We spent just one night here, but I wish it was more! This hotel was beautiful and had a heap of history. Despite its age, it was wonderfully refurbed and so well appointed. The room was huge, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was stunning. The shower was huge and glorious. I loved the location as well, it was easy to walk to some major monuments and museums. It was the perfect spot for our quick trip. We tried to have breakfast, but hadn't thought about the fact it was a Saturday during the Christmas holidays, so it was really busy and we didn't have time. So if you're there on a weekend, go to breakfast early! I can also highly recommend The Hamilton restaurant that was nearby. ALSO, if you want to do the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum, be sure to 'book' your tickets well in advanced. While they are free, their popularity is off the chart so they ticket it.

Nothing, the place was fantastic.

Just about everything. The location is unbeatable, the facilities are excellent, and everything—from the historic charm to the elegance and cleanliness—reflects the highest standards. The staff were exceptional: warm, professional, and incredibly supportive. A special thank you to Natalia at reception and Hassan at the concierge desk—both were wonderfully helpful and made our stay even more special. We also want to acknowledge the gentleman at Café du Parc (apologies for forgetting the name) who provided outstanding service with such grace. We truly appreciated everyone’s efforts and look forward to returning soon!

The Willard would be one of the best places to stay in Washington. The room was great. Excellent location to the Mall and all the museums and other tourist attractions. Five minute walk to the White House and an easy walk to the Capitol Building. The hotel is a very ornate building, with beautiful features. Loved the Round Robin Bar and the staff that worked at the bar were excellent.

Very little to criticise! Expensive, but USA prices are high generally so cannot say hotel was overpriced. The handheld shower attachment wasn't working but that was a minor gripe. I had to unplug the radio /alarm clock as the blue light disturbed my sleep. It would be nice to have fresh milk provided for tea and coffee.

The staff were very friendly- I had a bad cold and unfortunately just went to bed after I arrived - reception offered me late check out which is just what I needed to get some rest. Was sad I didn’t have opportunity to enjoy restaurant etc but will visit again some other time hopefully!

Beautiful building and decor, great service and location

Heating on the first level was spotty. The Round Robin bar was chilly. The first level restrooms were very cold. For such an exceptional structure, I expected better. But it was very cold outside, and overall I liked the hotel

Beautifully restored historic hotel in excellent location. Public rooms are magnificent. Guest rooms were quiet and comfortable.

Bathroom vanity was falling apart and clearly needed maintenance. They had it propped up with 3 wooden blocks. Definitely not in keeping with the feel of the rest of the room. Also....shower only produced lukewarm water and spray was very weak.

Everything was wonderful. Room was spacious, breakfast was wonderful, staff were very friendly and helpful. It’s a great location for seeing the Mall and the museums and monuments. Cafe du Parc was also great for dinner.

There were foreign delegations that caused the hotel to feel like the airport. Also, protesters were loud.

The people!!! There are many very nice hotels in Washington DC ....what makes intercontinental stand out is THE PEOPLE! I am a executive protection agent and have stayed in just about every fancy hotel there is in Washington DC. Most of them have a superiority complex. The staff is so proud of themselves for working there they forget they're there to work for you! Not here, at the intercontinental Willard and the one on the Wharf the people who work there do an outstanding job. In my recent stay we had an unusual situation.... at about 5:30 AM. We had a situation that needed to be addressed immediately. And that is exactly what happened. The entire staff jumped into action and handled the situation better than expected. No need to go into details just know that when you stay at one of the intercontinental hotels in Washington DC the people who work there will take care of you even when it's 5:30 in the morning. Jaap Boelens, Vanessa Perez and Marisse Wong were the three employees I dealt with directly and they were outstanding! I hope this review finds its way to the main office and I hope they understand what a great team of people they have working at both of these hotels. And yes of course the entire hotel is beautiful the sheets are clean and nice the room is perfectly clean the locations are outstanding. We make at least a dozen trips to the Washington DC area every year and these two hotels will definitely be our home away from home moving forward.

Absolutely nothing the intercontinental hotels in Washington DC are outstanding.
