Nice service, good and clean hotel. Very easy to stay with little children, easy parking. Massive balcony and a view on cricket practice. Good breakfast but I’m gutted that the omelette station was closed and very little fresh fruit. Everyone was hunting for melons when they were brought out.

The dinner in the restaurant was not good. The kids enjoyed their free cookie with milk. My cottage pie was ok, but nothing special. My husband’s chicken burger was the worst he has ever tried in his life. The cocktails were ridiculous - no classic choices on the menu like negroni etc, barely any alcohol used. Mine tasted like juice, not alcoholic cocktail. If I would go to the hotel again, I’d book a restaurant somewhere else no matter how exhausted we are.

Hotel was in a good location for us, we were able to travel next morning to catch the red funnel ferry from Southampton very easily from here. The room was very nice, breakfast was lovely it had everything you would want ,I liked that you got greeted at breakfast with a fresh pot of coffee or tea brought to the table rather than self serve awful coffee. Check in and out was of no problems. Lovely view of the cricket pitch whilst having breakfast or an evening meal!

I do wish hotels would think of ladies that do make up and hair, some of us would like a mirror positioned at a sit down level, a dressing table ! The evening meal was very nice but the dessert was extremely small for the price! , the apple sponge was a strange texture and such a small scoop of icecream on a massive plate, not worth the money! However these things are minor and did not spoil our stay.

I travelled down from the west coast of Scotland, 11hrs on 4 trains and 3taxis so was absolutely exhausted when I arrived . Lucia on reception was so kind and helpful, she also arranged a late check out for me the following day as I was boarding a cruise at 1.30. This meant after a fabulous nights sleep and a long lie in I was able to leave feeling relaxed and well rested . During my stay Lucia message a couple of times to see if I was ok and if there was anything else I needed, which I appreciated. I cruise regularly from Southampton and over last 4years this hotel has always been the one I used because I know I will get outstanding service. Thank you

Almost everything about the hotel is excellent. The staff are always first class and Beefy’s restaurant serves very good food. My crispy beef on this visit was superb. We were served by Lydia in the restaurant, who was outstanding and a credit to the hotel. She was well-informed, polite and seemed genuinely interested. Her knowledge of the menu and bar menu was excellent and she even made a point of checking with the kitchen on one minor aspect of the food that we queried.

We usually have a room overlooking the cricket ground because we stay for the cricket, but this visit was just an overnight stop en route to the Isle of Wight, so we had one of the standard rooms. Maybe being at the back of the hotel is colder, but with the air con set at such a low level, we found it impossible to get warm, even on an August day where the outside daytime temperature was 24c. It’s a mistake that so many hotels make. The air con does not need to be set at 18c to counter the occasional warm summer’s day in the U.K….

Very comfortable room and bed. Shower was fine, but not exceptional. A public event was being held at the venue on the night we were there; we had been allocated a room far away from the function, and did not hear a thing - thank you! Breakfast in Beefy's was excellent; very good choice of cooked/continental options; staff were very polite and helpful.

Lighting in room could have been better, although I appreciate this was probably due to a focus on 'mood' lighting rather than brighter lights for practicality. One of the light units did not seem to work, and electrical connection for the kettle was a bit unreliable.

We enjoyed your breakfast and the staff who looked after us from the 25 to the 28. December 2024. I would like to commend the lady who supervised your breakfast team . The staff were so good and made sure items and seating area were on top top. I say keep it up we will come back again.

Our room had no bath tub for I had children and considering I booked so early for Christmas holiday but was never given an appropriate room. The room we had 128 it was too dusty and the wardrobe there was a lot of fluff which made my kids sneeze,I had to wipe inside and outside for dust. Also spider web on the room corners. I took pictures for your attention. Otherwise our stay was good , location good, facilities good.

The room was very well appointed and clean. Evening meal in the restaurant was very good. Particularly pleased with Old Speckled Hen on tap. Staff very courteous and helpful, even following my stay when they kindly forwarded my receipt. A staff member I spoke to in the restaurant advised that the restaurant / hotel is due for refurbishment which was a surprise as it was in no way dated or tatty.

The room was cold on arrival but that was easily rectified by turning up the heat. The breakfast - I opted for cooked - was disappointing. Had I stayed an extra night, I would have opted for cereal or fruit.

The hotel is very good

I ordered cheese and biscuits as room service for £12.00. What came was about £1.00 worth of cheese. I sent a picture to reception who promptly got back to me and told me they had sent it to the restaurant manager and he would contact me. He did not contact me. On check out I noticed the amount has been removed from my bill. This is not what I wanted I wanted to speak to someone so this does not happen again but no, the easy route is to take it off my bill and keep charging other people this Rip off amount.... poor customer service from-the restaurant manager.

Liked that it was convenient as the wedding reception was at this hotel. The staff were really helpful and very professional which was great. And the kind u would expect from Hilton hotel.

I was surprised that this Hilton in the UK didn't have a fridge. Because my daughter has allergy to nuts she only drinks soya milk and I would have loved to have this conveniently available in the fridge for her. Hilton Australia and in Fiji have mini fridges but this one didn't and I was surprised for the amount u would pay for the rooms over 3 nights and we paid for 2 rooms .

The room was lovely and spacious with a lovely view from the balcony. The king sized bed was comfortable and very clean. The bathroom was was very clean with a decent sized shower and with the lovely shower gel, soap. Hair products. I couldn’t have asked for a better en suite room. The breakfast was brilliant with plenty of choices. The dining room was very clean and the tables were spaced out evenly. The young waitress was very polite and friendly

I don’t think I could have expected anything better. It reached all my expectations.
