Lovely room, very clean and spacious. Friendly staff on check in and check out. Nice extras like chilled water and milk stations on each floor for drinks. Good supply of drinks in room, White Company Toiletries. Very close to leisure park with restaurants and shops, lots of parking.

Price a little on high side for a night, but location for where we needed to be was excellent.

All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel is a classic style with a modern twist. We liked the bar and restaurant. Great location 20 mins from Gunwharf Quays. Our room was comfortable and cosy, we loved the gowns and slippers :)

The only thing that was a little disappointing was the adult swim times, as children’s times were 7-11am and 3-7pm, which are the only times we would have swam/relaxed by the pool but it was full of children in and out of the pool and sauna room. We booked the hotel for the pool so it was a shame we didn’t get to use it. Children swim times should be revised

The bed was really comfy and I slept VERY WELL. The staff were extremely polite and very helpful. Lovely and quiet and we felt very relaxed using the spa and pool facilites.

Our room was a little tired and the door to the fridge was about to fall off. A lot of mould around the sink. Curtain rings missing on curtains. However, my daughters room was nothing like this and had been freshly painted and the bathroom was clean and fresh. The above are not a critismism at all but more to help the staff and hotel to give the rooms which are 'tired', a little bit of TLC. Considering the pool area has just been renovated, it is a shame there aren't more loungers and seating for guests around the pool area. I think more could be done with the spectators area, as it is a very big space, which could be opened up to accomodate maybe more loungers or a darkened relaxation area with simliar music to the spa changing rooms.

The hotel was clean and tidy, the downstairs decor, was lovely & very up to date. Upstairs less so, more dated. The dining area was lovely. And all staff we encountered were exceptionally polite.

We were not overly impressed with the quality of breakfast, which was only just warm. At the 8am table reservation. And the bread rolls supplied with breakfast were extremely stale. Everything else was of good quality but not hot. We also were surprised to find , after booking, that we had to pay £15 each for the use of the pool.

It was a lovely weekend treat for a reasonable price. The breakfast was really nice and the pool looks so much better now it has been fixed up and refurbished. The room was spacious and clean.

The spa area and pool was overly busy and that meant we had to join a waiting list to use the pool etc, not great for a family with kids who may not want to wait. It is understandable they have a capacity they need to stick to but some guests were hogging the pool area for hours without leaving, there should be a limit when in peak times to make it fair for all guests.

The hotel is very welcoming for families while still having the feel of an adult focused hotel. The ambience music conveys calm throughout. The spa facilities are very good. Sauna, steam room and pool had temperature spot on, and changing facilities were also very good. We had a very relaxing stay.

The breakfast was good but missing cheese options. Restaurant service on a Friday night was slow but probably because they were full in a half-term holiday. It did improve remaining days, so i believe to be exception.

The food is really good so the restaurant gets very busy. The staff do their best, but they may need help as I had to wait close to 2 hours to eat. I almost said give me my money I will go to bed.

The swimming hours should be given to families once they arrive. So they are informed and can plan accordingly. The information is most likely in the pages in the rooms. Now, should I read it, yes, but really, who does? It a break or holiday:-) it not a deal breaker, but I would just like to know. I may case my little ones could not swim because I got the time wrong. The air conditioning in our room was not cool in the afternoon. It was a night. I can only assume it has something to do with energy saving, but when it is hot and the windows can't be open much. You need to let the air-conditioning do it job.

We regularly visit the Solent hotel. The pool area and spa is a firm favourite of ours as a family. The local area has close restaurants and cinema with shops as well.

We booked an afternoon tea and they could not find our booking. When they did seat us they brought out the wrong food, however they did offer for us to have it for free due to the inconvenience so we gratefully accepted. The restaurant staff are slow and the restaurant was cold and draughty. The jacuzzi was not in operation as it was being refurbished so there were temp ones outside, personally we didn’t want to walk out in the cold to use these and they were also hogged by the same group of people the whole time so we stayed in the pool area. The afternoon tea in the restaurant was the wrong order although this was rectified by the staff.

everything! room was lovely, great little additions! welcome pack for our 2 year old, water and milk at the end of each hallway 24/7, spa was lovely, breakfast was a good 7/10. The milk at the end of the hallway though wasn't available the last 24 hours we were there, i tried at 1pm, empty, 10pm, empty, 1am, empty and again before checkout, empty, but the idea was good. The parsons collar was pretty awful good to be fair, rubbish menu choice really, nothing that great for kids ages 1-4, parsons collar was 4/10...but the fyr restaurant was lovely, 7/10, robes were so soft, white company product in the room which is always nice

The room we upgraded to was lovely. Our original room was a bit dated (despite being mentioned as being 'refurbished'). The facilities and staff are always amazing (we have now stayed multiple times, and come back for this very reason).

Our original room was a bit dated and had a distinct smell. In our upgraded room the air-conditioning appeared to be broken so, in this hot weather we all had a very bad sleep, due to the temperature of the room. Our kids were also really looking forward to the fire-pit and roasting marshmallows, but this facility was not available during our stay and, when we asked a staff member if it was possible to do this, we were told that it wasn't possible, due to supervision being required (much to the disappointment of our children).
