Very friendly and helpful staff, the bed was extremely comfortable (always a plus!!), the room was spotlessly clean and breakfast was really good (scrambled eggs made to order so they weren't like rubber!). Perhaps not as luxurious now as the hotel would like, but we stayed in a Premier Inn in Southampton a few weeks ago for a concert that was only £20 cheaper and was like Faulty Towers so I'll take the MacDonald Botley Park any day of the week!

The room was a little bit dated and the bathroom needed a little freshen up (hot tap on the sink leaked a little when turned on, some mould on the tiles). Nothing major though.

This is a good hotel which I have stayed at before. There is a little bit of a lottery with the rooms, with some being noisier than others, but the one I got this time was very quiet and I slept well. The room was also very clean and well appointed. The hotel itself is good with leisure facilities, a restaurant and a bar. I must mention that the staff were exceptionally polite and welcoming. I can't remember names, but there was a mature gentleman on reception on check in who was very pleasant and efficient, and a blonde haired ( I think) lady on check out who was also pleasant and cheerful.

Unless there is an offer, the hotel is a little pricey. Breakfast is also ridiculously expensive if you haven't booked it.

Very nice place in a good location. When we stayed several ships were in port and a large number of people were staying either coming from or going to the ships. Some of these showed little or no regard to the staff or for the others in the hotel. I am pleased to say that the staff handled the situations very well. Breakfast was exceptional. Restauant was good on our first night but for the remainder we chose a diffent local pub each night plenty to choose from in the area. The car park is very large and in my opinion safe. Thanks to all the staff.

Check in staff were superb. Very friendly and helpful. Room was big, comfortable, well equipped and clean. Dinner in restaurant was great, really tasty fish and chips. Good kids meal. Pool was nice and a bonus to our stay. Overall hotel was fabulous and we would stay again if in the area.

Steps into pool were very slippery. Are curved rather than normal steps. I fell getting in the first time. Uninjured but scary! Breakfast was disappointing. Ours was included but if I had paid the going rate I would have been cross. Hot breakfast options were very dry. Eggs rubbery. Perhaps it was bad timing on our part!

Greeting on arrival was amazing, super friendly and polite, couldn’t do enough for me. I had room service dinner which was delicious and the bed and bedroom was comfortable with a generous shower and bath.

Tv didn’t initially work, it was changed swiftly, however seems to be a common problem, apparently the 3rd one that day! When I tried to find the swimming pool in the morning, it was not clear where it was or how to use my room key to enter. No one on the leisure reception so had to return to normal reception where I then waited 10 minutes for someone to come.

Location was good, beds very comfy, large rooms fitting 2 adults and 3 young children comfortably in, the pool was lovely and warm with good times on when kids can use it and also they left our little girl a peppa pig activity pack which was a lovely touch especially as we planned to go Peppa pig world whilst on our trip south seeing family and friends :)

The rooms and bathrooms are very dated and in need of some tlc, rooms could also do with a fridge as had to leave fresh milk and picnic food behind the reception desk which wasn’t ideal! Also tea/coffee facilities in the room weren’t great and had to ask numerous of times for top ups :(

From the booking ,arrival ,reception area,waitress,waitors,spar was absolutely brilliant. Choe,jake debbie james Eva. I would like to name everyone but I cannot member the names of every person that I met. On the 24 we learned and I noticed that there was not enough staff and everyone in the resturant worked extremely hard to try and give everyone the best experience that they could despite the ciircumstances. My husband and I enjoyed our dinners. People were complaining and it was sad because they were trying there best. They worked as a team in the resturant that day The directors need to recognise what a wonderful team that they have. That is very dedicated to providing a brilliant service. These individuals need to be respected and given a pay rise for the hard work that they do

There was nothing that i did not like. My husband and I felt sad to leave .we left relaxed We enjoyed the spar it was lovely We enjoyed everything. Good job to all the staff at the hotel You are all doing a fantastic job

Room was comfortable and we all slept well. Plenty of space in the suite. Was able to charge my car.

The children's meal my daughter had wasn't really suitable for her. The mash had onion in it and the jus was quite salty which she didnt like. It was like a scaled down adults meal however she didnt enjoy it. Happy i could charge my car however struggled with not enough space for someone with additional access needs. This isn't an issue specific to the hotel as accessible electric charging spaces are rare whenever I use public charging.

Really welcoming at the desk. Beautiful reception. The room was a reasonable size with a huge bed ,which was really comfy. Nice size bathroom with bath and shower. I used the spa facilities and had a massage while there. Breakfast was buffet style which was great with a great selection of foods. I ate in the restaurant in the evening which was really good, at a reasonable price.

Some long waits at the bar as the coffee machine is not in the bar and the bar staff were delivering drinks to the restaurant table on the evening

The hotel has such a beautiful setting. I was able to meet up there with my family, all of whom live in the Southampton area. We had afternoon tea one day and dinner another day with the family. My sister was in a wheelchair and the staff were very helpful. We had breakfast every day for five days. All the food was very good. Our room had a luxury retro feel. It had a lovely view of the grounds and was relaxing in the easy chairs. The bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately the spa was closed for renovation.
