Unfortunately, the room refrigerator wasn’t working to capacity. We ended up having to throw away the perishable food we had. The other problem was the air conditioning unit. It would kick on with a loud, grinding noise that continued until it was dialed back. Was not conducive to a good night’s sleep.

Visually it was spotless! The desk staff told me the renovations were nearly complete, and it was clearly evident that the hotel had been redone…it looked like a new hotel 😃. I thought the breakfast choice was very sufficient and well stocked.
The breakfast area is nice, but seating can be limited when the hotel is busy. I wish they had an area outside to eat…that would help with the overflow on busy mornings.
