We stayed for 5 nights and we really enjoyed the hotel! It was ideally situated just outside the imperial city and we had the opportunity to walk around the best part of Hue.The room (loft) was spacious, comfortable, super clean and quiet at night. Breakfast was very good and the staff was polite and professional. We also ate every day in hotel’ s restaurant , which we don’t do in general while on vacation but we really appreciated the traditional environment and the food, especially fish plates was really good too. Overall, we would stay again and we surely recommend it!

Hotel is built in an appealing style, reminiscent of the Imperial Palace, which is not far. Breakfast was good quality, although certain items ran out quickly and were not replenished. Clean and comfortable bedrooms/bathrooms, and wifi was reasonably fast. Spa facilities were clean and treatments very good.

It's a bit in no-man's land - very few coffee shops and restaurants around, and even though it's very close to the Imperial Palace compound, the entrance is on the opposite side, so that's a 20-30 minute walk. For that you might as well stay in town, on the other side of the river.

Spatel d’Annam Boutique Hotel What a lovely hotel for us to enjoy at the end of our trip to Vietnam. We selected this hotel for its reviews which were so positive as well as for its fantastic position, close to the Royal Imperial Palace. Our room had a mezzanine with the bed upstairs and the bathroom and sitting area downstairs. We have been so fortunate during our travels to meet the staff who make the accommodation so pleasurable. We had the most wonderful welcome from Tu Trinh on our arrival. She explained clearly all our options for our stay and provided a very helpful map to get to and from the night markets, some of the historic monuments and the city centre. Arriving on New Year’s Eve we shared a special set menu dinner. It was a very happy affair where we met other guests and had a chat with the manager of the hotel, Dang Nhan and Ms Ly who so kindly guided my wife through the options for a coeliac. We enjoyed our stay. They took care to provide gluten free options each morning at breakfast, and my wife enjoyed a relaxing massage at the spa. On our departure we were farewelled as life long friends. These wonderful people who took such beautiful care of us during our stay will stay in our memories for ever. We will certainly return to once again enjoy the hospitality and kindness of all at the Spatel d’Annam.

It was just right for us so no problems encountered

This hotel was absolutely amazing, having a charm of "old Hue". The room was comfortable and clean, and housekeeping was checking in every day. Great spa onsite and swimming pool ( mostly empty till 5pm).

Keep in mind it's close to Citadel but far from the city centre, so there's not much going around. Of course, you can easily take grab to centre.

Staff were friendly and helpful, the bed was comfortable and the shower was hot with good water pressure. The gardens were pretty and well kept and it was great to have the pool area. I had a lovely massage in the spa and we were able to arrange laundry. It was convenient for the Imperial City, and it was also convenient having a restaurant and Salon de The on site, although it was easy to pick up a cyclo to get around as well. Breakfast choice was good, and we enjoyed freshly cooked omelettes.

There wasn't much room for clothes storage other than a couple of hangers, and the chairs on the balcony were not very comfortable, even when using the cushion provided.

A quaint hotel with tons of character and local charm set in the local dark wood. Our room (quiet) and bathroom (lots of hot water) had a luxurious feel with a baloney overlooking the garden and pool. The restaurant on site was picturesque and traditional, overlooking small gardens. The food and service were also excellent. The breakfast was the usual fare for tourists but plentiful. The staff were helpful and pleasant, and they always had a greeting and smile, especially the room ladies. The location was within minutes to the citadel, and the free bikes (decent bikes) were a bonus for exploring. Overall, l would recommend this hotel to family & friends.

Not a complaint but a friendly observation. The tiles in the shower are quite slimmery went went. Perhaps a plastic non- slim mat would be beneficial, especially for mature people.

Great location by the Palace. Historic hotel as it used to be the hospital for the Royal family. They've restored the buildings very sympathetically. The restaurant was very good. We had a very nice dinner and ambience was pleasant. We had a couple of Spa treatments which were very nice too. Breakfast was simple but not too extensive. But they kindly made up a breakfast box for us as we were leaving very early the next morning.

We had one of the Duplex King rooms. Whilst it was novel - it was a bit of a pain negotiating the wooden steps down to the bathroom. Bedroom was in the mezzanine. Comfortable bed. sofa downstairs was not very comfortable to relax on. We also had issues with the TV's. The bedroom TV only gave access to Netflix/Apple etc. You can't just watch the normal TV there- have to use the living area TV.

Amazing and unique interior design full of character with colourful rooms and hotel foyer. Location is excellent for visiting the historic Citadel and quiet compared to the town centre across the river. An interesting history of the site as a former residence connected to the royal family's doctors. Comfortable room and particularly nice shampoo!

We discovered how well sound travels between other guest rooms on our second night. Unfortunately a neighbouring guest was up ALL night talking loudly and this kept us up due to the poor sound proofing. There is signage reminding guests to be quiet in hallways so feel this was a reflection of a rude guest rather than something the hotel could improve on. We heard nothing the first night. The breakfast offering could be improved as it felt food wasn't replenished regularly (go early).

The rooms are beautifully presented and very clean.The bathroom,shower, and air con worked a treat.The staff were very helpful, and the position was great as very quiet but close to the citadel and a short walk into the city centre.Breakfast was good.We also dined in the restaurant which was lovely.Thank you so much for a super stay!

Not really a complaint but feedback. The hairdryer in our room was not good enough at all to dry hair and also when we asked to borrow an iron for our clothes ,they wouldn't provide one for us which was not great after having everything in our case.

Gorgeous room and grounds. Really enjoyed the pool after a long hot day of sight-seeing.

Disappointed that there was not an early check-in option available.
