Loved the style of the hotel, felt like you were in a safari hotel - the staff were really kind and friendly and all the services we used were excellent. The pool and leisure facilities were great although a little bit tired looking perhaps.

The Leisure facilities could have been a little more up to date, it seemed a bit tired and not enough seats to put our towels and things on but it's not that big a thing - the family really loved that there was a pool so really appreciative and grateful for that.

We stopped eating in the hotel, because the dining room was full of flies and wasps, flying around your table and landing on the food. When we went to breakfast, there were flies on the bread for the toast, and on the croissants.

Staff were great; we arrived late in the evening and check-in was fine. Staff at breakfast were very attentive and the breakfast itself was very nice. Our room was fine - not cold (as some people have said) and a good size. The hotel is a large wooden structure but I'd describe it as 'chalet-style' rather than a 'barn (that some reviews have said). Accommodated our dog without any fuss. The 'bad reviews' don't do this property justice - my expectations were lowered but they needn't have been. Very good value for money (maybe the price was lowered a little, due to the pool being shut - see below).

Pool facilities were shut when we were there, which is a shame. They made this aware to me in good time for us to cancel if we wanted to, but we were only staying for 1 night as a stop-off so would have had limited time to use the facilities anyway. The photos of it looked nice though!

Breakfast was really good - self service and plenty available even though we were later having breakfast. Beds were lovely and comfortable. Bath/shower room good - lovely shower. Room was a decent size and nicely decorated (lovely velvet curtains!) And so nice to be able to walk into the woods from our room. Enjoyed the pool - surprisingly no-one else there! Good temperature. All the staff were friendly and helpful (bar, breakfast room, reception and housekeeping). We've been before several years ago, and enjoyed our stay again, (albeit a short one), so will look forward to coming back again.

Very little to mention, apart from the fridge in our room, which wasn't plugged in so needed cleaning. We didn't actually need it, but the manager assured us it would be removed.

I was really impressed with whole experience at this hotel and will make this our regular stay in the area. The staff were so lovely and gave us all the information we needed when we arrived. A short walk past some beautiful wild meadow gardens and water water feature and we arrived in what I can only describe as an outstanding room with patio doors onto a varanda/walkway. The bed was massive and bedding chrisp and spotless. Bathroom had walk in shower with 2 showers and a lovely light up mirror. It was perfect for us. Having stayed in a hotel the night before for 3 times the cost I was floored at how fabulous this hotel was. Food was delicious in restaurant and competitively priced. Again staff were lovely. Gutted we had to leave so early and can't wait to return.

There was nothing to dislike.

The property is tired and in need of a lot of work. I believe it has been sold to a new owner so it will be interesting to see what they do with this very unique place.

The room was very tired, with loose taps in the bathroom, clunky plumbing and a lot of stained carpets etc. throughout the whole property. The radiator was on in our corridor outside our room 220 despite the weather being very warm and although we reported that, it remained on for our entire two day visit. The staff are great and the breakfast is nice too. The steps from the dining room to the garden are far too steep.

Location and friendliness of all the staff is always very good. We are regular users as our daughter lives locally. Any requests we make are always responded to with help, like requesting a ground floor no stairs due to mobility issues or tweaking dates etc.

I cannot,t say we didn't,t like but we notice that the place is looking tired and in need of some tlc. We were in 104, the sink unit it loose at the front where the towel rail attaches and the first bed is like sleeping in a hole needs a new mattress I think, the seats in the restaurant are all badly stained and the morning buffet isn't as nice as the freshly prepped breakfasts. These are little niggles that could be put right easily with a little care but we have been staying for 5 years now and no real improvements have been done. Such a shame to let it go down.

Breakfast was lovely and it was a buffet so we could help ourselves so even better. Staff were very friendly, especially the young girl with long hair, on the front desk, she was always happy to see you and was very helpful. She always has a smile on her face.

The pool looked like it needed a little clean. But a great swim was had by us. Fire alarm went off at appox 11pm so we all had to get out of the building. Lots of cold sleepy children that could of been given a blanket to keep them warm. Also we were given no explanation why it had gone off and no apology or even asked if we all ok at breakfast the following morning. Staff should of shown more care.

We had a wonderful 1 night stay Monday, 24th to 25th Feb. We arrived and were greeted and checked in straight away. The lady at the desk was kind and helpful. Our room was spotless, and the bed was comfortable 😌, They could do with new mattresses, but that's a tiny issue, no big problems. We used the pool and had it to ourselves. It was warm and very relaxing. We paid for breakfast to be included, and it was faultless, I am a coeliac, but nothing was a problem. They cooked fresh for me, so there no risk of cross-contamination, I had my own GF sausages and bread, and also soya milk and GF cereal. The staff were impeccable, kind, helpful, and nothing was too difficult. All in all, it's a fantastic stay. Very quiet as a Monday. Perfect. We paid £70 breakfast, including such a bargain.

The hotel was easy to find, and there was plenty of free parking. Reception was good, with the lady explaining everything from where our room was, to the use of the facilities, such as the pool, etc. Our room was large and well laid out, with a large en-suite with walk-in shower, and everything you would expect was readily available. The beds were clean and comfortable, and the room was warm and comfy. We didn't eat, but were made aware of what was available, and what times food was served.

No issues for us.
