I had a really nice stay at Phong Nha Ecolodge Homestay. The family running it is very welcoming and helpful, always ready to assist with anything from tour recommendations to transportation. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the surroundings are peaceful, making it a great place to unwind after exploring the caves. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though not luxurious—more of a simple, homely feel. The food was good, with some nice homemade meals. Overall, a great place if you’re looking for a friendly, family-run stay with genuine hospitality. Would definitely recommend it!

The only small downside is that it’s a little outside the main town, but they help with arranging transport, so it’s not a big issue.

From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the cleanliness and orderliness of the property. Everything was spotless, and the atmosphere was calm and serene — perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The hosts were incredibly warm and hospitable. They went out of their way to make sure I felt at home throughout my stay. One of the highlights was that the lady of the house kindly picked me up from the bus station, which was a thoughtful touch that immediately made me feel welcome. She then personally showed me to the homestay, which was a great way to start my visit. In addition to being great hosts, they were also extremely helpful in organizing tours and assisting with transportation. They provided clear information about bus schedules and even helped me plan a few excursions during my stay. It's clear that they genuinely care about their guests' experience and are always ready to offer assistance when needed. I truly appreciate the attention to detail and the personal care they put into making their guests feel comfortable. The homestay is in a quiet, peaceful area, making it a great place to relax after a busy day of sightseeing or outdoor activities. My stay was great and comfortable. The place is well run and maintained by a family, and I could also communicated with them as well as other foreign visitors there. The price was very affordable and already included breakfast for me. So that's a big plus for making me want to return there if I re-visit Phong Nha. Besides, I forgot my item at the fridge, and their staff was willing to go to the town center and asked the bus driver to give it to me in Dong Hoi city on that day. Their enthusiasm is much appreciated.

The host could have shared what services they were offering. I walked to the town center to rent a motorbike and she told me afterwards that they could also have leased their bike to me :)

Beautiful homestay! Very nice family that runs it! The mother is a great cook and has a menu to order from. We ordered noodle soup with chicken 3 times and it was delicious! The rooms are fairly new and nice with good hot water. The family picked us up at 4am in the rain from the bus in their car and let us do early check in for only 50K per person!! They were super helpful when it came to recommendations around the area and getting from place to place. Would DEFINITELY stay here again!

Not great ventilation in the rooms (window doesn't open) so it gets a little stuffy and humid but we left the door open for a bit and it cleared. Location a bit far from town but family helped us get there when needed no problem.

The owner was very helpful, helped me to book bus before TET holiday lockdown. Breakfast is twice the size of other guesthouses. It was very cold and owner let me stay in room until 9pm waiting for bus pickup. Owner refused extra money, good heart, thank you so much. It is great area to cycle around. Duck stop is highly recommended. Cheap barbecue restaurant in the market will fill you up. There is moto rental. Pool looks nice would have been great on hot day. One block from river many places to eat overlooking the river.

The weather was cold.

We had a little misunderstanding regarding repayment,hotel owner realising the over charge after I left for Hoi An, promptly refund by transferring money to hotel owner in Hoi An so I only had to pay the difference for my Hoi An stay. I was amazed she work out a way to refunding my money. Thank you so much ☺️. Oh forgot to mention her husband picked me up from my 4 am arrival 🫶

The pool was a godsend with the hot weather. We liked the fact that we had a family room with bunk beds and a double bed so the kids were able to sleep in a bunk bed instead of having to share a double bed. Plenty of little restaurants nearby on the riverfront. Tours buses and caving trips can be organised by the hotel. Very quick and efficient laundry service.

Shame there wasn't free bikes as it was quite hot to walk into the town centre.

The family is absolutely adorable and fantastic hosts! They offered a lot of help with planning our trip around Phong Nha on a budget, organized pick-ups, onward bus tickets, and even brought us to the bus stop. They are super friendly and very well organized. Thank you for everything 🫶 The rooms are charming, have hot water, are nicely decorated and super clean (by far the cleanest accomodation we had so far in Vietnam). The location is a 5-10 min walk away from the centre but that guarantees great sleep and a lot of relaxation.

The room was lovely and the location was great, a few minutes from the river and within easy reach of lots of restaurants. Hong and her family made us feel so welcome even inviting us to join for some beers and snacks over the Tet period. She also helped us with booking a cave tour which was great and bus back to Hanoi. Would definitely stay here again!

Ecolodge has everything you need, everything you want. The owners are very kind, smiling and proposes everything you’ll need to have a great Time in Phong Nha. (Caves guided tour, free bikes, motorcycle location) Breakfasts are good, Vietnamese coffees are excellent ! Pool is definitely a plus !
