We spent 6 nights at South Pacific Memories following a two week sailing and scuba diving cruise to various islands of Vanuatu. With only 4 bungalows SPM is a cozy place far enough away from Port Vila for a perfectly relaxing holiday. Nothing much to do out there except for chilling in the shade of the wonderful trees or on the coral beach or swimming in front of the resort (which exactly was what we were looking for). Did a couple of dives with on site PADI dive shop including a (highly recommended) night dive. Lots of small fish in big variety but not much coral due to a Crown of Thorn invasion in 2017. But it seems that the coral are growing again. Very family type and relaxed atmosphere with wonderful hosts Anne & Petter (Norwegian). We enjoyed the tapas style lunch every day and the excellent dinner six days a week (no dinner on Mondays). Highly recommended boutique resort for those looking for tranquility and relaxation (or have a rent-car…Port Vila is a 30 min drive only).

My partner and I had the most incredible stay here for 5 nights. The whole place is absolutely beautiful, the gardens, dining areas, pool and walkways are all so well looked after. We were actually surprised by how spacious it felt. With only four bungalows spread out across the property, each with its own lovely garden space, it never felt crowded. They easily could have fit more, but the choice to keep it small and peaceful really made a difference. Anne and Petter were absolutely lovely, so welcoming and accommodating, and they really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. Laura and Ed were also fantastic, full of great advice for things to do, and all the other staff were equally helpful and friendly. The food was beautiful, with so much care put into using fresh local produce meaning every meal felt really special. And having the beach literally out the front was perfect. The reef starts just meters off the shore, and the amount of marine life right there was amazing with so many fish and corals, and all the snorkeling gear was provided (and really good quality too). As keen snorkelers, having such easy access to the reef was a huge highlight. We also loved being just outside of town — far enough to be peaceful and quiet, but still only a quick bike ride or bus trip into town when we wanted. We honestly couldn’t recommend this place more, and would love to come back one day!

Honestly everything was absolutely ideal

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at South Pacific Memories. Everything is thoughtfully and beautifully designed from the buildings and interiors to the meals and welcome messages. Our room/villa was clean and comfortable and it was great to be able to sit up on our rooftop deck for a sunset drink. Anne and Petter are wonderful hosts and their staff are helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and we especially enjoyed our lap lap dinner at Lesha's place. The snorkelling is amazing. You simply walk into the water (don't forget your reef shoes) a short distance (a bit further at low tide) and start to see beautiful fish. I had done a lot of research to find out that South Pacific Memories would be a great place for off the beach snorkelling and I wasn't disappointed.

South Pacific Memories is a bit isolated but we embraced the opportunity to do very little other than snorkel, read, and eat delicious food. But if that isn't what you like, you can easily walk to Pacific Cove Resort for a change of scenery, catch a bus around to Breakers, or catch a bus into Port Vila. You can also hire a car during your stay so that you can travel around Efate.

The bungalows are very spacious and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful. The property is in a quiet area. It has a really nice garden and beach access with a coral reef just outside for snorkelling. As the property only has 4 rooms, it is quite private which we enjoyed. Perfect for a relaxing holiday! The restaurant is also good.

Not the resort's fault at all, but note that the resort is a little far from the city center so a car rental is convenient but the access road is in really bad shape (as are most roads in Vanuatu) so it takes a little longer to reach the town than Google maps tells you (especially if you have a small car). Also not a very pleasant drive at night.

So much love in every detail! From the amazing paintings and quotes on the walls, to the modern and well equipped (huge) bathroom to the comfortable bed. Not to forget your own rooftop terrace with a hammock to watch the stars at night. The lunch and dinner (4 course menue every night, except if closed) from the Italian Chef Andrea are nothing less but delicious! The beautiful location directly at the beach with some amazing snorkeling places, sunbeds for some sunbathing and kayaks definitely help to unwind and enjoy your stay. To round up your amazing day at South Pacific Memories, you will watch the most stunning sunsets on the island and enjoy your cocktail or glass of wine during happy hour. There are also free bikes you can get to explore a little bit the neighbourhood. Honeymoon beach is definitely worth a visit and on days when the Restaurant is closed, you can go to the Three Pigs (by bike) or walk to one of the resorts next door. If you walk a bit further down, you can also catch a bus to Port Vila. Last but definitely not least, I want to mention that all the staff are so lovely and Anne and Petter are just the best hosts! The chef, Andrea, is amazing. Each night we were treated to a 4 course meal... Which felt like being a guest at someone's house. Very personal and delicious. Pizza is out of this world. The staff, all attentive and fabulous. Special mention to Dora, she's a gem. She was absolutely one of the highlights for us. Her care and personal attention...we so appreciated it. Anna and Petter are amazing hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. We snorkeled and kayaked right off the beach. Fantastic.

Can't think of anything I didn't like.

Anne and Petter are both very kind, friendly and helpful. I can’t speak more highly of the rest of the staff either, we felt incredibly well looked after! The ability to walk straight out to a beautiful snorkelling spot was great. It is in a bit of a secluded/isolated spot which is great to enjoy the peace and quiet but does mean you may need to walk a bit before getting a bus - not a major issue we managed perfectly. Get ready for some stunning Vanuatuan sunsets 🌅

We loved the location right on the water, free of boats and easy to walk into the water to snorkel. We loved the layout, the friendly staff, the privacy of each unit, the food, the tranquil ambience and we LOVED Molly the dog.

We cannot mention one thing about the facility or service. It was very hot and very humid weather for our stay. We adjusted and loved the whole experience.

Gorgeous secluded island paradise. The facilities were well kept and the room equipped with everything you might need, the staff were lovely and accomodating. The location was out of this world - if you love the ocean, snorkeling and nature this is the place for you. We loved everything about South Pacific memories.

Nothing! Consider hiring a car in advance if you plan on seeing lots of the island or being out late on the weekends as you may need to walk a fair way to grab a bus into town.

From the warm welcome on day one right through to our departure, South Pacific Memories was our best holiday in a long time. Delicious, fresh food, a fabulous snorkelling location, magnificent views and great accommodation. Petta, Anna, Andrea and the wonderful staff spoilt us rotten. The try dive course was a great taster for scuba diving too,. There is no doubt we will return to this paradise soon!
