On my last day, I called the front desk to inquire what, if any, options I had since my flight was heading out of town quite late (7pm). The person who answered was rude, condescending and frankly mean. I was given a 1pm check out, with a tone of annoyance and disrespect. Housekeeping and check-in, bar service and restaurant service had been excellent up to that point. It's unfortunate how one person can ruin an entire stay.

Location was excellent - can see The Whitehouse across the road from the rooftop bar. The cleaning staff do a superb job and the gym is open 24/7.

Our family room had two double beds but the shower door opened into the bedroom which meant you had no privacy when you came out the shower to dry yourself. This is something the hotel needs to fix. We requested a room change and were given two separate rooms next door to each other which was a good compromise. Hotel manager Kevin was fantastic and addressed all our needs. Strongly recommend you check your family room has a bathroom with a door before you book the hotel if you are a family. No breakfast buffet unfortunately so you have to order breakfast from their menu.

It was a pleasant surprise to be able to check in at our 10:00 arrival. I had arranged to drop off our bags early since we came into the city by train, but the staff kindly accommodated us right away. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and courteous, which made the start of our stay smooth and welcoming.

We did struggle a bit with the elevator at first, as we weren’t aware that a room key was needed to activate the doors to shut. Thankfully, another guest kindly explained it to us. Also, while the atmosphere at The Vue was nice, the menu felt a bit limited—it would have been great to see more variety.

If you're young and love a good party, this hotel is your paradise. The rooftop, the bar, and all the energy are right up your alley. But if, like us, you're a more senior couple looking for some peace and quiet, get ready for a symphony of sounds: elevators going up and down, people heading to the rooftop, and the lobby bar buzzing non-stop. We were expecting a classic, elegant hotel... and what we got was a building full of life, party vibes, and a bit of chaos. Not exactly what we had in mind, but hey, who doesn’t enjoy a little fun now and then?

We had an incredible stay at Hotel Washington! From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, attentive, and professional. The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the White House and central to all the must-see spots in D.C. The rooms were stylish and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The rooftop bar offered stunning views of the city and was the perfect place to unwind in the evening. Whether you're visiting for business or pleasure, Hotel Washington is a sophisticated, well-appointed choice that delivers on all fronts. We’ll absolutely be back!

We loved the view from VUE. Good drinks and a great way to watch the sunset. It was very clean in all areas of the hotel. The bed was perfect as we normally have issues with hotel beds, but not this one! Check-in was easy and we even were able to get in 2 hours early! We loved that it was a short walking distance from all of the museums.

There wasn't much we didn't like. The main feedback was that the drinks were INSANELY expensive. almost $30 for a single vodka soda is crazy to me. I know we were in the city so I expected to pay about $15-$16 for a simple drink but to double that cost seemed like a huge rip-off. The only thing I would have changed was that I would not have drank at this hotel. There are hundreds of different restaurants and bars in the same vicinity with drinks that are half the price for the same thing. Other than that, they could use more employees at the check-in/check-out desks but waiting did not bother us. Everyone is short-staffed right now so it could have been something they couldn't have helped.

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the entire staff was lovely and helpful. One of the questions asked is "is it family friendly" and I took my family with me, but they are all grow adults. This is an exquisite hotel and high-powered people meet here and stay here (and the proximity to the White House is excellent), so I don't believe it's suitable for small children. If you do bring children, they should be quiet and well behaved for this environment.

I thought the room was very small for all four of us. I can't remember if they stated the beds were queen sized, but they were definitely full (which is smaller than a queen). My room was an upgrade, the staff informed me, and it's hard to imagine the room and space being any smaller. I thought it was a tight fit for four people and all the luggage. It's perfect for two people, however.

Yes, you get to know the staff by their first name. they smile when they see you. Don’t be surprised if staff wants you to have the best time here. It begins at hotel Washington. Front desk staff is maybe the best I’ve experienced around the world. Totally dedicated. Often times busy, but not too busy to make sure you’re happy. The Spa and the services are a solid 10. The most comfortable hydraulic massage therapy table I’ve ever experienced. The touted roof bar is too crowded and very noisy. That means it’s popular, but not for this traveler.

if there was only one complaint, it would be the patio restaurant and bar. It’s a good location and a good idea with unfortunately a not so great menu, overpriced small drinks, so-so food, and slow on the service side. That’s about it.

Beautiful facility in an excellent location within walking distance of all site seeing attractions. The staff were absolutely lovely, from the valet parking to the front desk, to the restaurant/bar staff, and house keeping. Prior to this trip, I had the option of upgrading to a king suit which was approved. When we got to the hotel to check in, the upgrade was unfortunately not showing on the hotels end. However, the staff was extremely accommodating after seeing the approval through my emails and upgraded us to an even better suite, the Monumental suite, for the same price of my original upgrade. The Monumental suite was wonderful and the view from out room was stunning at all hours of the day. We were within walking distance from great restaurants, popular site seeing attractions, and could even see the White House from our window. In addition to staying at the hotel, my boyfriend had booked me a massage which was extremely relaxing. We will certainly be back to Hotel Washington for our next D.C trip and highly recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a nice getaway for a great value.

We stayed at the hotel Hamilton two years ago and walked past this place saying we should try staying here instead next time, mainly because the old Abbott Grill was very close. We liked eating and drinking there on our first visit. The hotel decor was lovely and although we didn’t dine in the restaurant, it looked very appealing as well. The rooftop bar was fantastic, and I wish we had more time there.

There wasn’t much that we didn’t like, but the water pressure in the shower was one minor point that could be improved upon.
