The hotel's breakfast area was delightful. a lovely courtyard with trees and plants. the spread for breakfast was extensive. The view from the window of the river and park. The decoration of the hotel was interesting. The location was good, we enjoyed walking by the river and visiting the Citadel with the option to pop back to the hotel to cool off midday.

Being banned from eating anything in the room but room service with financial threat. We often want a small snack in the evening before bed. The next hotel we stayed in (The Myst Dong Khoi in HCMC) had no such restrictions, AND the mini bar items were free (except for alcohol) including bottles of water to take out for the day. Morin charged for those. The Myst also had an extensive free afternoon tea every day. I know we pay for this in the end in the room charge but it was a very good PR move. Something for the Morin to think about.

It is a beautiful historic hotel, dating from 1901, with a very interesting history. We enjoyed reading about it from the displays all around. The location is perfect, on the river, close to the citadel and walking streets for restaurants. There was a huge range of foods at breakfast. Our room was large and elegant with a view of the river. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We took a couple of their tours (we usually organise ourselves) which were well planned and good value.

Very little that we didn’t like. Although there was a wide choice at breakfast, there wasn’t much choice for me as a vegan. There was soya milk available on request. The lighting in the room was gentle, with lamps and uplighters, which were pretty but not easy for reading.

The Saigon Morin is a older style French colonial hotel (just celebrated its 124th birthday). It’s perfectly situated next to the river and a comfortable walk to the citadel (or plenty of cyclos available if you want to save your energy for inside the citadel). Breakfast is served in the garden which is a lovely change. Rooms are huge and windows can be opened to let in fresh air (double glazed if you want to block out the street noise). We had limited wifi reception in our room on the first day and the IT worked some magic to have it up to speed first thing the next day.

Room view from our room 311 was great - looking into the bridge changing colour at night. Location perfect, an easy walk to the Imperial City & Dong Ba market. Breakfast range was good. Bun Bo Hue broth was really good (we normally don’t expect large batch cooking to have this great quality). The Hotel has a long history in Hue and I like that a lot of old photos and materials proudly displayed as bout it.

The hotel can’t help this but - the central/Hue’s long rain and high humidity made the room and corridor smell musty which is unfortunate for a high end hotel. I think to the hotel should strongly consider investing in dehumidifier machines.

This is a classy, old, historic, well cared for hotel located in a wonderful central location adjacent to the Perfume River. Don't stay here if you want shiny and new. Our room was very large, with a sitting area, two double beds, a nice bathroom, strong wifi. The buffet breakfast was served in their lovely garden. The staff were unfailingly polite and responsive.

We had a room with balcony facing the street and river. It was almost too noisy because of traffic to leave the doors open. I wished we'd asked for a room facing the pool.

Room was enormous, comfortable and well air conditioned. We had a good view onto the river. Concierge were friendly and helpful, but other staff were not as engaging or friendly. A good selection of food at the buffet. Breakfast was mostly in the inner courtyard, being somewhat warm and humid for us, it was better for us when it was indoors for one morning. Pool nice and refreshing with comfortable sun lounges and umbrellas if needing shade. Great location, overall a nice experience in a hotel dating from the French colonial days in 1901.

Perhaps offering free bottled water each day as we have had at other hotels in Viet Nam, which is a nice touch.

I love that this hotel has incredible history that you can't find with a new hotel. It's one of the most important historical sites in Hue, actually! Everything was fantastic during our stay. The staff was professional and very helpful. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had wonderful views. The breakfast was fantastic, with great variety and delicious quality. I would definitely stay here again.

We picked the hotel because it's historical side to feel the pass glory time. The hotel rooms are spacious, the hallways are wide and the garden setting for eating is very pretty and calm. We particularly chose the biggest suite, executive suite to enjoy our 4 nights. The beds are huge and comfortable. Breakfast has large variety of choices. Restaurant menu consists of both Vietnam and western food. Our daily drink mango juice is very yummy. Over the bridge is a very big market for wet and dry goods. Within 10 minutes walk.

The suite is big, 120m² but finding a socker near where you sit is challenging. Other than that we find the room is very comfortable.

Saigon Morin is a charming heritage hotel, steeped in history, with about 180 rooms and long hallways lined with photographs from bygone years. We made our reservation for this hotel months before our trip, and received a very good early-bird room rate. Our room (#305) was spacious, clean, and pretty, with dark wood flooring, a wall of windows, comfy chairs & a low table, and two large comfortable beds. Writing desk & chair, and a good size suitcase rack. Safety deposit box, a small refrigerator, and good closet space. Nicely renovated bathroom with a shower separate from the bathtub. Hot water pot, coffee, tea. 2 bottles of water and fresh towels daily. Great location. Easy walking distance to many sites. The room key card is necessary to turn on the room lights, but the a/c & the refrigerator remained on even while we were out. A nice touch. Breakfast was included in our room rate, and it was an amazing spread in a lovely garden. Egg station, Bun Bo station, make-your-own Banh Me, hot dim sum nibbles, porridge & toppings, an ever-changing array of delicious Vietnamese dishes, pastries, breads, cereals, fruits, juices, coffee and tea. Hands-down the best breakfast spread we had during a month of travel through Vietnam. We had a number of hours to wait between checking out and departing the city. We spent some time relaxing in and by the pool. Very nice. The pool was clean and refreshing. Food and drink were available poolside, and there are toilet facilities and a shower.

We were very happy with our stay at Saigon Morin.

The location is very good. Across from parks and beautiful lit bridge. Near to the Citadel and close to the bars and restaurants without having the noise of being in the middle of them. The gentleman, at check in, was very accommodating.

Check out. I checked out 10 minutes before my car arrived. I returned to the desk 10 minutes later because the woman did not give me a receipt. She said I should wait and not leave so she could check the minibar...though I had checked out 10 minutes earlier. A man also tried to stop me from getting in the car. A bit of unnecessary stress. If she wanted to check the minibar she should have done this 10 minutes earlier, when there was ample time.
