We had an excellent meal in the parsons collar, and only had the continental breakfast that was included in the room price, i plentiful and of good quality, cereal, yogurts juices on the buffet, pastries and toast, tea or coffee served to the table. We only stayed one night, so not able to take advantage of the free bike hire, but did have a nice woodland walk from behind the hotel into the village, maps avail in reception. Rooms were modern and clean, we dida book a balcony room, but our room did not have one, but did not distract from the stay. Our room did not have a bath, but the shower was powerful and warm, and keep an even temperature as selected. We stayed in the "Lodge" side of the hotel and eat in the ajoining hotel owed pub, there is a "posher" restaurant and other facilities in the main hotel. I would stay again.

The parking was free at the weekend we stayed, but I think you have to pay during the week. Unfortunately, there were some white marks on the corridor carpets outside the rooms, the carpet looked new but the stains did spoil the overall appearance, but did not effect our stay and would not put us of staying again. Not sure if a professional clear could remove these.

Quick check in. Room provided as requested - quiet - away form stairs and lift. Breakfast provided on site of reception. The place was very clean and immaculate.

The pub for meal and breakfast had TVs on in every area showing old sports programmes and news. We "couldn't get away from this" and its overpowering. The breakfast was continental but okay. In the rooms there is very cheap liquid soap provided in the shower container only which meant when washing your hands you had to walk into the shower base to use this very cheap commercial cleaning product rather than a standard soap one. Most hotels provide quality liquid soap containers in showers and another one on the sink basin.

It was a little bit different from your average roadside motels. Extremely quiet rooms. Interior decor was tastefully done. The shower was fabulous. The beds were very comfortable and the sheets very soft(I’m a fan of soft sheets 🤪) Excellent location to visit Portsmouth and Southampton. There is a Lidl right across the road which is very handy. I booked for an inclusive breakfast. Turned out this was a Continental breakfast and, if you wanted a cooked breakfast, it would cost more. I wouldn’t say it was full continental because the were no cold meats or buffet. However, it consisted of cereal, toast, croissants and fruit so we were happy with that.

The carpet in the hallway needs a good clean because it has some stains on it and a bit of the carpet in our room had a bad stain on it. I had booked a twin room and when we arrived we were given a room with a small double bed. I spoke to someone on reception who asked if I would be happy with her making up the sofa bed into a bed but this would have taken up most of the floor space. I explained that I had booked two single beds and had expected that so was then given a change of room. I don’t think I should have had to stand my ground before being offered what I had originally booked but it worked out in the end and we were very happy with our accommodation. Would definitely book again.

Cleanliness, accessibility and staff were all very good. Had a meal in the Parsons Collar which was fine for a "pub" style meal. Overall a good stay and served its purpose well. Rooms were lovely and spacious, comfortable and very quiet, handy position for the Motorway to get to Southampton, Portsmouth and the New Forest, with Salisbury and Winchester nearby- certainly use it as a Base sometime soon

Only a couple of niggling things. On the first day, there seemed to be limited hot water for shaving, but plenty for the shower. Air Conditioning was good, once I got the hang of it, instructions would be good. Also trying to get out of the gate the first morning was a bit of a mission and a queue built up to leave, but nothing to spoil the stay.

The room was way bigger than I'd expected and the a/c was very welcome at the tail end of the latest heatwave. Bed was comfy and the desk area useful and spacious. One major surprise was the pub/restaurant next door; it was very good. I get so annoyed at the appalling quality of the chains like Table Table, Beefeater and Harvester with their high priced, moderate quality food offering and a bar full of pretend lagers like Madri (aka Carling Red). The Parson's Collar had several real ales in good condition, despite them making the long trek from Lancashire. There were also different craft beers too, The menu was relatively short, but my food was good. A true bonus from a smart modern building.

The location is a little out of town for my normal preferences, but that was ok as a one-nighter

Check-in was very simple. The staff were very approachable, helpful and clear with information requested. I loved the extra information provided on the TV screen in my room. The room was very clean and spacious. The clever use of space under the bed to put cases in was also impressive. Nice big shower, and good sized bathroom. Integrated mirror in desk which was great for drying my hair (so many hotels do not have power points by mirrors so you end up drying/styling your hair without a mirror).

Personal preference, the bed was a little too firm for me, but you cant please everyone.

Location to Whitley shops and family. The maintenance team were super friendly and very, very helpful when I had a problem with a damaged suitcase. I really appreciated their help. The pub next door with nice beer garden and good menu was handy also. Shower was good, very powerful.

The mattress on the sofa bed was really uncomfortable. Please add a mattress topper. I don’t recommend teens or adults sleeping on it without speaking to the hotel first.

The rooms are modern, spotless, and really well designed – everything felt fresh. The beds are very comfortable, I was expecting to hear foot traffic being so close to the lift and above the bar but it was very quiet. Check-in was smooth. The location is great – quiet and peaceful, but still close to motorway access.

I didn't see any options for room service. I'm not sure if it was a thing. Being so close to the Pub, it would have been ideal. Having said that I would stay again.

We loved walking shower .beds were comfortable .excellent seating in the room. There is plenty of room to hang clothes. Room had tea+coffee, hairdryer, ironing board, and iron. restaurant collars pollar was next door, excellent service and excellent food. advised to book as it does get busy at the weekend. Would definitely recommend staying.

Just to say. Lightning in the room was not very good/bright. Dressing table light was very poor, especially for us women trying to put makeup on,making it hard to see. And maybe put mat in shower or handle as it was slippery.

I LIKED THE DECOR AND GENERAL DESIGN OF THE BUILDING AND THE BEDROOMS. I HAD NOT BOOKED FOR BREAKFAST BUT THE SERVICE WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT.AND THE FOOD WAS GOOD.

SEEMED TO BE LESS ATTRACTIVELY FURNISHED THAN ON EARLIER VISITS TO THE LODGE. IT HAD LESS FURNITURE THAN PREVIOUS ROOMS WE HAD EXPERIENCED AND THE FURNITURE WAS DULL - NO PERZAZ! . PREVIOUS ROOMS HAD A LOT OF BRIGHT YELLOW AND WHITE. AND LOOKED CLEANER AND FRESHER. THE WALL NEXT TO THE BED AND THE BATHROOM NEEDED CLEANING AND REDECORATING. THERE WERE LOTS OF DIRTY MARKS ON THE WALL. FOR THE PRICE -£150 PER NIGHT FOR THE ROOM ONLY, I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THE ROOM TO BE IN TIP TOP CONDITION.BUT IT LOOKED LIKE SOME ODD, LEFT OVER BITS OF FURNITURE WERE LEFT IN THERE.
