Lovely breakfast each morning which we ate looking at the river and mountains. Great location. Bikes can be used for free to see the local area. For a small fee they will also wash your clothes. Lots of nice restaurants nearby to try. Views from this hotel are amazing. They also helped us book cave tours and a car to our next destination.

Bikes were usable but need fixing up. Tyres needed to be pumped up and breaks were really squeaky and loud.

EVERYTHING ! The host went extra mile to make sure we can arrive safely in the middle of the night after bus dropped us off a bit far from it ( she sent private car as there no taxis available in the middle of the night ) Rooms are good, with good aircon and comfortable beds. Included Breakfast is good with freshly made juice/coffee - also lunch/dinner option are plentiful and taste very good. Pool is a blast - big, deep enough to have fun or just chill after hot day activities. On top of that - they had 4 cute tiny little puppies that my children could not stop playing with ! I wish I could come back there again ! I forgot to mention - we took 3 different tours here and each one was great / good value. Kayaking in Phong Nha cave is a MUST DO !!! Ability to pay once for all with a card / cash is also useful ( as withdrawing cash for all activities with the withdrawal limits would be a nightmare )

It was a perfect oasis in Phong Nha, right across the road from the river and a 5 minute bike ride into town. Room was big and comfortable. Great having a swimming pool to cool off in the afternoon after a long morning of adventure and discovery. Xiem and her family were great in answering all our questions and helping us make the most of our stay with suggestions for tours. The Homestay has bikes available for free and also can provide motorbike riders for longer journey's around the national park. After a stay of 5 days we were sad to leave as we had begun to feel part of the Phong Nha family.

We liked everything! The staff was great, the rooms we spacious and clean and the beds and showers good as well (we hade 2 rooms). The pool is not very big, but as there's not much guests at the same time, it's perfect for the kids to play games in and cool off. They have free bikes you can use, which are a bit wonky, but perfectly fine to get around town. If you want to take longer tours they have scooters for rent for not much. Breakfast is basic but very tasty. We didn't have diner here, as we were away most evenings, but the do offer it and there were quite a bit of people there. Their dog is lovely and she just had 7 puppies, so our kids didn't really want to leave. It's a great spot to explore the national park and the caves!

The rooms were superclean and functional. Towels were replaced after a couple of days and there was complimentary water tea and coffee upon arrival. They arranged our transfer from dong hoi which we appreciated. You could use bikes for free. The people in the restaurant were very friendly. Lots of families staying there which was wonderful for us.

Once they realized upon arrival at reception we would not book a tour through them they stopped speaking to us. They were not unfriendly but we were not relevant any more. This was commented on by other guests too. We thus rented scooters elsewhere. The restaurant on site was rather pricey so we opted to eat out elsewhere. Great Vietnamese choices just a fewhouses down and also around the market area. It felt a bit rundown outside (compared to pictures used in the ad) but the pool was nice to use.

The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and very clean, beds are comfortable. There was a big closet to store clothes. The rooms are surrounding the pool and garden on 2 levels and there is a beautiful view of the mountains from the pool. The staff is wonderful, it's a family run business. Xiem, the manager was very communicative and answered all my 1000 questions prior to arrival on whatsapp and during our stay as well. She was very helpful with information and I would recommend booking all tours through the homestay. The price is the same or slightly lower than what I was quoted elsewhere but more importantly: the tours are with good operators. And it was nice that we could pay the tours together with the hotel bill at the end (by card). It's a good 20 min walk into town but the homestay has bicycles that you can use and there are also restaurants close by. Would really recommend the Phong Nha Cave 4km Kayaking tour (incl bouldering) as long as you are moderately fit and into a bit of adventure. It was our highlight of 3 weeks in Central Vietnam. For this tour, and the Dark Cave as well: bring water shoes! We stayed for 3 nights and I would really recommend this homestay!

There was nothing I did not like. It would have been nice to have a small drying rack for excursion towels or bathing suits outside the room. But you can use the outdoor chairs or the banister.

The customer service at lucky homes was exceptional. Xiem was so efficient and helpful. She was in contact with us prior to our arrival to arrange transport from the couch station as we arrived late and there would be no taxis. She also booked a fantastic tour for us and our coach to Ninh Binh. One of her colleagues waited up for us to ensure we managed to get our night bus OK and gave us some water for the journey. The food at the restaurant was really delicious and you can sit by the river looking at the mountains whilst you enjoy your breakfast/dinner/beer! The pool was lovely and we enjoyed taking out the free bikes out for cycles around the beautiful surrounding area. The room and bathroom were spacious, comfortable and clean with an amazing ceiling!! (You’ll see if you book the room!).

Everything was great!

The room had all the essentials and was very large and clean. The bed was comfortable and they had a heater in case it was cold. The bathroom was huge. The staff was very attentive and made sure I was well cared for. It was nice to have a restaurant that served delicious food. They even gave me a peanut butter sandwich for my bus ride without charging. The staff helped with organizing transportation which ran smoothly. Although the hotel is across the road from the river, they have tables that you can have your food and watch the boats go by.

Nothing. There will be noise from roosters and dogs but that’s part of the rural landscape.

We stayed here just after a typhoon had passed through and it was still raining heavily when we arrived. Despite the dreadful conditions, we had a memorable 2-day stay at this family run homestay, especially when the weather cleared up a little. Linh the receptionist was exceptionally helpful, communicating via WhatsApp message. We booked a transfer to and from Dong Hoi railway station, about a 1-hour drive, which they do themselves for a very reasonable VND 500,000 each way (about £16). Its a short walk into town along the riverside road and there are plenty of bars and eateries along the way. In the other direction, you can borrow a bike (free) and cycle up to the Dark Cave, catching a ferry over to the entrance. We were unable to visit due to flooding, but was still worth it for the ride up the valley. We booked a tour of the Paradise cave, which was spectacular. The teenagers in our group visited the duck farm, which they really enjoyed.

No improvements necessary.

The staff was lovely and kind, made sure they did everything they could to help me. The room and the bathroom are very spacious, and the aircon works great to keep the place fresh. The garden and flowers around it make the place look charming.

Not a big deal, but the sink in my room wasn't angled exactly straight, and it is a square basin sink, so it accumulates water. I am unsure if that is the trouble or something else, but there is a bad drainage smell now and again.
