Food menu in the breakfast is standard and routine. There must be innovation.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Southern Sun Ridgeway Lusaka, and I must say that it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, I felt a sense of warm hospitality and exceptional service. What truly made my stay special, however, was the thoughtful and personal touch from the hotel manager. Upon checking in, I was delighted to receive a personalized note from the manager at the reception desk, welcoming me to the hotel and making me feel like a valued guest. It was a lovely surprise and set a positive tone for my stay. The hotel itself is comfortable and well-appointed, with clean and spacious rooms, delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful, always eager to assist with any request or query. Overall, I would highly recommend the Southern Sun Ridgeway Lusaka to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay in Lusaka. The combination of excellent service, comfortable accommodation, and personal touches like the note from the hotel manager made my stay truly unforgettable. Pros: The hotel has a great location, close to the city center and major attractions. The staff are friendly and welcoming, with a particular mention to the reception team who made me feel at home with a personalized note from the hotel manager. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-appointed, with comfortable beds and modern amenities. The food at the hotel restaurant is delicious, with a good selection of local and international dishes. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere, with a nice pool area and outdoor seating.

Cons: The hotel's Wi-Fi connection can be a bit slow and unreliable at times. The rooms could benefit from a bit more soundproofing, as some noise from the hallway and surrounding rooms can be heard. The hotel's gym and fitness facilities are a bit limited, with only a few machines and no free weights.

This is a great hotel with wonderful staff. The business centre was a real bonus as I had stuff to do and they helped me considerably. The menu was good and the portions very generous. The evening buffets were good value and the real crocodiles (small ones) in the pond a genuine surprise, but what was really lovely was sitting with a coffee over breakfast watching the birds making their nests.

Lusaka is very spread out. It felt like a series of roundabouts. There isn't a convenience store nearby so bring what you need with you or jump into a helpful cab (reception can organise for you, if you are not driving) and they will take you to the nearest mall.

This is a beautiful historic hotel located in the heart of Lusaka. The locals shared with me that this hotel had been part of many special occasions for decades. It has had a very nice modern update with perfect decor and it has very lush landscaping with a really nice terrace for meals. I enjoyed watching the birds and the scenic pond every morning. The food was delicious and well priced. The pool is lovely and private. The staff was very helpful and kind. I would definitely recommend it to others and stay there again myself. I was thankful for air-conditioning and power even though the area has had a lot of trouble with power.

This was my fourth stay at the Southern Sun Ridgeway and it is consistently excellent. Among Lusaka's centrally located international-class hotels, I find the Ridgeway offers by far the best value for money. Sightly less luxurious than those competitors, its rates are unbeatable, the rooms and beds comfortable and the staff are consistently friendly and capable.

Some secondary equipment is a bit worn: aircon units, gym. The breakfast buffet is good but would benefit from more variety, especially over longer stays.

I've stayed here many times, and it looks like the rooms have been upgraded a bit - very comfortable. The eating space around the pool with the baby crocs is as fun as ever, although the plants for the weaver birds were cut. Hope they grow back and that the birds return!

Honestly, the food was very uneven, and occasionally not edible. Not sure why this has happened but I hope Southern Sun will look into this. I remember the breakfast as being quite delicious and now it is so so. Some of the items from the menu were just plain bad. The kitchen needs some serious attention. Also, the service is very uneven, just depends on the personality of the server.

An excellent hotel with nice and clean rooms and friendly staff and peaceful location with walking distance from The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and National Museum. They have a lovely pond with baby crocodiles and Musuku restaurant with excellent vegetarian friendly food. They also served us an amazing breakfast, one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever enjoyed, if not the best.

We ordered shuttle from the airport but they never came and we were looking them for an hour or so. However, we were offered a compensation so all good. I can really recommend this hotel, it's an excellent one!

The location for my business was helpful and everything near by for my meetings.The room was adequate and for the needs. The staff in the restaurant in particular NChimunya and the 2 staff called Memory were very helpful cheerful and chatty clearly care about what they do and demonstrated good service and relationship skills.. Even the wider staff were helpful with a smile. The food was of a good standard and value for money. Having an ATM on site was very useful as well. The hotel from the airport was nit too far. The crocodiles tiny ones were a source of interest.

I needed to use the business facility and whilst the lady was very helpful when I tried to stay and do some work the general noise of others was loud and the room wasn't suitably planned for laptop privacy and due to the noise I couldnt make calls so I promptly left. Checking in was fine however I had to extend my stay and that became a challenge ans the lady who served me to recheck in didnt seem very helpful and was quite off in attitude which was disappointing..

Attitude and service of staff in the bar. Was kept waiting for 45 mins after being given menu, despite someone being at the bar chatting with other staff. When asked for help from waiter, they said they not responsible and would call someone and disappeared for 20 mins. When we were finally served, staff hang around the till talking loudly. It was not a good experience at all. Staff in the main dining area were more efficient and pleasant.

The staff were all friendly and respectful. The two ladies Regina Chileshe & Mary Phiri kept the ladies’ toilets near the reception very clean, very courteous ladies. Mrs Liseli was friendly and helpful. The staff in the restaurant were superb. Overall, staff were friendly. Thank you for your hospitality and hope to come back soon. Brenda M Dixon
