The property was very good it seemed as though it was having extensive renovation work, the room we stayed in was very large , comfortable and spotlessly clean . The gardens and lake area were really lovely and we had a dink at the bar where the staff were very polite and helpful. We ate breakfast in the dining room and there was a very good selection of quality products we really enjoyed it .

The only thing we didn’t like was that the room was too warm for us throughout the night. We turned down the thermostat on the radiator and opened a window as far as we could but found it still warm . I think summer weight duvets should be put on the beds and the heating turned down a little as the weather has been sunny fir a few weeks now .

The location is just off the M27, therefore convenient for travelling east or west, or for catching a ferry from Southampton. It is set back from the main road so there are no disturbances. There's a lovely lake to the rear which is visible from the lovely dining room and bar.. When warm enough, there are ample tables outside to overlook the lawn and lake. Our room was tastefully furnished with an excellent ensuite bath and shower. The queen bed had crisp, white bed linen and was extremely comfortable. (Perfect for my bad back!) Other facilities include a pool, spa, sauna, steam room, and a small gym. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and we will definitely be returning for more than one night.

Hard fried eggs - but no big deal - these were replenished.

We booked in for a 1 night stay because of it's close proximity to Southampton docks, as we were booked on a cruise the following day. It's location and surroundings were ideal for us and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Definitely one I would consider using again.

Breakfast was a little chaotic, but this was due to a large marriage retreat group booked in at the same time. It would also have been nice to have had bar snacks rather than having to book a full restaurant meal as we ended up driving to a local pub for an evening meal.

This is the first time I have stayed since the refurb. I had stayed many times over several years before closure. It has been very well upgraded, rooms and beds are very comfortable and the communal areas and gardens very well presented

I was amazed to be charged £10 additional charge for a check in around 1.30 pm (3pm published check in) when the room was ready. This is negligible to both myself and the hotel and seemed an unnecessary approach which might affect my decision to stay again despite everything else at the hotel being very good

This is a fabulous hotel set in lovely grounds. The terrace is large and looks out over the lakes. The spa is really nice and has a lovely warm pool, hot tub, steam room and sauna. The bar area is lovely, old panelled walls and has a wonderful ceiling. A nice airy restaurant and the breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The rooms have nice firm beds, feather pillows are very clean and airy. The bathrooms have nice toiletries and big fluffy towels. .

The only thing that was a bit annoying was on the info sheet in the room it said the spa was open till 8pm on Sunday. It actually closed at 6pm. But that is a minor issue that can be fixed easily.

Full of character; the young lady who checked us in was really friendly and helpful, as were all the staff we encountered. Fantastic value for money. Room was well equipped. Bed was comfy. We would love to come back.

the room was very hot - there was even a portable fan in the room in October so I suspect this is an ongoing issue. We mentioned it on leaving and the staff were very helpful and keen to see if they could improve it. They offered us another room for next time if we preferred and to show us it today but we didn't have time. Literally everything else was wonderful and we loved our stay.

Food was amazing , rooms very big and roomy and comfortable .. even though only 2 degrees outside the rooms were always warm even with window open for fresh air all night. The building had so much charm and character , the pool and spa were very nice and steam rooms very hot ... great hearing stories of the history of the place and stories that added to an amazing stay ...Staff were all very helpful and always greeted with a hello and smile ...dining rooms were set up so well with big comfortable chairs loved our stay wished was longer

On arrival we were able to leave the car in the car park even though we were too early to check in. We were there to watch one of the Hundred cricket matches so left straightaway to walk to the ground. When we returned at around 10 pm we checked in to our room on the second floor but were disappointed to find that the lift wasn't working. However the room was a good size and was very comfortable. There was a very good breakfast in the morning. At all times the staff were friendly and attentive and we enjoyed our stay

The lift wasn't working and the spa was being refurbished. However the pool was available for use be we were not informed of this until we checked in.

Booked Botleigh Grange for an overnight stay before boarding our cruise ship the next day. It was more relaxed to travel down to Southampton the day before and the hotel is ideally situated about 25 mins to the docks. The hotel is in very nice grounds set back from the road and there is lots of safe parking. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was buffet style with a good choice of food. After checking out of our room we were able to make use of the lounge and grounds before leaving for our check in time at the docks. We were very impressed with the hotel and will book again to stay overnight next year for our next cruise.

Nothing at all

Hotel was convenient to walk to The Rose Bowl, about 35 minutes. Room we had was a lovely size and looked as if it had been freshly refurbished as well as the bathroom. Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly, helpful and polite. Would definitely stay there again if we need to.

Slight delay with a queue for checking in, at 3.00pm, due to the number of people staying there for the cricket match. Some people had to wait for their room to be made available. We were lucky, ours was ready. Letter under door with apologies for delay when checking in, but not a problem really for us.
