The view of the roundabout the hotel was named after was indeed spectacular. There is no doubt it would take any roundaboutist's breath away. The hotel definitely has a soul. With its classic Shakespearean black and white structure it almost made me feel like I was a knight travelling through on important business and not just a poor lad attending a leaving do and about to experience the second stage of regret after being peer pressured into eating a lamb fal in an Indian restaurant.While I cannot comment on the comfort of the bed as I slept outside my room on the carpet after loosing my key card; I can confidently say that the softness of the carpet was excellent with just enough heat to keep a roaming knight happy and cosy.The fact that I was able to have a good night sleep on the corridor (thinking that I lost the key card) without being harassed gave me such an immense sense of freedom an American person could only achieve by owning a couple of semi-automatic rifles. Jokes apart, I'd definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to everyone who doesn't think that having a fountain at the reception is essential. By the way I found my key card on the floor just as I was about to go to the reception to get a new one in the morning. This strange twist of fate rendered my act of having to go to the roundabout for a stealthy midnight poo slightly less adventurous/knightly and a tad more moronic.

a very warm welcome upon arrival, the effort to make us feel welcome was superb. we had to leave early before breakfast was ready for the 4 days we were there and the staff made us a takeaway breakfast which was left outside our rooms before we left. Kirsty as very professional and welcoming member of staff.

the location next to the roundabout was a bit noisy but only up until 10pm or so. one of our friends who had booked in for 5 days failed to come on the first 2 dys due to illness and we informed a member of staff that he still would be coming and to keep his room available. however this message was not conveyed to management or it was ignored by management, as when he arrived his room had been given to someone else. However Kirsty who was not the member of staff we had informed about our friend still coming to stay, stepped up to the plate and found alternative accommodation nearby and ensured we were very well looked after when we all had food that night and for the remainder of the stay.

Quirky old pub/hotel with lots of character. We had a lovely big bedroom at the back, away from the noise of the roundabout! The bed was enormous and comfy and the tea-making facilities were welcome. Lovely staff, and really appreciated that they let us check in early to go to the festival. The breakfast was fab.

The bathroom was a little cramped and the plumbing needed attention, but the shower worked fine and there was a bath too. There was a loud humming noise all night, like some kind of machine going on and off. It didn't bother me as I had ear plugs in, but it kept my partner awake! I'd definitely go back there though as it was great overall.

The Dinner and Breakfast I had were excellent, the service was excellent especially since the lady who booked me in, ran the bar, served by dinner was working alone and it was fairly busy. I thought her service was polite, friendly, helpful and efficient. The choice was very good and all of the food was excellent. In the morning I had a lovely breakfast and there were two friendly welcoming members of staff giving very good service. My room was adequate for my needs for one night, it was clean and tidy with the basics in place, a fan in the room would have been handy as my visit was during the heatwave. It is an older building with a lot of stairs to negotiate, there are no downstairs bedrooms, so not great for those who are less abled. But a reasonably priced and pleasant overnight stay.

There are a lot of stairs but it is an old building, some maintenance is needed in the bathroom of my room which was number 7 the loo roll holder needs fixing as it was hanging off the wall. A socket near the bed would be helpful as I have to sleep with a CPAP machine. I do carry my own extension lead thankfully. In the heatwave there was no movement of air in the room and a fan would have been helpful.

We had a terrific stay as a group of friends with a small dog. The roundabout is very dog friendly. There were always happy to cook a sausage for my dog. The roundabout is very well kept and our room was one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. We weee visiting Portsmouth and the Roundabout was a good location and value for money compared to staying in Portsmouth itself. The breakfast was very nice and the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. There were plenty of places to walk the dog and the area is very nice. Parking wasn’t a problem. I would definitely stay again.

The rooms as the front get noise from the road as they face the roundabout. That is to be expected given its location.

It's a friendly hotel where we've chosen to stay each time we visit relatives in Fareham. It's very comfortable and the staff are always keen to help. There's adequate parking on site in the evening. The food is very good and breakfast inclusive in the price. The food is always brought out on time.

The bathroom needs some attention to bring it up to the standard we've had on past stays. The taps are completely disconnected from the wash basin and the toilet seat is way too small and moves. The shower is unsafe because the water cannot easily be adjusted so you either freeze or get burned, unfortunately that meant that I didn't use it after my husband had difficulty with it. There is no grout between many of the floor tiles which is not hygienic.

We had our engagement party at the roundabout hotel and firstly, the space was perfect for it. Everyone had an amazing time, drinks were really reasonably priced and the staff were just fantastic! Laz, Lily and Chloe made the night that much better by being really friendly, kind, attentive and going above and beyond, helping with our decorations and setting up. The room we stayed in was perfect. Simple and very clean. The hotel itself is lovely, full of history and has a real old English vibe which my partner and I loved. 100% would recommend this space for a party.

This old quirky hotel offers practically everything you would want and need for a stop over. We were welcomed by a nice lady who gave us our keys and showed us to our rooms. Basic but clean and tidy. The beds were comfy and snug as the heating is on also it was really nice and warm. The breakfast is great! Good amount of food on the full English breakfast, pleasantly surprised that they had a vegetarian breakfast too, brilliant, can't complain at all. Tea and coffee refilled. The lady on shift "Laz" was super, she had a lovely attitude towards the customers and looked after us extremely well. I would definitely come back here.

I didn't come across anything I didn't like.

We had a family room which was a surprise but no problem. The linen was fresh and the room very clean and bright with good lights. We had to be aware of low, sloping ceilings (room was in the roof) but this was no problem. The breakfasts were goood, continental or cooked available. The hotel had a lovely fresh, clean smell and we had free parking on the premises.

A chair would have been handy in the bedroom as the mirror was very low. The milk pots made the hot drinks taste rather unpleasant so we didn't use the tea and coffee facilities in the room. There were no hooks in the bathroom for towels/gowns. Fruit and yogurt would improve the breakfast selection, especially if a continental breakfast is preferred.

Booking was easy and there was excellent communication with our request to get rooms together. The 'Roundabout Hotel' is not exactly a 5* venue, but it is very good and you get what you pay for. We had 3 rooms and all were more than acceptable. There is reasonable parking providing guests park properly (it desperately needs lines painted) and is first come first serve. There is limited parking close by. All the staff were extremely friendly and very helpful at all times. The restaurant was more than adequate and with 5 in our party everyone had different meals, the food was truly excellent. They also offer a 'Bar Menu' with a good selection. The Full English breakfast will set you up for the day, don't skip it!

Best described by saying the entire hotel is a little 'tired' and there are several signs of it being a well used establishment, but there was evidence of some rooms being decorated/upgraded. There was a temporary issue with the water supply during our stay, but we wern't affected. We stayed Friday & Saturday nights (party time!) and ALL guests need to be reminded to respect that other guests are also staying and probably trying to sleep! No space indicators in the car park.
