Very friendly and helpful staff, the bed was extremely comfortable (always a plus!!), the room was spotlessly clean and breakfast was really good (scrambled eggs made to order so they weren't like rubber!). Perhaps not as luxurious now as the hotel would like, but we stayed in a Premier Inn in Southampton a few weeks ago for a concert that was only £20 cheaper and was like Faulty Towers so I'll take the MacDonald Botley Park any day of the week!

The room was a little bit dated and the bathroom needed a little freshen up (hot tap on the sink leaked a little when turned on, some mould on the tiles). Nothing major though.

This is a good hotel which I have stayed at before. There is a little bit of a lottery with the rooms, with some being noisier than others, but the one I got this time was very quiet and I slept well. The room was also very clean and well appointed. The hotel itself is good with leisure facilities, a restaurant and a bar. I must mention that the staff were exceptionally polite and welcoming. I can't remember names, but there was a mature gentleman on reception on check in who was very pleasant and efficient, and a blonde haired ( I think) lady on check out who was also pleasant and cheerful.

Unless there is an offer, the hotel is a little pricey. Breakfast is also ridiculously expensive if you haven't booked it.

Check in staff were superb. Very friendly and helpful. Room was big, comfortable, well equipped and clean. Dinner in restaurant was great, really tasty fish and chips. Good kids meal. Pool was nice and a bonus to our stay. Overall hotel was fabulous and we would stay again if in the area.

Steps into pool were very slippery. Are curved rather than normal steps. I fell getting in the first time. Uninjured but scary! Breakfast was disappointing. Ours was included but if I had paid the going rate I would have been cross. Hot breakfast options were very dry. Eggs rubbery. Perhaps it was bad timing on our part!

Location was good, beds very comfy, large rooms fitting 2 adults and 3 young children comfortably in, the pool was lovely and warm with good times on when kids can use it and also they left our little girl a peppa pig activity pack which was a lovely touch especially as we planned to go Peppa pig world whilst on our trip south seeing family and friends :)

The rooms and bathrooms are very dated and in need of some tlc, rooms could also do with a fridge as had to leave fresh milk and picnic food behind the reception desk which wasn’t ideal! Also tea/coffee facilities in the room weren’t great and had to ask numerous of times for top ups :(

From the booking ,arrival ,reception area,waitress,waitors,spar was absolutely brilliant. Choe,jake debbie james Eva. I would like to name everyone but I cannot member the names of every person that I met. On the 24 we learned and I noticed that there was not enough staff and everyone in the resturant worked extremely hard to try and give everyone the best experience that they could despite the ciircumstances. My husband and I enjoyed our dinners. People were complaining and it was sad because they were trying there best. They worked as a team in the resturant that day The directors need to recognise what a wonderful team that they have. That is very dedicated to providing a brilliant service. These individuals need to be respected and given a pay rise for the hard work that they do

There was nothing that i did not like. My husband and I felt sad to leave .we left relaxed We enjoyed the spar it was lovely We enjoyed everything. Good job to all the staff at the hotel You are all doing a fantastic job

The hotel has such a beautiful setting. I was able to meet up there with my family, all of whom live in the Southampton area. We had afternoon tea one day and dinner another day with the family. My sister was in a wheelchair and the staff were very helpful. We had breakfast every day for five days. All the food was very good. Our room had a luxury retro feel. It had a lovely view of the grounds and was relaxing in the easy chairs. The bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay.

Unfortunately the spa was closed for renovation.

A little out of the way but easy to get to and beautiful grounds. Perfect place for a wedding reception. Bathroom was outdated but perfect. Loved the floor tiles. Bedroom could have been organised better, wouldn't take much to have everything in a more relevant, efficient place. Tea and coffee was awkward to use, having been put in a low cupboard. Selection of coffee could gave been better, would have liked a hot chocolate too. Biscuits good quality but should double the amount. And fridge, if you had stocked water and a couple of beers, I would have paid for them. Curtain was not hung properly, needs fixing. Spa not easy to find, poolside disappointing, could do with a makeover. Very welcoming staff and room was spotlessly clean.

We had a lovely nights sleep, rooms very comfortable. We had an evening meal which was really nice too. We also had to wait around for a little while in the morning after checking out as we were waiting to go on a cruise. The hotel kept free hot tea and coffee running which was really good of them.

The rooms were a little dated, in need of a new bathroom and decor. Also some of the bar staff didn’t have a sense of humour but most were very friendly. The price off the room rate was quite pricey and the food was too (but tasty).

The room was lovely and the bathroom! Both were spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. The swimming pool was lovely and the staff were very polite, and happy to help.

The spa treatments are way too expensive, and not much variety. There also is not much variety at breakfast either, i think a few more options would be ideal considering the price yet what was available was delicious! I didn't like the tray charge for room service on top of room service charge which is already expensive! The ironing board was also broken in the room but apart from these minor things everything was lovely.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Comfortable room, very comfy bed. Enjoyed my time at the hotel. Other facilities great too unfortunately didn't have time to use them all

Room was very comfortable, however this is the 21st Century, I needed plugs near bed or usb/usb-c connectors. Wifi in the room was flakey which was annoying. If you want to switch, it's the best place. Pool timings close 8.30pm, sorry this is too short especially working all day, wanted to swim or sit in sauna after 9pm.
