The person who answered was rude, condescending and frankly mean. I was given a 1pm check out, with a tone of annoyance and disrespect. Housekeeping and check-in, bar service and restaurant service had been excellent up to that point. It's unfortunate how one person can ruin an entire stay.

If you're young and love a good party, this hotel is your paradise. The rooftop, the bar, and all the energy are right up your alley. But if, like us, you're a more senior couple looking for some peace and quiet, get ready for a symphony of sounds: elevators going up and down, people heading to the rooftop, and the lobby bar buzzing non-stop. We were expecting a classic, elegant hotel... and what we got was a building full of life, party vibes, and a bit of chaos. Not exactly what we had in mind, but hey, who doesn’t enjoy a little fun now and then?

Beautiful facility in an excellent location within walking distance of all site seeing attractions. The staff were absolutely lovely, from the valet parking to the front desk, to the restaurant/bar staff, and house keeping. Prior to this trip, I had the option of upgrading to a king suit which was approved. When we got to the hotel to check in, the upgrade was unfortunately not showing on the hotels end. However, the staff was extremely accommodating after seeing the approval through my emails and upgraded us to an even better suite, the Monumental suite, for the same price of my original upgrade. The Monumental suite was wonderful and the view from out room was stunning at all hours of the day. We were within walking distance from great restaurants, popular site seeing attractions, and could even see the White House from our window. In addition to staying at the hotel, my boyfriend had booked me a massage which was extremely relaxing. We will certainly be back to Hotel Washington for our next D.C trip and highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a nice getaway for a great value.

We stayed at the hotel Hamilton two years ago and walked past this place saying we should try staying here instead next time, mainly because the old Abbott Grill was very close. We liked eating and drinking there on our first visit. The hotel decor was lovely and although we didn’t dine in the restaurant, it looked very appealing as well. The rooftop bar was fantastic, and I wish we had more time there.

There wasn’t much that we didn’t like, but the water pressure in the shower was one minor point that could be improved upon.

It’s been the best experience ever! “You’ve got a surprise waiting for you!” And surprised we were! Stunned and amazed at the generosity of the hotel! It’s my second time to stay at Hotel Washington and I will definitely be coming back! The location is perfect; the view is mesmerising- you can sit and watch it for hours absorbing the architecture of the nearby buildings and the WWI memorial and a park. Truly they say that people make your experience unforgettable and so was our experience at Hotel Washington. Now about the room. When I reserved it, I was hoping to have a room with a view of the city. However, the website didn’t specify (that’s why it’s so important to call the hotel itself) and I reserved a standard room. When I requested and an upgrade to a deluxe one (with an outside view), I was pleasantly surprised with a suite!!! The room had the most gorgeous view! It was also sparkling clean and spacious, had a supply of water and coffee. A bathroom included a shower and a bath tub, also two robes and two pairs of slippers. Love it when hotels provide them. I want to express thank you to the staff of Hotel Washington for making our trip unforgettable!

The room was decorated and organized great. I liked the layout, the coffee maker and even the motion sensors. Loved the lights and the ladder. I also felt the common areas were spaced out nicely with comfortable seating. A place to eat, a place to relax, and a place to be social. The spiral staircase was gorgeous and fun. The meeting rooms need some maintenance, but the nice clean space is there. The best thing was the view upstairs from the restaurant.

Drinks at the lobby were very overwhelmingly priced. I can understand overpriced for convenience, but this was beyond that. The decorations could be dialed back, this is Washington D.C., classic art and some pop of color is best. It was too much with the flooring and bedazzled details.

Hotel is charming. Amazing views from the rooftop bar/ restaurant. Every staff member we encountered was super friendly and helpful. We booked this hotel because of its close proximity to the White House and literally walked across the street.

Rooms are on the smaller side but was nice and comfortable. Paying about $90 for breakfast for two people (avo toast with tea and two eggs, potatoes, toast with oj) at the rooftop bar was shocking 😳. Food was fine and although the view was pretty spectacular breakfast was definitely not worth $90. I paid less for really good dinners for two at Old Ebbit and Zaytinya.

Our stay at Hotel Washington during the busy Christmas season was nothing short of amazing. The hotel’s prime location, right next to historic monuments, made exploring the city effortless and enjoyable. Despite arriving during an incredibly busy time, with a game adding to the holiday rush, the staff provided exceptional customer service. Although check-in was delayed due to high demand, the team went above and beyond by upgrading us to a luxurious suite and including a $65 credit for the on-site restaurant—a thoughtful touch that truly elevated our experience. Special thanks to Larry, who took the time to personally tour us around the suite, pointing out all its cool features and ensuring we felt right at home. This extra care and attention to detail made us feel incredibly valued as guests. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the room felt like a sanctuary after long days of sightseeing. The bed? Absolutely divine—it was like sleeping on clouds and provided the most restful nights. Hotel Washington exceeded every expectation, turning a busy holiday season into a memorable and relaxing experience. We can’t wait to return!

Wonderful hotel, totally exceeded our expectations - very clean, friendly staff, central location and amazing roof top bar. Lovely touch with free bottled water daily, very pleasant staff especially at the front of house. Very clean both in the rooms and throughout the hotel. Close to all the major attractions, especially the Whitehouse, Ford's Theatre, and some great local restaurants all within walking distance.

Very minor point, but as this was a City hotel the rooms are slightly smaller - there wasn't much space to get out of the bed when it was used as a double for two people and would have been nice to have a small shelf / table to put water / glasses etc on.
