Absolute gem, We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night break, the staff were lovely and friendly and very helpful. I enjoyed the singing chef we could hear from our room near the kitchen. Our room was very nice with views over the little green opposite where we could see the ponies grazing and the bed was comfortable. We ate lunch on arrival and had dinner both evenings and it was all very nice, the breakfast was very good with lots of choices. There was a lovely garden outside which we enjoyed a beer or two in. In all we had a lovely relaxing break and are looking forward to our stay at one of their other pubs The New Forrest inn next month. I will be returning here though.

Excellent full English breakfast! Lovely pub interior and garden. Great location and easy parking. Friendly staff and simple but clean room. The room was small but fine for us for 1 night. Full length mirror in room and fan/heater in the cupboard if needed.

I liked the bed but it was too soft for my partner who reported feeling like he was sliding off the edge. The bed was also smaller than expected despite being advertised as a king-size. The bathroom was very small with a sliding door but again fine for 1 night. Bathroom had a mouldy edged window.

This place is brilliant. Coming from London, we were both so amazed out how peaceful this place is. The room was so comfortable. We both slept so well and neither of us sleeps that well in new places. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The food is delicious. The breakfast was amazing! Parking - easy. The donkeys, ponies and the rest of the wildlife around make the village green and surrounding roads and footpaths so idyllic. I have returned after quite a long drive (once we hit London traffic) and I still feel relaxed after just one night here. I wish we’d booked for longer now. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, bathroom and toiletries brilliant. Hairdryer plus tea and coffee and mineral water provided. Brilliant, we both slept like logs! When I go away, the first night, I usually find it difficult to sleep but here great. The soundproofing is impressive too. There was an event in the pub below and you couldn’t hear it. I did hear an owl hooting but in terms of noise that was it. In the morning the birds singing was very nice. Plus I love the dog friendly place (as I would love a dog but I have to make do with the kindness of strangers’ sharing their darling for a moment).

We had a friendly welcome and were shown our room straight away. Being an Inn they had evening meals which meant we didn't have to go out after a long journey. The food was fresh and delicious, as was the exceptional breakfast, cooked to order. The menus were extensive so something to please everyone. I was worried the Inn would be noisy in the evening but it was lovely and quiet, even with the windows open. It was right in the heart of the New Forest and we were visited by the horses and cows. Other attractions were close by.

Loved the staff. So helpful. Food and bar staff al fabulous.

Management(owners with directors of the pub chain) coming in, having a meal and appeared to arrogantly ( even if in jest- passive aggressive) berate their staff about various things. There is a time and place for this and its not so obviously in front of paying customers. Felt sorry for the staff as it looked a bit embarassing for them. Do better as the pub, food and staff are outstanding and they deserved better. Ruined our wedding anniversary trip to be seeing it.

We’ve loved this pub for years and had always dreamed of spending a night here. Our expectations were - if anything - exceeded. The room was lovely with one of the most comfortable beds I’ve experienced. My daughter was happy with the sofa bed too. And the food was outstanding. We had a lovely dinner, and then the freshly prepared breakfast was wonderful.

The pub itself was beautiful! Quirky-milk churn for bar seats. Staff were friendly, polite and genuine nice people. Food was delicious! Our room was pretty, bed was super comfy being 7 months pregnant the bed was dreamy! Our room wasnt quite ready at the time we arrived so the pub gave us a free drink. Didn't matter to us what time we checked in.

This was a last minute booking and we weren’t disappointed. Chris did a great job checking us in and at breakfast the next morning. The room was comfortable though the bathroom was on the small side. Breakfast was very tasty with good quality ingredients. Nice walk around the village.

Position of the hotel, in the middle of the forest was great. Breakfast was lovely cant fault it, always hot and fresh. Any issues were dealt with promptly and efficiently. Garden is beautiful lovely to sit out in the evening. Nice community shop on site, open every day. Horses and ponies outside the hotel every morning so calm and peaceful.

Rooms need some updating and a freshen up in all areas.

The staff are a great group of people and are very good at their jobs. Breakfast is great. There us a village shop right next to the pub. A 5 min drive to a nearby town with all you could want including a Ferrari dealership if your feeling flush Despite the old building and windows the property is kept very warm.

No complaints. Prices in the area are higher than my part of the world but not overly excessive and the Trusty Servant is well priced compared to some other pubs.
